agaugust: Ordinary refusal of one European country to sell a simple spare part of Rooivalk helicopter to South Africa stopped you from selling to a willing customer. So easy for your European white masters to wreck y.our arms industry with one single email from Europe . Speculation again. You can't prove that, your conclusion is reached by reading online articles. SA will supply India with artillery pieces. |

agaugust: South Africa too could not build her own jet fighters or even ordinary air to air missiles to replace the weak Mirage jets France sold to you, you kept complaining of Cuba's MiG-23 air superiority throughout the war. So what makes you better?
The G-5 and G-6 artillery technology was imported and sold to South Africa by a Canadian, while the Nuclear bomb technology was imported from Israel and sold to you.
South African arms industry was built by secret b..reast feeding from oversees throughout the arms embargo. Learn to quote history . Ever heard about project Carver? Cuban MIG-23 were to be matched by the Cheetah fighter jets and in preparation for a possible SU-27 purchase project carver was in place. The G5 and 6 howitzer's are South African, ask what South Africa got from the Canadian. Nuclear weapons? Ever heard about Armscor's "The circle"? SA developed it's own nuclear weapons. |

lezz: nigeria do not buy arms from south africa. I repeat nigeria DO NOT BUY ARMS FROM south africa. The company in south africa was meant to broker the deal. Read it up and do not claim facts you dont know. South african arms is nothing to boast about. There are several dozen countries from the west , north korea, russia, china. Please, please, please trade between Nigeria and south africa shows it is in favour of Nigeria. Read it up. Check up your facts. And claim not what isn't yours. . Hi Less!!! Ask your uncle augubugbu for rules please. "Mike..ZA" is to be avoided at all costs or you'll eat humble pie. |

agaugust: Mild sanctions brought you to your knees in Angolan bush war.
It can happen again and cripple all your European imported jets, warships, submarines etc.
South Africa is a tiny piece of overrated Hollywood camera . Bush war? South Africa during the bush war introduced weapons such as: 1. World's HMD 2. Nuclear weapons. 3. G5 howitzer. 4. G6 howitzer. 5. Stand off weapons. 6. Casspir. And more!!!! While Nigeria put her Jaguar jets out of service. |

Henry120: It doesn't change the fact 85% of black south-africans live in poverty. it doesn't change the fact that more Nigerian than South Africans live in poverty. Poor people get government grant here. A poor South African lives comfortable than a poor Nigerian. |

patches689: That is the testimony of a vehemently anti-arms deal critic, obviously it is biased as hell
He is a filthy pacifist that says even having an army is unconstitutional and that we should disband the SANDF and only have border guards and a coast guard.
His opinion is worthless. And he will be exposed under cross-examination.
For example he says we have no pilots for the Gripen and Hawks - yet we currently have a total of 60
The other anti-arms deal activists withdrew form the commission because they know that they have no case. Especially after Navy and Airforce officers blew the "wrong equipment" argument out of the water His being grilled. I watched the commission today. His making silly claims, from linking Hani to the arms deal to claiming former defence minister was poisoned. |

agaugust: There is NOTHING South Africa produces that Nigeria cannot get from China, Israel, India, Ukraine, Russia...cheaper and better.
You have lost a major potential arms deal by your foolishness, Nigeria has signed a new ALL ASPECTS weapons deal with Russia...
South Africa is the loser, big loser, you should have allowed Nigeria to test your weapons against Boko Haram and help you market them worldwide as battle tested weapons, but your backward thinking has made you forget how the game of marketing by evidence works.
Nation of ANC fools
http://www.vanguardngr.com/2014/09/boko-haram-fg-turns-russia-china-usa-uk-fail-nigeria/
. If that's the case why is Nigeria seeking SA arms then? Fools that you wanna buy arms from? Your money will be used to produce advanced systems for SA. |

agaugust: Wait forever if you cannot use your own time to do google search.
That battle was repeated too many times on this forum in 2 years, go google neutral sources of the battle of Cuito, and the Cuban army pincer movement that forced South Africa to beg UN for peace mediation.
I won't post any source, you go google it, you are not worth the waste of time...or you pay me salary here? Fool
. That story doesn't add up. 1.In 1986 FAPLA with their allies pushed South, the SADF intervened and crashed them. This was the first time the G5 howitzer was used in combat. 2.After building another force,in 1988 they attempted again. This time they were determined. SA intervened again when it became apparent that UNITA couldn't stop them. 3. SA halted the advance pushed the enemy back. They(enemy) called for heavier help from Cuba. The town was heavily reinforced with Soviet style defences from trenches, mine fields to artillery. A. Capturing it would've been costly and useless. 4. The Cubans side of the story focuses on defending the town NOT FIGHTING and the building up of a force in West Angola. |
