higgs: Most non biological poisons can still be detected from the corpses. An autopsy is neccessary to rule out the possibility of criminal poisoning. The doctor who advised them to go home and use palm oil should be punished and re-educated.The hospital should urgently improve on its toxicology testing and treatment capacity. Quite a sad case.
Sadly most hospitals in our dear country are severely underfunded and understaffed. The mere fact that the toxicology could only be done in Lagos is a case in point.
How dare we call out our government officials who are underfunding hospitals, how dare we call out the ministries of Health for not having facilities in place to help preserve lives...
Yet people expect healthcare workers to perform magic and when they dont, they are negligent right?
Elizab: Please how does alport syndrome, oxalosis ,cystinosis lead to chronic kidney disease
Alport affects the kidney filteration membrane whicj causes proteinuria, sodium wasting and all ... Not sure if theres associated hematuria but I think it does Cystinosis causes cystinuria which can lead to cystin stones which can cause obstructive uropathy... Same for oxalosis oxalate stones which block the ureters or bladder nd cause obstructive uropathy
BRYAN999: hello bro! these words you just uttered really inspired me, I am an aspirant of medicine myself and i don't want to bore you with the long story, but it hasn't been easy for me... I just went through your profile (My apologies ) and I saw your personal quote:the reason for time is so, everything doesn't happen at once. I really keyed into this word, cos it was as if it was just speaking to me. are you a medical doctor sir?
No... Still a medstudent.... All the best in your endeavors....
Also for anyone with not so ok results, don't let that stop you, you don't have to be a genius to study medicine you rather you need to be hardworking and diligent, don't let anything stop you... You just could be the one to save healthcare in Nigeria...
Hey guy, how goes the applications window?. I pray everyone gets in to the course of their choice at any school. Also remember to believe in yourself, don't lose hope because any exam didn't go well, keep having faith and if it doesn't work out don't stop trying.
There's so much good to be done, keep the fire burning don't let it die and remember getting in is the easiest part.....
Dsplendid: Sir, which textbook can you recommend for biochemistry?
l downloaded Harpers but deleted it, I couldn't comprehend it.
I used had issues in the beginning, especially when using harpers however when I switched to Chatterj I did better and later used vasudevan by the time I went back to Harpers I had no problem understanding Indian books makes sense
Congratulations to the newly admitted into medicine and dentistry.... Keep the fire burning...
If you didn't get in dont let it depress you.. Go back to your drawing table, restrategize.... You will make it surely... Many of us here went through the struggle... Some of us are in path and pharm class already some about to graduate... Just keep hitting....
To my chiefs in the journey already... I pray God gives us strength to go on.... To the founding fathers how practice na?
GdexFolami: I guess you just have passion for medical field You have to b specific about your goals in life. And I think it's high time I speak about this to every aspirant ... Okay ,what's the basis of your passion really? Is it to save lifes? Is the monetary aspect? Is it that you want to b respected for being a doctor or wareva? Is it the pressure from home? OR you want to prove to people that have underated you? Truth be told ,many people are deluded about medical ambitions. You need to have at least one solid reason for going for what you're going for not vague and ending reasons. I won't tell you the best reasons because inside of you ,you know the reasons that can't fail you along the way .For you to survive as a medical student or medical practioner without lamenting on minor hurdles you may face along way ,your reason for starting the journey must be solid enough to fall back on when little challenges arise.
So tru bro especially when one faces the stress of path and pharm... Its hellish
Donwyz: "do not give up''.....well spoken bro but its not easy o....especially wn family, friends and society just loses faith in you and make u feel like u are a failure and never gonna make it
I understand that bro but in the end you are all you got you gotta be the "Rock" have faith in ur self
Fire still burning here... I remember wen I was an aspirant, part 1 mbbs done and dusted. To the aspirants in the house keep on pushing don't give up, don't let age deter you.... Where there is a will there is a way. All the best in advance...
