CastedDude:
The Prince of Wales and heir to the British throne, Charles and his wife, the Duchess of Cornwall, Camilla, have arrived in Abuja. The royals were welcomed by dignitaries at the airport as Prince Charles inspected the Guard of Honor.

Upon arrival, the Prince of Wales and his wife will be welcomed by President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa.

During their visit to Nigeria, the Royal Highnesses will undertake a series of engagements in Abuja and Lagos.

They will meet with some of Nigeria’s dynamic youth as well as traditional leaders, the business community, the armed forces, and people from the arts, fashion and charitable sector.

The visit will highlight key themes in both nations’ relationship, including the importance of Commonwealth ties, youth opportunity, business and entrepreneurship, educating of women and girls, and defence co-operation, among other issues.

This is the third time the Prince of Wales will be visiting the country, his previous visits were in 1990, 1999 and 2006, while it will be the Duchess of Cornwall’s first visit to Nigeria.

CrimeRe: Driver And Conductor Fight In A Gutter In Lekki, Lagos Over Payment. Photo by mimimile93: 10:48pm On Nov 05, 2018
dainformant:
Pandemonium broke out earlier today between a driver and a bus conductor along Lekki/Victoria Island expressway over issue of payment.

According to reports, the driver (in red polo) refused to pay the conductor N1,500 for yesterday's job which resulted into a heated argument and later degenerated into a fight.

The duo took the fight which reportedly started from the bus seriously as they landed in a gutter filled with dirty water, yet they didn't stop after being left by the residents and passersby to fight till the end.

The winner of the street fight was not revealed as Facebook user Collins Edemenya who witnessed the shocking incident captured them.

PoliticsRe: Buhari Will Win 2019 Election With A Wide Margin - Presidency by mimimile93: 9:05pm On Nov 05, 2018
nimisola:
President Muhammadu Buhari's Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, has described the 2019 presidential election as a contest between light and darkness that he expects the president to win.

While speaking during an interview on Channels Television's Politics Today on Sunday, November 4, 2018, the president's spokesperson said Nigerians will decide on the right candidate who'll move the nation forward.

He said, "What we know is that a contest is ahead and it is going to be a contest between light and darkness, between integrity and people who have question marks; between a man whose life is plain and transparent and a man with so much opacity that you can't say, well, this is his life, this is his background and this is how he got this and that.

"It's going to be a fair contest and, at the end of the day, Nigerians will decide."

The 2019 presidential election, scheduled for February 16, 2019, is expected to be closely-fought between President Buhari of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, of the People's Democratic Party (PDP).

Buhari will win 2019 election with a wide margin - Presidency

During Sunday's interview, Adesina also expressed his belief that President Buhari will win with a wider margin than he used to win the 2015 contest.

He said he believes Nigerians will vote for continuity so that the president can consolidate on the achievements of his first term.

He said, "Our conviction is that the party will win by a wider margin, far wider margin, than in 2015. Look around, what is the alternative? Can we afford to take the country back into the infamous past? It would be very sad. It would be quite shameful to take Nigeria back into the past.

"The best option for Nigeria is a continuity of what we have now so that it can be properly consolidated for a better future and Nigerians know it.

"The option is President Buhari to be re-elected. Our confidence is that President Buhari will win the election."

In 2015, the president won with 15,424,921 votes, 2.5 million votes more than second-placed Goodluck Jonathan who won 12,853,162 votes. It was the first time an opposition candidate had beaten an incumbent president in a democratic election.

Mrcomedimatic:
Senate President, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki Appeals to FG, Labour over Proposed Strike

Senate President, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki, has appealed to both the Federal Government and the leadership of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC)/Trade Union Congress (TUC) to work together in order to avert the proposed workers’ strike in the interest of Nigeria.

Saraki, in a statement by his Special Adviser (Media and Publicity), Yusuph Olaniyonu, urged the two sides to demonstrate sensitivity and concern for the plight of ordinary Nigerians who are already battling with the harsh economic conditions in the country.

He expressed appreciation for the patience displayed by the labour leaders as he noted that the issue of the new minimum wage could have been resolved long before now.

“My Appeal is for the two sides to immediately move fast, shift from their extreme positions and create a new middle ground in the negotiations for the new minimum wage. The shift in positions can be done even before the period of the commencement of the proposed strike action so that we do not further create tension within the economy.

“At this point, the interest of the people should be paramount in our minds. Any labour strike will cause inconvenience and discomfort to our people. While the government and labour are representing the interest of the people, it is important to also ensure we avoid any action that will not show sensitivity and sensibility to the plight of the people”, Saraki stated.

Signed
Yusuph Olaniyonu
Special Adviser (Media and Publicity) to Senate President.

This 93 added to your moniker means only one thing. Your year of birth. At your age, I expect more but it's obvious you need that 'sensesilin' drug.

Here's the prescription;
Take 2 tablets in the morning.
4 in the afternoon.
16 at night.

You will be monitored to see how you're responding to treatment after three days.
U need the drugs more than I do because it's quite clear dat u lack common sense to think dat d 93 on my moniker represents my year of birth.

What will u say about a moniker dat has '2321'? Same year of birth?

Search for a thread on 'WHAT INSPIRED YOUR MONIKER?'

look for my comment on that thread then u will know what the '93' on my moniker represents.

PoliticsRe: Alaibe, Other APC Chieftains Defect To PDP In Bayelsa by mimimile93: 9:43pm On Nov 03, 2018
[s]
Binikingdowm:
Former Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission, Mr. Timi Alaibe, and some other chieftains of the All Progressives Congress in Bayelsa State have defected to the Peoples Democratic Party.

Among the defectors were an ally of former Governor Timipre Sylva, Chief Nathan Egba; Chief Rufus Abadi; a former Secretary to the State Government, Chief Gideon Ekeowei, who led other APC members to the PDP in a colourful ceremony in Yenagoa on Thursday.

The defected top APC leaders were received by Governor Seriake Dickson; the South-South Zonal Chairman of the party, Chief Emmanuel Ogidi; the Chairman of the PDP in the state, Chief Moses Cleopas; and other top political leaders in the state.

In his remarks, Dickson said that Alaibe and the other top APC chieftains were the politicians who gave him the tough fight in the state governorship election of 2015.

He said that with the defection of the large number of APC leaders to the ruling PDP in the state, the APC had become a weak party, incapable of winning elections in Bayelsa.

The governor urged members of the APC to join the PDP to play the expected leadership role in the development of Bayelsa and Niger Delta region.

He said, “We have enough room for everybody, for all those who want to join our party. This is the fifth rally the party has put together in the state. I am especially happy to be here in the spirit of reconciliation, (to have) a new Bayelsa and service to our people, rather than self aggrandisement.

“From today, you have been automatically restored to your leadership positions, the positions you occupied before you left. I urge you all to return to base to play the leadership role that you all can and will play.

“Let me make it clear that firstly the PDP you are coming back to is unlike the party you left; it is a party of order, conscientious building, law and order and mutual respect.

“We are in the opposition and a party in the opposition cannot conduct itself in a divisive way. We need all of you to work as supporters and advisers. I take you as members of my advisory team, you are no longer adversaries. Drop the adversarial toga. It belongs to the other party.”

Also speaking, Alaibe said that he had been to the APC and had seen the difference between both parties.

He described the PDP as a party of Ijaw people with interest in matters affecting the welfare of the people of the Niger Delta.

He said, “You can see the party in Bayelsa, and the quality of leadership provided by the governor. I am here because the PDP is the place to be.

“The PDP is an Ijaw party. It takes on issues of restructuring. It communicates on the issues that affect the Niger Delta. That is why we are all ‘Atikulated’ (for the PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar).”

The National Vice Chairman of the PDP, South-South, Chief Emmanuel Ogidi, urged party members to equip themselves with their permanent voter cards as the general elections was already close.

“We have a war on our hands; those who don’t have PVCs should try and get them. February is not far. We need to deliver our candidate, our national and state assembly members,” he said.
