Yes cute a$$, this one is definitely a "pass by"--- No comments!!!!! ![]() |
Amen Horus, na you talk am!!!!! |
No problem brov! It is easy to sit and calculate millions in Niara without realizing that the Naira has little value compared to other currencies. We are not saying N45million but about N6million. Haba!!! It shows you have not visited Nigeria in the past 10 years. You will be shocked. I rest my case, no ill feelings. You have to work harder than that to make you money meaningful in Nigeria---sad but true!!!!!! Sorry to disappoint you. |
All dis history and geography lessons are not necessary. Simple question? Simple answer. Yes colonialism was good for Africa. The only problem is that we kept the disadvantages of colonialism---divide and conquer mentality, and did away with the good of it-education. China did the reverse and is progressing today!!!!! |
Oh yeah! Cant even clear a container from China with that or buy a brand new car with it--- maybe semi-tokunbo car from Cotonou. So what can you invest in Can't build a decent house or decent plaza of shops. Maybe some Onitsha outfit shops without roofs, electricity or running water. So what are we investing in here Otokoto business. I guess! |
Sorry oh! My tithes are for feeding my family. If extra remain, then we can negotiate. If you show me the difference in the lives of those who say they pay tithes and those that do not pay, then you can convince me. No difference between believer and unbeliever. We are lose loved ones, we all fall sick, we all go die. So please this is a matter between you and God. Your bible did not ask for money but a tenth food items and the likes from your house hold. Our modern day pastors do not want that type. Now you have turned it to a money making venture. To each his own jare! That final day we will find out for sure what is desired. Till then---- to your tents!!!!!! |
Please mama, the man has only less than 18 months more, why waste resources in getting him out. The chance to do that was squandered. I pity the next president right or left that is going to inherit the "Bush" man's mess. For once I think I will pass up my voting rights! |
TAYO-D, That means your equity after junk fees/air fares and settling relatives will probably be $45,000 or less. Do you think you can invest $45,000 in Nigeria That is not enough pocket money for 6 months!!!! Nigeria is a very expensive society to maintain your current lifestyle. Please think of some mutual funds, retirement plan or college funds for the kids---- or stick to buying and selling cars for quick returns. |
Patience my dear people, patience. Give him 6 months and we will know his true color. Siddon look na dog name. |
I am glad you can only find 13 problems. I think the problems are uncountable! Where do we start? From Genesis to Revelation, just pick a spot and you will find problems. My favorite books are Psalms and Proverbs. Anything else na pandora's box. There was the old testament and then the new testament. Does it means that God changes his words and laws to suit man's whims and caprices? If we are made in HIS own image and likeness, then we are all in trouble. No offense please-just brain storming. |
Yeah, you are right! Moving forward individually is also a good thing. That is why I choose not to live in 9ja. That is my contribution to move forward so I can learn from others who are at least trying to get it right even when not anywhere near perfect. It is better than allowing my family to retrogress in poverty. Famous words---Don't ask what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country! Since I sometimes question if 9ja is a country, I am not willing to make a hugh sacrifice. Sometimes I think 9ja is a geographical area without shape, form or substance. You only can point to it on the map of the world. But what it really is, no one knows. So I sometimes believe if you die for it, since it is not a country, you die in vain, America is a country. No death is ever wasted. You can be buried in the cemetary with past presidents to honour you, if you die in Iraq wen no concern you sef, and your family go get green card. Wetin 9ja go give you? Solutions please. |
We can only keep trying till we get it right. Do we just lay down in our graves and die? Solutions and brain storming for our beloved country please. We just might start changing for the better. We are already "six feet" under the ground so you can not keep beating someone who is already dead. What we need now is resuscitative measures for Nigeria. Nigeria don die finish. It needs serious CPR! Everything that has a beginning has an end. The choice is ours. We cannot keep fighting ourselves over past looters. They are individually getting their "just rewards". Let us concentrate on empowering the average Nigerian. Once again, Education is the key! Nigerians are natural born "open eyes". Give them power and you will never take it away again. But we have to stop fighting ourselves first with "tribalism". America is made up of all types of people and they can still stand today because not only are they educated about their rights but will not hesitate to die for that their country. Just shoot one gun for Nigeria, every one is under the bed without finding out if it is a burst balloon or fire cracker. We love life too much no matter if it is the suffering and smiling type of life. We need to think in terms of "we" not "i". E go hard us oh! |
Thanks once again. Yes, I am a free thinker. I think about the natural, supernatural or supranatural. Anything to give inner peace. As long as it is "good". I believe in positive energy that helps me and others no matter where it comes from. Be it Olokun, Sango, Christianity, Islam or whatever. Let me say for clarification purposes, it takes a cocktail of beliefs to arrive at that destination we all try to reach. Take the good in all and form yours! One doctrine cannot have all the answers since we are all different peoples. As long as it does not maim, kill, slander, disrespect or incapacitate-- I am all for it. Anything good sha is all that counts. The "Supernatural" notion also has it's place in healing and promoting wellbeing. It is all about what you strongly believe in or "faith". Abi no be so ? |
This "Rome was not built in a day" story is getting as old as the hills. It is 47 years and we are still comparing ourselves to ancient civilizations in this age of ipods ? Look, let us stop deceiving ourselves. Does it take 200 years to have electricity. water supply, transportation and healthcare Yet we are supplying Chad, Benin and Ghana electricity. It took America many years to come to where they are. True, but in the absence of nothing and no one to compare to. They started from scratch. Nigeria cannot use the same excuse in this jet age when everything is on fast track. We should be trying to play catch up since all the resources are at our disposal. Education is the key guys! The educational sector needs a total overhaul. We need our youths know what is out there, you trust now, Nigerians become masters of the game in anything they set out to do. Take the notion of GSM for example. Since this came to Nigeria, every gateman and pure water seller can text message and "flash". We have perfected the art of using GSM phones. Let us not under rate the ability of Nigerians to fast track and catch up. We need to invite the chineese to lecture us on self pride and thinking in terms of "we" instead of "i". |
Let Y'ardua put his cards on the table first, tell us what he has for the future than we can go from there. If you have been jilted by so many lovers, you are prone to be more cautious in your future relationships. We cannot rally around him without knowing his agenda, lest you become a useless sacrifice. Let us wait and see! Too many failed promises in the past. By the end of the year, we will find out what he is up to. It does not take long to figure out what Nigerians are up to most of the time, since we are all wired the same and we all know each others games. So this is not going to take long. Give him 6 months! Patience guys, patience! |
I love the excerpt on Jainism you provided. You have given me something else to explore and I say thank you. ![]() |
That is okay too. It is called freedom to customize your beliefs by taking the good in all to form yours. Afterall, what are we all looking for? Is it not inner peace and the notion of striving to be better individuals till death I am a free thinker looking for ways to solve my own state of confusion in this world. If it works for you fine! No problem with that. You cannot teach others what to believe in. You find it yourself so you do not live like a parrot. Born a christian, I have not had much luck. Being a free thinker has made me less gullible to some unquestionable beliefs and traditions. I am more philosophical and reasonable in the way I deal with others. With christianity, I kept forcing myself to chant and profess things I did not believe in my heart because my parents made me do so. I cannot live like that in this short life. I will take my chances with the consequences of the so called "after life". |
And what come out of the arrest ?? Did it change 9ja in anyway Just witch hunting as usual. Waste of time and resources like I said, instead of moving 9ja forward. ![]() |
I am so happy that most of us realize the roles of religion in our lives. It is how you use it that matters. Following blindly is the greatest sin. I truly believe there is a higher power and all does not exist in a vacuum. The nature of this supreme being is what I am still trying to understand and most religions especially christianity and islam have done a terrible job trying to explain it. A religion that does not allow you to ask questions amounts to terrorism. Buddhism like one of the forumites mentioned teaches inner strength, humility and the notion of "superiorty" over other religions is absent. I think I like that! |
It is interesting that Nigerians will import anything and become masters of the game. Here we are importing all kinds of religions only to carry them on our heads more than those who invented them. While we bowed our heads in prayer or pennance, the smart masters looted and are still looting every known resources availble to our land. Please do not get me wrong. It is wise to have something to believe in. But since it does not reflect in our lives, I think it is pointless and a game of show and tell. We have all kinds of churches and mosques in every street corner in Nigeria but have nothing to show for it. We remain one of most selfish and godless people on the face of the earth with all the holy holy!!!!!! oh please!!!!!! |
I think Y'ardua should start afresh and formulate his own policies towards alleviating the poor circumstances of the common Nigerian. Not to use resources to witch hunt people that should have gone to jail 20 years ago. He should not be responsible for cleaning OBJ's cowardly mess. We need to move on not backwards. Make a few scape goats in the first year of his term and others will sit up! |
Obj has always been an epitome of failure-----spiritually, physically, mentally, economically, and politically. So why are we surprised Has he done anything in the past that warrants faith in him as a leader? Where ever the ill wind blows him is where you will find him. He is passive--- a do nothing president--- and turns a blind eye or deaf ear to things that need attention. He is a typical Nigerian that thinks of himself alone and none other. People like that often forget that it is the generations to come that will suffer. How visionless! |
