Hey Fam.

I have a friend who’s still awaiting a decision on her application for the fall term. Because of the start of classes is so close, she’s deferred her admission for the winter term.

What should her next steps be?

Does she have to update her application on IRCC or take no action and wait for her PPR?

The best bet you have is if someone is going to Nigeria, they might help you with such items like phones.

Using Couriers to send such items like phone is not economical. You would be better off buying said phone or item in Nigeria.

However if you are in the buying and selling business (bulk items), then you might want to consider exportation using exportation services.

Thanks.

I’m not sure anyone is going back at this time. So I’m just looking for the best of the uneconomical options.

You did not read the post but rushed to comment.
I blame the editorial for portraying the news this way. You should have at least tried to read it too.

The woman grabbed his hand and pulled him closer, he had to tap/slap/beat the woman’s hand to be let go so he can continue his greetings with others. There’s no reason he should be apologizing in the first place.

Aramco is to Saudi Arabia what NNPC is to Nigeria.

Today, Aramco is rumoured to be the most valuable company in the world and where’s your NNPC.

Hey fam,

I need help.
My dad has been trying to book an appointment for his visa interview to renew his visa which is about to expire. His old email address has refused to work. Some other people have told him that you need to create a new email address to book an appointment.
How is true is that?

He’s able to log in with his original email address, but when he tries to make a booking,
The exact error he gets says “Your personal Details match the profile which already exists in our database. The user ID of that profile is “xyz123@yahoo.com" If you created this profile in the past, you have the option to transfer your account to the previous one in order to avoid any inconveniences that may  arise from having multiple accounts.

Also, the email address they’re referring to and asking him to transfer to is the same email address he’s logging in with.
He has selected “transfer account”, they asked him to upload his passport, but since then nothing has changed.

Is there smth new about booking appointment I should know about?

Need some answer please!

Foreign Affairs / Re: France Imposes Digital Tax On Google, Apple, Facebook, Amazon by Milllz: 8:01pm On Jul 12, 2019
olajide8:

China has a market, let's not try to be biased about it - 1billion people with the power of manufacturing for export to the world - but if they (Google and co) are not feeling the impact of the ban in China - it means the European and other markets (Africa, south america, India and the middle east) are actually where, they are making their (Google facebook and co) largest revenues - and if other European countries follow suit, it is certain their revenues, would be hit by this tax levy - and this could have a more damaging impact on profitability, now imagine if France could raise more income from this tax, Greece would follow suit, Spain Germany Netherland and it would continue like that, numbers don't lie - honestly speaking I am not moved by who claims what, only the facts and figures - fundamental analysis and trends lines

What happened is very clear, China wants control of everything in their country, they outrightly banned google, Facebook never stood a chance. They’re a big market, so big that, these banned companies would be hundreds of billions richer today if not for the ban. But no one said anything against it. It was unfair trade practices.

The European Union wanted a common tax but they couldn’t agree on anything for the digital tax. I’m sure it’s because countries like Luxembourg where these companies move their money from because of low tax don’t want anything to do with the tax.

No one can say these taxes weren’t targeted at American, even the names alone are all American. The good thing is that, this is the wrong time to try to cheat Americans. Trump is there to fight, left, right and center. He has also instructed his team to begin investigation. Whether Europe is trying to punish them for the Iran deal, they’d still lose, with the way Trump is handling China, I was surprised France would make such a move now. You don’t need a soothsayer to know that Trump will give them back the tariff ten-fold and keep other European countries at bay. Don’t forget these countries keep fining them billions of Euros regularly for even the flimsiest reasons.

And for Huawei, I don’t have anything to say. I laugh when people say they’ll create their own OS. Sometimes I’d reply and ask them, would you buy a phone without maps, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, google etc

Interesting times I expect more European countries to levy taxes on them - let's see how trump would feel after he banned Huawei in the US

I hope you know Google, Facebook and lots of American companies have been banned in China for many years now and no one is screaming foul. Stop giving Huawei undue credit.

Onyemadonald:
The French Parliament on Thursday adopted, by a final vote of the Senate, the introduction of a tax on `GAFA’, making France one of the first countries to impose a tax on digital giants.

The GAFA tax refers to an acronym for Google, Apple, Facebook and Amazon.

The digital tax is endorsed by the opposition-controlled upper house, paving the way to the eurozone second largest power to unilaterally tax internet giants by three per cent on much of their digital sales in France.

GAFA targets digital companies with global annual sales of more than 750 million euros ($845.6 million) and sales in France of at least 25 million euros.

Good day my people, please I would be Vancouver bound God willing at the end of the month and would love to know what airline is best to use win reference with the transit visa wahala as this would be my first time traveling and I have no usa visa of any form.

Thanks

Now is not really a good time to book a flight and especially not in the month of April. Prices are quite high right now.

If you haven’t picked a particular date yet, try using wakanow, expedia or other online travel agents to search for flights using prospective dates, when you see a suitable one, you can go to the airline’s website and book directly. The trick is to Play around with the dates until you find something cheap.
Avoid American owned airlines like United airlines since you have to transit and you don’t have a transit visa.

Investment / Saudi Aramco Is The World's Most Profitable Company For 2018 by Milllz: 11:34pm On Apr 01, 2019
Unlike our NNPC which report record loss every year, Aramco of Saudi Arabia is the most profitable company in the world.

It was always suspected, and now it’s official. Saudi Aramco is the world’s most profitable company.

Jealously guarded financial data about the kingdom’s prized asset were disclosed to bond investors for the first time on Monday. Aramco’s $111.1 billion profit in 2018 easily dwarfed all other businesses on the planet, a stunning result for a company that also paid the Saudi government $102 billion in taxes last year.

The company made a whopping $111 billion in 2018, the data shows. By comparison, Apple made $59.53 billion in fiscal 2018. Saudi Aramco also made more money than J.P. Morgan Chase, Google-parent Alphabet, Facebook and Exxon Mobil combined. Put together, those companies made nearly $106 billion in 2018, according to FactSet.

Saudi Aramco made its financial information available in a prospectus for a $10 billion bond sale, which the company plans to use to finance a nearly $70 billion stake in Saudi Arabia's petrochemicals company.

Despite Aramco's massive earnings, the company did not receive the top credit rating from agencies like Moody's since its heavy dependence on the country's economy could be a headwind for the company. Moody's issued an A1 rating for Aramco. Companies like Chevron and Exxon Mobil have ratings of Aa2 and Aaa, which are higher than Aramco's.
