There are smarter ways of empowering the grassroot...... at this rate, we'll end up with a nation of pepper grinders and keel marwa drivers. tractors, cottage factories instead |
Politics › Re: The North Is mistaking the civility of the south for stupidity by mikolo80: 4:56pm On Nov 02, 2016 |
Diplomaticbeing: So long as we indepthly continues to practice "tribercracy" instead of democracy, the North will always remains the grand deciders of the fate of other constituencies of the country. Absence of equality will always result to master/slave relationship in any sphere of human endeavours.
Actually, even in the event that the country is restructured - regional-wise, the current democratic dominance of the North against the other ethnic components will still persist. Tribalism is an incurable disease.
To this end, the only potent solution will be to decentralize power. Confederation is our best bet, if truly we are sincere with our intentions to continue to coexist together as a country and ensure peace, happiness and prosperity for all. how do you decentralise. You think they will be looking at you? |
Politics › Re: Niger Delta Leaders To Buhari: We Want Oil Blocs by mikolo80: 4:49pm On Nov 02, 2016 |
Yehman: I doubt if these people are truly the Niger delta leaders. Oil blocs for what? Oil blocs will only leave u with few billionaires here and there. Even if they give 50 to 100 Niger deltans oil blocs, my conclusion is that...the life of average person in Niger delta region would not change.
Why not request for fiscal federalism with highly competitive units. And this is where I blame the citizens of this country. Our main problem is the concoction in Abuja and the youths are keeping quiet, worst-still, placing all their hopes on one old man with dust in the brain. I weep for my country #TeamTrueFedralism who Moyam chop oyel moni? You think they are there for anybody but themselves. It's survival off the fittest when it comes to oil money |

Walelavender: Second term as a reward? Oh don't be kidding me ! The political class is very smart and they will continue to take advantage of the gullibility of the electorates who believe in 'working' in first term and 'chopping' in second term. which means they work for 4 years and loot for 4,but without an incentive they will just loot for 4 years each and move to Senate |

Walelavender: Ajimobi and his Lebanese padi His wife is doing a great job bringing FDI from her country. Most governors shouldn't be handed second term. The pace at which Oyo state is moving is quite disturbing. This is a face-saving media stunt so what will they strive for if there is no second term as reward. That means they won't even do anything in the first term. Half loaf HP better than none |

saliubello: Here is the part caught my attention most; ......"government should learn to lead from behind. First, allow private effort and initiatives to flourish then step in to provide the necessary encouragement to boost things".....
1. Our dearest Government should provide enabling environment for businesses to thrive; not be a competitor to investors.
2. Strengthen our Laws and Law enforcement. The crux of our problems.
We shall start getting things right the moment we start consulting with the people before forcing any social projects on them.
Which way? Agriculture; Mining or Agribusiness... all of the above But next time look for farmers to empower instead of trying to cajole ppl wen get longer throat |

if this was done by some western leaders now
all of you will gather to lick their ass
they will be like.."he is so humble,he is not proud, buhari should emulate him, we want leader like this".
see as some people above me are saying it all a scam..he might not be the best leader out there but we
should learn to appreciate them when they try to show good gesture and connect with the country.
R western leaders solve their ppl problems. Instead of the idiot to demonstrate tractor since 1986 it's bicycle. Why are we like this for goodness sake |
