it is better to seek advice from pple you know are more knowledgeable than keeping it a secret, things would seem okay for that moment but in the long run (which marriage is about) might cause serious issues.

Three things come to play here:

1. Take the offer and he sees you as a person that has no regard for his daughter that can abandon her when the tough times come calling.
