As I predicted some months back here, that there will be consensus indirect primary, lolz, because the president and the party will agree on a candidate but a big fish like Asiwaju will not agree and that will force the party to have a mere formality indirect primary, because the president's candidate will always win. The week we all be waiting for is finally here, unless if the inec changes the timetable, if not we will all know the candidates of all the parties at least in 8 days. Osinbajo for the trophy.

Let me go straight to the point and write the differences I saw in the writer's opinion and mine. Ekiti state is for Osinbajo if Fayemi withdraws, Ondo, Ogun, Oyo are all for Osinbajo and he will also do very well in osun. Another different of opinion from the writers own is that, Asiwaju Tinubu might likely withdraw before the primary if it becomes too obvious of the disgraceful defeat. Apart from the two observations, I have no other reason to add any opinion to what has been written, in fact, he has done a very good job. I know many of you will still be doubting, no problem, 30th is here, and if you a patient reader, you can all go through my previous threads and posts, to know where I am coming from. Yinusa Duba advances reasons for placing a bet on Vice President Yemi Osinbajo’s victory at the All Progressives Congress presidential primary


It is exactly two weeks to the Special National Convention of the All Progressives Congress (APC), and there are clear indications that bookmakers may be in for a shocker as Senator Bola Tinubu is increasingly facing strong headwinds in his bid to clinch the party’s presidential ticket. A zone-by-zone analysis of delegates’ preferences, realignments of APC governors, President Buhari’s behind-the-scene moves and emerging voting patterns indicate that Vice President Yemi Osinbajo will likely emerge winner at the convention on June 1. The Vice President’s intense campaigns (he visits two states in a day), his inspiring messages and the emphasis he places on his experience and readiness to lead right from the first day are increasingly resonating with party stakeholders across the country. Of the 20 aspirants or so in the field, only three – Osinbajo, Tinubu and Amaechi – are the serious contenders. The rest came into the race for many reasons, and so I won’t waste time profiling their chances. In fact, I am sure that these unserious ones will step down before the Convention even begins. They were convinced to buy the N100 million forms to raise funds for the party.


In the South-west region, Tinubu will take Lagos, his home base, and take a slight lead in Osun. The VP will win Oyo, Ondo, Ekiti and Ogun. The governors of these four states are solidly with Osinbajo. But Osun is in strong contention by Tinubu and the VP, and so the votes would be almost evenly split between the two.

While Chibuike Amaechi will take his home state of Rivers, Osinbajo will sweep Akwa Ibom, Cross River, Delta and Bayelsa. In Bayelsa, Timipre Sylva’s firm grip on the delegates is the VP’s advantage. Sylva will easily align with President Buhari and vote Osinbajo. In Akwa Ibom, the VP is banking on the supports of bigwigs like former Deputy Governor Nsima Ekere, Senator Udoma Udo Udoma and Senator Ita Enang, among others; while in neighbouring Cross River State, Gov. Ben Ayade is leading the battalion of supporters rooting for the VP. In Delta, Senator Omo Ovie-Agege and Minister of State for Labour, Mr. Festus Keyamo are the driving forces behind the VP. There would be serious contention for Edo State by both the VP and Tinubu. Although former APC National Chairman Adams Oshiomhole may be rooting for Tinubu in Edo, but the statutory delegates are solidly behind the VP.

The South-east delegates are going into the APC Convention with a sense of grievance. They would have loved to vote for an aspirant from their zone. But in the absence of that, the voting pattern would be disparate. Those from Imo and Ebonyi would be influenced by their governors, while the rest would mostly make their independent decisions. David Umahi and Hope Uzodinma would listen to Buhari’s persuasions and support Osinbajo with their delegates. Delegates from Enugu, Abia and Anambra will support the VP overwhelmingly, but a few would however line up behind Tinubu and Amaechi.

I can confirm that the delegates from the three Zones in the North (NE, NC and NW) will vote in the same pattern because most of the 19 Northern States are APC states whose governors will go along with the President; and we all know that President Buhari is not willing to support Tinubu. Buhari is bent on having his VP succeed him. This is an established fact which has rankled the Tinubu team to no end. But it is what it is. No APC governor from the North will antagonize the President. They respect, adore and revere the old man. Northern governors will support whosoever the President anoint. Although Tinubu will make some good showings in Kano, Zamfara and a few other places, his overall performance in the North will fall behind the VP’s. Amaechi, on the other hand, will give a smattering performance in some places like Katsina.

In previous presidential contests, party delegates were mostly motivated by money. This year seems to be different. What are the major critical success factors in this year’s race? The most important consideration among delegates this year is the character, capacity and competence of the candidates. There is a strong realization among party delegates that Nigeria could fully achieve its full potentials if the right set of leaders are elected. In the governing APC, many are convinced that money would not be the deciding factor. In this regard, Prof Osinbajo is highly regarded as the most competent, experienced and well-prepared candidate. The VP’s relatively young age (he was 65 on March 8; Tinubu 70 on March 29 and Amaechi 56 on May 27) coupled with good physical and mental health is a plus for the VP. Overall, Prof. Osinbajo will score between 70% and 75% of the total delegate votes at the convention.

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo on Tuesday was formally presented with the award for Leadership Person of the Year 2021 at the Leadership Newspapers’ Annual Conference and Awards ceremony in Abuja.

In January, Osinbajo had been named the Leadership Person of the Year 2021, alongside the Director-General, World Trade Organization (WTO), Nigeria’s Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala.

The newspaper had noted in its citation that the VP is a worthy recipient of the award “for his key role in steadying the ship of state through the storms as well as laying the foundation for the social intervention programmes of the current administration.”



Speaking at the event, after receiving the award, the Vice President noted that we must also create a country that can provide, “by means of an effective social welfare scheme, a safety net for the very poor and the vulnerable; a united and tolerant nation where all, irrespective of ethnicity, religion or political persuasion, are respected, treated fairly and justly, and have equal access to all opportunities.”

The VP added “we must build a Nigeria where a boy or girl does not say that, ‘I am from the South-West, or I am from the North-West, or South-South or North-East, or North-Central or South-East, but that I am a Nigerian, a citizen of one of the greatest and most prosperous nations on earth.

“This is the kind of Nigeria that those of us in this political tendency, to which Sam Nda-Isaiah belonged, all attest to and believe.”

Osinbajo dedicated the award to “millions of Nigerians who believe in this new Nigeria, and who retain faith in our possibilities as a people and are doing their best every day in their various corners to build this nation through honest endeavour.”

“To these people of goodwill who are working hard to promote peace, tolerance and to build a country that truly represents all of our dreams; to those working hard build bridges, those who have refused to be frustrated or even wearied by the trials of our country as it grows and continues into the fullness of its manifest destiny.”





According to him, “it is because of such Nigerians, that despite the great challenges we are passing through on our march of progress, I am certain that we will build this great Nigerian nation that we all yearn for.”

Tambuwa trying hard to justify why the pdp should give the North her presidential ticket, but he is half intelligent, its too late because a southerner will surely have apc's ticket.

This is what is called maturity and experience, look at Osinbajo and Fayemi, PYO never made Fayemi looked unwanted around him, despite the fact that they are eyeing the same ticket at the same time. Omoluabi atata.

We have known this for a long time that Osinbajo is the favourite, I like the line when you said we didn't brag about the 14 governors that signed for PYO because it's nothing to us, we are seriously waiting for 30th, all things been equal, Osinbajo should win with landslide.

He is the only aspirant that is fully accepted in every other region, now let's the train move to other remaining states, we are very confident of clinching the ticket.

Kwara state is on lockdown because of Osinbajo today, like I told you the last phase of consultation will involve the big States, so just relax your mind, I can see that you are a big supporter of Osinbajo too, I will be feeding you with the updates , but for now, he is projected to win big,never mind those fake endorsement, imagine Badaru, Bagudu and some other funny names, they might even sign Tinubu's form but that does not translate to endorsement, when I see that type of news from the other camp, it makes me to feel more comfortable because it shows things are no going right with them, did you see Osinbajo's supporters celebrating the governors that signed his form?because its not a big deal. He has been to 20 states or thereabout, he will start going to the bigger states with voting strength from this week,even though every state is important, just stay tuned, that's what I can say for now.

Hello Boss! What about the states and governors that are for the aspirants, you promised to name here? we are already at the middle of the month. I think you are right with these yeye signings, I am sure some of the governors listed here might even deny the news as usual later, moreover, signing someone's form does not mean endorsement, pls do the needful about what you promised, I am eager to see the list.

Ohh sorry, yeah I did promise middle of this month to list the states for Osinbajo, and some other aspirants, due to some factors, I will not be able to list them here now, but I have almost the full list however there are some discrepancies in about 4 to 5 states, so I will want to get the correct figures there before I will lists them, anyway, I did name some states last week, Nasarawa, Kaduna, Katsina, Gombe, Taraba, these states are 100%for Osinbajo, there are more states for him in the North but just don't want to mention them now, until when I have the full list, some will argue it but never mind, it will be clearer to them soon. Osinbajo will be in kwara today, just stay tuned. I really appreciate.

I can only tell you people that just 3 of the governors in the list, are truly for Tinubu. A governor can sign for multiple aspirants,all these propangada induced endorsements, will not take Asiwaju's campaign anywhere, the inlelligent people know this is just a act of desperation.
