A Nigerian woman and her two children, both under the ages of 10, were burnt to death in a fire outbreak that took place inside her one room apartment in Alikor estate in Choba, Rivers state, today April 28th, 2020. According to reports, the fire is said to have been caused by the kerosene the woman sells. Her body and those of her children have been evacuated and deposited at the morgue. www./news

A tragic incident took place on the 25th of April, 2020 as three sisters between the ages of 14 and 20 drowned in a river at Amaeze village in Ishiagu community of Ebonyi State. The three siblings who attended Comprehensive secondary school in Ishiagu, were found floating on the water, however what led to their deaths is yet to be uncovered. The siblings have reportedly been buried beside the stream without caskets, as culture and tradition demand. Founder of Omega Fire Ministry, Apostle Johnson Suleman, has called on the federal government to allow pastors heal COVID-19 patients through prayers. This is despite the fact that the World Health Organisation (WHO) had warned people against unscientific claims suggesting cure for the respiratory disease caused by coronavirus. According to Church Times, the clergyman said there was need for the government to grant permission to those with gift of divine healing to visit isolation centres and heal people with the killer virus. Suleman claimed that such measure is needed if the country hopes to make meaningful progress in the fight against the novel disease. “Please (referring to the government) permit us to go and pray for COVID-19 patients. Allow us to go there (isolation centres), that is why there are men of God,” he said. “If you are really anointed to pray for the sick, this is the time because what is holding the world is sickness. In the latest update of the Covid-19 pandemic in the country, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC has just announced that there’s been 114 new cases of the novel Coronavirus in the country with 80 new cases in Lagos, 21 in Gombe and 5 in Abuja. In the latest update of the Covid-19 pandemic in the country, One hundred and seventeen new cases have been reported as of Tuesday evening, April 21th by the National Centre for Disease Control. In a new update on their Twitter page, the NCDC reports that there’s seventeen new cases in Lagos, FCT, Kano, Borno, Katsina, Ogun, Rivers, Bauchi. It is a drink developed by the Malagasy Institute for Applied Research (IMRA) of the African country and made from mugwort and endemic plants for “curative and preventive” purposes. Madagascar’s President Andry Rajoelina has announced the marketing of a “traditional remedy” made up of medicinal plants as “curative and preventive” against the coronavirus . FCTA Authorities have announced that all those who participated in the burial ceremony of President Buhari’s Chief of Staff, Abba Kyari have been identified and isolated, including the man spotted in a viral video carelessly discarding his Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). The Health and Human Services Secretariat of the FCTA admitted that some of those who participated in the burial were not properly kitted and also dumped their PPEs unprofessionally after the burial ceremony.
