Politics › Re: At Least One Million Traders Have Benefited From Tradermoni – Osinbajo by mimimile93: 9:47pm On Nov 15, 2018 |
cute9ja: Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has said that no fewer than one million traders have already benefited from the TraderMoni Scheme of the Federal Government.
“The first phase of the TraderMoni was targeted at two million petty traders across the country, but over a million have today benefited from the scheme,” the News Agency of Nigeria quoted Osinbajo as saying.
Osinbajo was in Bodija and Oje markets in Ibadan, Oyo State capital, on Thursday, during which he introduced the TraderMoni Scheme of the Federal Government to the traders.
He was accompanied by Oyo State Governor, Abiola Ajimobi, alongside other government officials.
According to the Federal Government, the TraderMoni is a collateral-free loan that ranges from N10,000 to N50,000, depending on how well the borrowers are able to make repayments.
All petty traders and artisans in Nigeria are eligible to access the loan, government said.
Osinbajo said, “We have observed that nobody wants to give these traders credit because lenders believe they won’t pay back.
“The market traders represented the most significant percentage of those who engage in commercial activities.
“Both the TraderMoni and the MarketMoni schemes seeks to address that large population or persons involved in commercial activities who usually don’t have access to credit.”
Some of the traders, who spoke to NAN at the markets, lauded the initiative of the Federal Government.
The Babaloja of Oje market, Mr. Saliu Delesolu, lauded the Federal Government for initiating the programme, saying it would enhance petty trading.
“This is the first time a government in this country will be extending credit facility to petty traders. We appreciate this and thank President Muhammadu Buhari for this.
“We assure our members that the money would go round. Not everybody could benefit from it at once but we have been assured that the programme will be institutionalised,” he said.
A petty trader, Mrs. Olajumoke Ajao, also corroborated Delesolu’s claim, saying the government must be commended for the gesture.

Vocnewsblog: “We make a living by what we get. We make a life by what we give.” ― Winston S. Churchill “I lost my husband early this year January 2018, and he died in active service with the Nigerian Air Force.” “I have been able to pay my children’s school fees, but I am facing difficulty with their textbooks.”
Mrs. Vera Biayeibo is the wife of Late Flight Sergeant Oliver Biayeibo an Ijaw indigene of Delta State, who died on the 28th of January this year in active service to the Nigerian Air Force. Narrating how the husband passed on she said; “He complained of being tired during one of his working days on an aircraft, and his commandant ordered him to go and rest, he obeyed the command, not having the slightest knowledge that it was going to be his last day on earth".
The family is blessed with two handsome boys and a beautiful girl and they are all in school. Before the demise of her husband she said she was working with a company in Lagos. But she got dismissed before her husband died, and that was when she decided to start a business for herself, which is yielding some little profit for her today, which she has been using to provide for the needs of her children.
Mrs. Vera is into the production of liquid soap and she sells it around the Airforce Base where she resides, and she also sells shoes and bags too to some of her friends within her locality.
“All thanks to God, I have been able to pay my children’s school fees, just the textbooks is what I am finding difficult to get for them, I have been praying to God to send a helper my way. And God has brought you (the Voice of Divine Truth International Outreach) my way and I am very grateful…” – so she said after the International Coordinator, Mr. Gregory Azemobor inquired from her, how she had been coping with the children’s education.
Mr. Azemobor admonished her not to throw in the towel to life challenges that everything is going to be alright. And right there, the International Coordinator on behalf of the team presented her the cash donation ₦20,000 to support her business and implore her to use it judiciously to boost her business and take care of her children. Expressing her gratitude to the organization with smiles all over face, she went further to advice other widows out there to look for something to do to take care of their children, rather than involve in the unchaste act.
Our target is to empower 1000 Widows with a free grant of ₦20,000 each, to enable them to start or boost their petty businesses. The goal of this project is to economically empower poor widows to improve their livelihood and be able to cater for their families.
The core message of our widow’s empowerment project; Beloved, the only reason why we are showing you the videos and pictures of our charitable activities is to practically teach, demonstrate and inspire you to imbibe the message of love for humanity. As you watch and see us help widows who are in need, please be inspired also to do likewise. There are Widows around you, go out of your way to show them the love of God. God will not come down from heaven to that; you should represent His interest here on earth. Mrs Vera pls be very careful of Mr. Azemobor. I don't trust Igbos. Don't give him ur cell num. Don't let him pay u a visit alone. If he isnt with his team. Don't pay him a visit. God will bless ur hustle. Meanwhile: Do y'all noticed that since PMB came to power no bombin of churches, mosques, market places and motor parks. God bless PMB. GEJ used money meant to fight terrorism to give his wife to build a five star hotel. God punish dem. Sai baba iza goal. |
Health › Re: Lady Returns To U.S. On Life Support After Going To Mexico For Plastic Surgery by mimimile93: 12:26pm On Nov 15, 2018 |
Amagite3: A Dallas real estate agent is on life support with brain damage after she traveled to a clinic in Mexico last month for several plastic surgery procedures including a nose job and breast implant replacement.
Before Laura Avila's procedures actually began, there were major complications.
CBS News correspondent Anna Werner spoke to a prosecutor in Mexico who is now handling an investigation into the Rino Center where Laura was treated.
No formal charges have been filed yet, but the clinic has been raided.
Enrique Cruz said he was at the Rino Center in Ciudad Juarez last month, when his healthy fiancée Laura went in for plastic surgery. Eight hours later, doctors said there was a problem.
"The only thing that they told me was that they had to take her to the hospital because that, the anesthesia wasn't wearing off and they did not know why," Cruz said.
Laura's sister Angie Avila said doctors at the Mexican hospital where her sister was transferred, told them the Rino Center put the anesthesia in the wrong place in Laura's spine, her brain swelled, her kidneys failed and she went into cardiac arrest.
"I just said to myself, 'This isn't happening. This can't happen,'" Angie said. "Because of the brain damage she suffered, she'll never be our Laura again."
Laura's fiance said he researched the clinic and found positive reviews online. Angie said they have family in Mexico and growing up often crossed the border to visit from El Paso.
"It sounds crazy to say, 'Oh they went to another country,' but to us, you know, it's home. It's familiar," Angie said.
Laura's family have to decide very soon whether to pull life support.

Crime › Re: Houses And Shops Burnt In Nnung Oku Ekanem, Awa In Akwa Ibom. Photos by mimimile93: 11:23am On Nov 15, 2018 |
dainformant: Youths believed to be hoodlums have burnt several houses and shops at Nnung Oku Ekanem, at Awa community, the hometown of the Akwa Ibom State Governor, Udom Emmanuel. The crisis, which started since Tuesday, has rendered several families homeless.
According to a report by Ofonime Honesty, on the fateful Tuesday morning, an indigene of Afaha Ubium community (name witheld) sauntered into neighbouring Nung Oku Ekanem alongside his wife to stealthily harvest cassava on a plot of land belonging to Mr. Evans Akpan Evans.
The suspects were caught in the act and handed over to police officers from the Onna Divisional Police Station, Abat, the headquarters of Onna Local Government Area.
Enroute the police station, armed youth from the suspects' village, having barricaded the land border between Afaha Ubium and Nung Oku Ekanem, descended on the police officers, beating them to pulp. They equally manhandled the complainant, Mr. Evans Akpan. The hoodlums succeeded in rescuing the suspects.
The police team later reinforced and stormed Afaha Ubium to rearrest the suspects. They however drove into an ambush of well armed hoodlums. In the ensuing fisticuff, a police officer (name withheld) was reportedly macheted thrice by one of the assailants.
Sources say attempts were made by the youth to snatch the policemen's rifles.
The injured police officer, apparently reacting in self defence, shot dead one of the matchete wielding hoodlums.
The suspects were successfully rearrested by the police. By Tuesday evening, hoodlums believed to be mercenaries stormed Nnung Oku Ekanem with rifles and machetes. They proceeded to the palace of the village head, Eteidung Ntiense Nda, where they dumped the corpse of the slain member of their community.
They destroyed properties at the palace before shooting dead and carting away two pigs at the monarch's piggery.
The hoodlums proceeded to destroy the Nung Oku Ekanem village council as well as loot and destroy over 65 houses in the community.

Angelanest: Ahead of Saturday's By-elections, a police helicopter was seen hovering around Omu-Aran Town, in Kwara South creating panic among residents.
According to eyewitness report, the police aircraft hovered for about 20 minutes before landing in one primary schools.
On landing, the helicopter was immediately surrounded by 3 police vehicles while items carefully packaged in 5 sacks were offloaded from the aircraft to some vehicles.
This is coming after Kwara State Governor, Abdulfatah Ahmed, raised alarm over the influx of suspected political thugs into the state as by-election for member of House of Representatives to represent Ekiti, Irepodun and Isin Federal constituency approaches.
Mr Ahmed, who declared that the state is under siege, dropped the hint yesterday when he received Concerned Kwara South Youth at the Government House, Ilorin.
The governor expressed fear over the redeployment of Divisional Police Officers (DPOs) in the Kwara South senatorial district by the Inspector General of Police, alleging that the IGP’s actions at this critical period called for serious concern.
