I think South Africa should build a West Bank-like security wall on the Limpopo River so that they would know we're not like them. The problem here is that during Apartheid no African country wanted to mess with SA, now that a "black" government runs the country all these useless village countries like Nigeria think they can compare.

The whole of Nigeria doesn't even have a state budget of the Department of Education in SA, yet they think they can compare to us.
South Africa is an island nation just below the African continent. cheesy. cheesy grin cheesy grin cheesy

SA is doing good, more of our companies will operate in areas they didn't have access before as we continue to stabilise our region. Unlike some region, its "challenges" currently are heartbreaking to write.

And fact is no one can compare. Technologically,Military,Health, infrastructure,Education and more$

India
Pakistan
Parts of Mexico Brazil and Colombia, all have climates similar to the conditions in Africa. The middle east has an even worse climate.

Your point is?
My point is they don't have experience operating helicopters in "hot and high" conditions, with less support.

Don't mention Pakistan they're the worst!!!!!

There are no nigerian military students in South-Africa, what is there to learn from a poorly motivated, poorly trained bunch of followers who cannot take responsibility for their failures.

Should I also post the number of violent murders in South-Africa, you are the worst in the world. A person is 10 times more likely to be murdered in the streets of RSA than in Nigeria.

FACT!
The are always Nigerian students and others from different parts of Africa and the world in SA taking military courses.

You talk about training?

A Nigerian elite SF soldier(SBS,ARMY SF) = SA parabat.

13 000 DEAD!!!! Your military is failing to defeat a poor terrorist group in its backyardm

Blame UN ROE for us getting robbed

If you aren't allowed to shoot the robbers what are you supposed to do?

And btw, last I checked your army was in the midst of mutiny, warcrimes, loss of multiple towns and unable to stop sectarian violence
Also the radios used, units at times can't communicate with the UN Mission HQ.

Civilians don't lead soldiers on battle field. Ban Ki Moon is not leading FIB forces in Congo

Yes,similar to how the FIB commander isn't leading troops on the battlefield.

Helicopter is helicopter, Mighty Apaches get shot down
.
An attack helicopter is better or different,in terms of manoeuvrability, agility, sensors, weapons payload etc.

Effective VS Capable.

A sword is capable of killing a man,but a gun is more effective?

GET IT?

Nigeria has all those things you listed, most have been shown in photos, except number 1.

Rifle grenades are in tens of thousands in Nigerian army FN FAL in stock plenty plenty surplus surplus.

You show us South African army amphibious armoured vehicles, just show us one only grin grin

.
Show us a Nigerian army mine clearing charge system.

Show us Nigerian anti-material rifles....................

Algeria is Africa's most experienced COIN force. Next in line is Nigeria.

The article which agaugust pasted months ago stated officers from 19 different countries graduated from the course. One of the 19 countries which included south-africa.

It is an effective bird used by multiple countries across different climatic regions. It is an effective and a very capable tank killer. It's a joy for every airforce pilot. The best part is we are getting up-to 12 MI-171SH terminator.

The Indians fly them
Russians
Chinese
Poles
Venezuelans
Algerians
Ghanaians
Algerians
Nigerians
Brazilians
Mexicans
Colombians

Et al
which of those countries have experience using helicopters in the "hot and high" conditions found in Africa?

It is sad pigeon,YOU SAID!!!!!!

Henry120:
The Nigerian military isn't wavering in it's constitutional duty of protecting Nigerians.

If you were a little intellectually bright, you would know wars aren't video games or movies. Neither does this enemy respect the Geneva convention.

The Nigerian military and security architecture are currently the most engaged and one of the more experienced (bar Algeria, which still suffers terror attacks by the way) on this continent. So it isn't unusual to see students from across the continent including south-africa attend NDA/NDC/NWC and multiple other courses in Nigeria.

Every reasonable neighbor knows practical experience is vitally more important than some fictional war scenario.

This is why they continue to troop into Nigerian war colleges.
13 000 DEAD!!!!

Your military is failing.

There are Nigerian students in SA,that's normal.

You dey mind South Africans?

Envy will k.ill them because Tanzanian army commander is still leading South African army in Congo as we speak grin grin

Nigerian military is confirmed the to be big boss as usual, so we will continue to lead Africa till infinity !!!!

.
The Tanzanian brigadier isn't part of the TPDF battalion.

The Tanzanians are our allies and have overtime called for SA help.

Effective and very capable.
1. Lack of hot and high flying capability.

2. Lack NOE flying capability.

3. Lack of sensors.

4. Lack of manoeuvrability.

5. "IT LOOKS LIKE A SAD PEGEON" You said.

It is designed to operate in Europe,in colder temperatures and less dust.

Henry120:
There is nothing simple about it. It is a new helicopter designed not only to transport troops, but also to support the troops in active battle. If it were that simple, you'll fly them, instead of the paltry 10 half-french helicopters you currently fly.
They're simple transport helicopters.

Despite an insurgency at home. Nigeria has security forces military/police and advisors in,

Mali
Equatorial guinea
Liberia
Sierra-leone
Sudan
Benin republic
Ivory coast
DRC
Patrols the waters of togo,benin

We do not lack the skill, manpower or finesse to carry out our duties, neither do we shy away from them.
Protect Nigerians against the military threat of BH.

If you were "fit" BH would destroyed and reduced to a force similar to Chinese terrorists.

Any reasonable person would never take seriously security advice from his neighbour, who's house is being robbed monthly.

Henry120:
I differ. The argument was over Air-refueling for helicopters. The MI-171sh is a new helicopter, it's an assault helicopter.
It is just a simple transport helicopter with rocket pods.

My point exactly. SANDF personel are not soldiers. And I can see why you're all proud of SANDF's running away from CAR!!

SANDF will always LICK their wounds and walk run away after taking a good beating from a supposedly weaker COMBATANT.
That clip captures the very weak nature of your SANDF. I can't imagine a man being beaten to pulp and by no means managed to defend himself or neutralise the violent body bounding.

Bloody liar! You were there to rip-off CAR along side Bozize of precious mining resources. You forget that AndrewZA's version was that SANDF were there to train CAR soldiers. Which version is correct? grin grin grin

Very correct!! For once you have truthfully stated this well-recognised fact.

grin grin grin In deed ... SA is under the protection of Nigeria ... Tanzania, Uganda, Malawi, Congo, Kenya!! Don't forget Nigeria's General head the AU military setup!

Now run-off before I unleash those two angry South African women to beat you to size! #stupid
Your military is fighting a losing war to protect the sovereignty and oneness of your country.

While real African armies ARE PROTECTING AFRICA.

Protect Nigeria before you can protect anything or anyone,to date your military has failed to PROTECT 13000 Nigerians

But its not like they provide advance or good training, most Armies trained by the U.S.A are completely useless in combat, Americans have a lot of experience and skills, but they don't always share all the important stuff.
No military will ever share its advanced training and tactics.

African armies need funding not training.

The kind of men that SANDF prides itself about. No wonder SELEKA made a meal out of them and they ran away never to return.

Your point?

That man isn't a soldier, even if he was I wouldn't have been proud if he retaliated.

The SANDF deployed forces around CAR to carry out operations, and pave the way for an AU peacekeeping mission.

Your armed forces are fighting for the sovereignty and unity of Nigeria.

While SA and our allies from Uganda,Tanzania,Malawi,Kenya etc we are PROCTECTING AFRICA.

My point is, you've been claiming black-hawk helicopters aren't used for attack roles, or aren't armed with missiles and rockets.
They're capable of carrying out attacks, similar to the Lynx. But aren't effective.

The USA(the first country to build a dedicated AT helicopter) used the Huey transport helicopters, strapped with rocket pods for the attack and escort duties first.

This was found to be less effective, that's when the Cobra attack helicopter was developed and fielded.

From Russia to Algeria Hinds are being replaced by a dedicated attack helicopter,in the form of the MI-28.

They arenet. They can but they don't because it makes them a less effective at there transport role.

No,said that my brother @patches pointed out to you that those MI-17 weren't attack helicopters but simply transport helicopters with rockets.

The argument was never about Black Hawks.
