Stop with the stan mentality, they are good but we can't deny their shortcomings |
Ifedith:Foundation matters a lot if not a house won't be standing. They will forever be known as that iPhone wannabe. |
Ifedith:Facts remain facts, it don't matter what they wear now cause we all know Xiaomi used the clone speculations and controversy as a means to boost international sales. |
Jackossky:Probably a bug, ------ are well known for that; D |
Ifedith:"It's being a long time since I used miui but if the miui 10 is anything like the miui 6 I used..." whew You tried it ![]() |
Ifedith:Adding commonly known features is not stealing, we all know Android had once used the face unlock feature but this copy cat here stays copying design and UI |
I've had the pleasure of using miui 6 and I must say it's really fantastic, smooth and lightening fast since my stock ROM was utter trash and kept draining my battery but MIUI did a wonderful job concerning battery conservation and overall "custom" look. it's being a long time I used miui but if the miui 10 is anything like the miui 6 I used then ifedith we have problem ![]() The Homescreen In fairness, the "main" MIUI 6 homescreen can be customized to be more than just a grid of icons.Swipe to the left, however, and the size, layout and folder structure is identical to iOS 7. App Switching App switching is a feature Android had before iOS. MIUI 6, however, remade its app switching UI to perfectly mirror what you see on iOS 7.Of course, web OS did the card switching motif first, back in 2009. App Folders It's not just the folder layout in MIUI 6 that matches iOS 7; it's the entire interaction. The animation works almost pixel-for-pixel like how Apple operates in iOS 7. Calendar From the coloring to the layout to the text, most of the elements of these UIs are identical. Compass There are subtle differences between these designs, but it's hard to argue that MIUI 6 didn't take its cues directly from iOS 7. Calculator The colors are slightly different, but the basic design of MIUI 6's calculator app resembles iOS 7. Video Camera It's not just the still camera; MiUI aped the video camera controls, too.Notice that the record button is square when recording. This is something Apple did with iOS 7 and that MIUI 6 decided to adopt for itself. Photo Camera There are lots of different ways to draw a camera interface, making it even more striking to see MIUI 6's take on the button layout, shape and color of the camera. Browser Rather than trying to re-skin Chrome, MIUI 6 took its web browser cues directly from mobile Safari. Control Center Swipe up from the bottom to see a whole set of control overlays that are very similar to the Control Center Apple introduced in iOS 7.Again, this is an idea Android (and Samsung) had first. That's why it's telling that MIUI's implementation looks so much like Apple's -- rathe than other Android controls. Music Player MIUI 6's music app closely resembles iTunes for the desktop and the way music appears on the iOS 7 lock screen. Again, rather than copying the Gmail layout, MIUI 6 goes straight for iOS' Mail app. Settings Android settings pages are notoriously confusing. Copying iOS 7 was probably a good UX move, but this goes a step further, with the colors, icon and list views. Notifications List Android and iOS have copied one another when it comes to notification design. Still, the use of the icons and the overlay text in MIUI 6 is distinctly similar to iOS 7. Notification Overlay Even notification overlays in MIUI 6 are pixel-for-pixel the same as iOS 7. source: https://www.quora.com/Can-Xiaomi-MIUI-beat-Apple-iPhone-iOS

Xiaomi phone users comparing their MIUI to ios ![]() Imagine thinking a clone is better than the original

ubev01:Samsung made it known it was a 12mp but have managed to "upgrade" it to perform like a 48mp. You can't tell me Xiaomi was unaware the camera was a 48 mp interpolated camera. SD660 supports 25mp max, yes but can still "support" a 48 mp camera but the results will still be like that of a 25mp since the processor has a maximum number of megapixels for picture output. |

Xiaomi recently launched its Redmi Note 7 phone in China. The highlight of the phone is its 48MP camera sensor on the back. They claimed to have a 48MP Samsung GM1 sensor at the back along with a secondary 5MP camera for portrait shots. If we talk about hardware, Redmi Note 7 packs a Snapdragon 660 chipset under the hood. When we look into Snapdragon 660 features, the chipset supports only up to the 25MP single camera. So, how does Redmi Note 7 sport a 48MP camera? Is it fake? Let us know the truth behind the 48MP sensor and how it works. https://www.theindianwire.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/redmi-note-7.jpg The 48mp brouhaha ain't actually fake but a bit exaggerated by the company which is something most cheap ass OEMs engage in (hype a singular feature and ignore the rest). In common terms the word "interpolated" might be used here but that's not the entire truth of the matter. Pixel Binning The pixel binning is basically an ISP level implementation process where 4 pixels combine information into 1 pixel. In Samsung GM1 sensor, pixel binning takes pixels in a 2×2 grid and combines them into one. Samsung-GM1-48MP-sensor So, the information captured by 4 individual pixels is now combined into one large pixel that is also called Super Pixel. This data collected by 4 adjacent pixels combine into one “super pixel” and this is called pixel binning. However, the resulting image of this 4-in-1 pixel binning has an effective resolution 4x of the resolution of the sensor. Basically the 48 mp is just a 12mp in reality but has been configured by Samsung to allow for more light and better resolution, Thus by combining raw data from four pixels into one, the output image is of a higher resolution as it captured a larger amount of light and also reduced the noise. Xiaomi used this sensor and claims to offer 48MP images that are actually captured from a 12MP sensor. However, the resulting image is brighter and has less noise after using the pixel binning because of the combination of four pixel’s data into one. My issue here is this whole thing is more of a marketing gimmick since the Snapdragon 660 don't actually support 48 megapixel camera, Xiaomi keeps acting like the whole thing is a vital part of the phone. I know some people said Xiaomi might not have been aware about the whole 48mp ish, but that's a big fallacy since they purchased the chip and must have know about it's architecture and "limits". |
Protein0:That's crazy happened to me too but I'm guessing that's a WhatsApp issue and not necessarily the phone since most phones even those with 512mb run WhatsApp perfectly. ![]() P.s Try harder with the sarcasm next time, I'm not a hater just stating facts ![]() |

Xiaomi is hoping to take things a notch higher after the recent announcement concerning the establishment of their African Regional Department and Wang Lingming (Xiaomi’s VP) was appointed as the manager of the department. Presently in Africa, Transsion holds a large market share in the mobile phone market especially in Nigeria since they focus on providing budget and pocket friendly devices to their customers, it is expected that Xiaomi will have to compete with in crowd such as Tecno, Samsung and Nokia but more specifically Tecno, Infinix and Itel devices since most Nigerians utilize these phones. What do I think about Xiaomi coming to Nigeria (Africa) A very good one since they produce "quality" devices at affordable prices to customers but the issue here is Nigeria is not a bed of roses for business especially foreign ones who are about to just launch. The economy has never been worse and not to mention the issue of corruption that abides within the country, another is custom duties and taxation. My question here is, will Xiaomi still sell their "budget" devices at the same rate they do in China after been confronted with all these issues cause I'm pretty sure Transsion didn't get a foothold in Nigeria by playing fair and nice. Many have speculated about Transsion paying huge amounts of money to "kick" the balls in their favor. Am I happy about the news? Hell Yes! but I'm deeply conflicted about the whole thing. I think the competition will be good since their other competitor went to play checkers instead of chess. |
UPDATE Their phones are not cheap due to only promotions and advertisements but they are cheap since they make use of budget phone chips and emphasized mainly on copying other phone brands since they can't spend a dime in coming up with their own innovations. They made sure to create a buzz early on concerning the familiarity's often drawn out by iPhone users, this led to so many users trying out their devices. I have a review coming out about the whole Redmi Note 7 and it's false 48 megapixel claims, so be sure to check that out. |

Life is good but certainly not for the Korean Tech company especially it's mobile and cellular division, a wonderful and well-recognized brand is currently experiencing a downfall compared to Nigeria's economy. LG was one of those companies that penetrated the Nigerian market in the early years and was hugely successful due to their cheaper offerings in electronics compared to the likes of Sony, Panasonic, Samsung and the rest. Although in this post I'm gonna focus majorly on their mobile phones which have shriveled over the years in the tech world, PhoneArena further reported that the smartphone manufacturer from July-September, the mobile division took a loss of over $331.17 million. I'm here to highlight some of the several reasons why LG is currently on a decline. The launching of the G4 was a huge commercial success and there were a lot of prospective buyers, LG was praised for their sophisticated displays, display quality, camera, overall performance, and unique design since their phones tend to resemble no other but that victory didn't last long. So many critics claimed LG lacked innovation and were running out of ideas since it's predecessor (G3) was very similar and had little or no differences, apparently many users were happy with the device since it allowed for power users for expandable storage and to quickly switch batteries since it offered removable batteries unlike its main competitor, the Samsung S6. After a month or two, G4 users complained of screen retention and boot-loop issues which led into a class-action lawsuit filed in March 2017. This defects led to users opting to a better and stress-free brand. But despite the issues that persisted which led to the lawsuit LG still made sure those mistakes were repeated in the G5, V10, V20, and even the G6, after hearing about the so many negative reviews from users who complained bitterly about touchscreen problems and bootloop hardware failures nobody wanted to waste over $400 on a piece of a headache. Many have complained about the LG's UX as being heavily customized and power demanding, the issue here is great hardware but poor software optimization, it's like the hardware and software can't coincide with each other leading to terrible cases of lag, bugs, and even subsequent bootloops even after repairs. It's like the company doesn't even listen to their customers since they mostly opt for 3000 mah batteries which are unable to sustain their power hungry devices. Wacky designs, the brand has maintained a distinct design from other phone manufacturers and OEMs but many have been displeased by the uncommon designs of their phones like the location of the power button and volume rockers although this complaint is debatable since most users also prefer the unique and distinguished designs their phones offer. Critics have often highlighted that the rear designs of their phones such as the G5 was "boring" and "protrude in an oddly wart-like manner" I don't know who offers marketing and promotion services to LG, but they need to be fired since many don't even hear of such eloquent devices or are overshadowed by other brands release. If you could remember clearly Samsung had to recall the Galaxy Note 7 after the whole explosion mishap but LG managed to lose a golden opportunity to sell off their G6 to the general public since it was released in that same year, had similar specs and widely praised but in conclusion the device itself lacked anything novel or buzz-worthy and hence lost its appeal. With over $55.91 billion sales on its Electronic division alone which comprises of Home Entertainment, Mobile Communications, Home Appliances & Air Solutions, and Vehicle Component, LG Electronics still remains the world's second-largest television manufacturer. |
I have another article coming up and its gonna be crazy |
UPDATE Just scrolled through my previous posts and discovered this one, can't believe it's over 2 years that I ordered for this phone whew! God has being great, from using budget devices to where I am right now... Anyways, I didn't use the device for up to year before deciding to upgrade so I sold it to my brother. I have used phones before but none can be compared to the Y12 when it comes to "unbrickable", like I've literally tried every method in the book to root this device all to no avail. the phone system storage is so secure and likewise it's body, my brother still uses the phone and it's as solid as ice block with huge bezels and all. After over 4 months of using the device, I noticed the RAM management was so poor and I was unable to play games such as Injustice. the battery and camera was also one of the reasons i abandoned the device, the battery was giving me less than 4 hours screen on time (SOT) under heavy usage and the camera; let's just say if you are dark skinned and tried taking a selfie at night, only your teeth would show . The device came with stock Android (marshmallow) and had literally no customization except for the boot animation that displays "welcome". The phone served me well for the time being but my thirst can't be quenched. So in conclusion the phone is still waking strong despite being so ridiculously cheap and an unpopular brand but it has managed to survive my destructive hands (as my Mother calls it, no like seriously i dismantle everything given to me; from toys, phones, to computers). |
Lalasticlala old topic but still relevant |
Zumadzay:Wow, just got back and saw this and I'm a bit irked but not mad since most of what you said were partly true but I have never liked phones produced by Transsion not to even mention advertising for them. Someone even sent me a PM telling me to stop calling them out directly since that ends up giving them free publicity. You just painted me to look like a bipolar patient when I tried itemizing some good stuff about Xiaomi, anyways if you love your "precious" so much why feed into the "negativity"? And opening an account because of the dire need to address whatever you felt needed addressing and writing a really lovely epistle probably longer than my bank statement Boy you're dismissed, you can take several seats next to...Love y'all ![]() |
Somebori is screaming "No more reviews...", everyone is allowed to make his or her own contribution. Most of you guys are just pressed and need a reason to vent out your frustration but most of y'all will still go to watch his reviews and come here screaming hate. |
The year just started and this girl is already winning |
Since when does someone having an objective opinion becomes a crime, I have watched several phone reviews on YouTube and I strongly dislike those ones that hype everything about a particular phone, it just looks fishy and tacky like they were paid to do it. Those type of reviews are just damaging and may lead to unnecessary loss to the consumer since he believed everything the reviewer said hook line and sinker. Most of y'all are worse than some Buhari supporters, it's a trend now to jump in a hate train just cause someone sees things in a different light. |
It's what he deserves |
