Friends, come to think of it, are you guys sure the next stage wouldn't be post-pone till after Ramadan? Ramadan is accurately 3 weeks from today, what do you guys think? I strongly belief that no Muslim is expected to be drilled during fasting.
May God grant our heart desires (Amen).
One love.
My dear take your mind off that, i assure if it happens after Ramadan it wont be because of the fasting but something else. On several occasions selection boards have held during Ramadan and it is left for candidates involved to fast or forfeit and pay back later, they just don't want to know.

I'm new to dhis whole thing, please does the 3.2km jog/run have anything to do with the airforce and it's selection process? Kindly enlighten me°
Yes, that will be done in The next stage we are waiting for after you must have passed your medical examination. This is just to check you level of endurance and stamina because upon resuming training jogging / running long distance will be a constant thing. One must be fit.

No,that's wrong thought, the reason why the selection was postponed is known to them But after all they have done with the selection, final list will be released which Will be in two batches A and B per each states, whereby a date will be announced for the commencement of the training those in batch A in this year recruitment will join the batch B of last year for the six months training starting early July. DSSC selection is different,
Gentleman I am aware of the plan to put them together, which is not even definite at this point. A point of view is a point of view not an definite info.As you can read I never gave a reason for the postponement I only said even if it is moved they won't be losing time in their case as a batch is even still waiting. Thank you

quick one mimzy007

the letter of attestation of good character, who should it be addressed to?
thanks
well ,if you ask people on this thread we have numerous. Some went straight to ' To whom it may concern ' as it could be anybody, some addressed theirs to the Air sec, others to the Officer in charge of the enlistment. I haven't done mine by this is a friend used and I think it's OK Considering the Air sec branch is in charge of the process.

The Air Secretary branch,
Nigerian Air force.
NAF headquarters
Area 7, Garki Abuja,
Nigeria.

is it possible they might want to conclude ours before theirs (i.e DSS before SSCE/ND)?
In fact from my own point of view I believe that is what will happen. The Airmen still have another batch waiting to be trained as soon as The current batch passes out in June so even if they don't have their selection board now there is no problem, unlike ours where no one has been enlisted in the last 2 years.

Some1here:
Hello @mimzy007

Trust you're well.
I'd like to know, if successfully enlisted into the Airforce DSSC, is there some sort of possible conversion from whatever you are enlisted as to a Pilot that would actually fly?
I mean besides the conversion to a regular combatant after some specified years.
Something almost immediately after being enlisted, particularly when you already have commercial pilot training.
Thanks.
Piloting is very sensitive in NAF I can't tell you converting to another line will be easy, it's always best to go in as a pilot. The dynamics change from time to time, they appreciate pilots alot but it won't be as swift as you think if you go in through another wing.

Let's put an end to all this nagging, this race is the fastest way to determine you have some stamina to do the work, which they will still work on when you get there. It is Better to do your maths and make peace with it or have a change of heart. In 2013 that was how One Baba who didn't do his research well came for training, few days later he packed his bags saying he was no longer interested, he didn't want to plant his head on the ground and do other things he considered inhumane or whatever. It's either you take it as you see it or let it go, even if we talk from now till next year it won't change so its best to prepare for it.

Please what are the key words to be included in the letter of attestation of good xter?
let me just say, you moniker is funny. cheesy
Key things:
that the person knows you therefore can attest to your good nature.
You havent had any run in with the law in the past or presently.
You are diligent etc and would perform well if given the opportunity.
And whatever good things that could be added, the letter is not suppose be a long letter. Straight to the point.

I just don't understand. Are they looking for Husain Bolt or DSSC enlistees? I'm a medical doctor and I don't see how being a professional runner makes me a better doctor and therefore more useful to them. I think they should concentrate on the medical fitness. If they need runners, they can recruit athletes.
Dear Doctor, before you show your works in the field of medicine in the Air Force you must prove that you are a soldier, it is the one thing everyone in the military must be before your profession comes to play. This thing has nothing to do with how well you will perform as a doctor like you said but the soldier in you must be fit and that is why until you pass the medical screening you won't be allowed to run. Mind you we will be running about 10kms several days of a week during training, it is what makes you different from your conterparts on the other side.

As long as its not an injury, just achy muscles is OK. Because if it's an injury the pressure you put on it will make matters worse.

In 2013 a young man from Ekiti covered the distance in less than 11mins, the commandant had to give him some cash for the impressive performance But before that time he showed me the distance he used to run, it didn't start 3 or 2 weeks to the selection board. Yes lanky people are good when it comes to long distance running but practice makes perfect either way. We need to help ourselves, it's easier said than done.

Pls Mimzy, u're to a greater extent, in d know of d mechanics of NAF enlistment processes. What do u think one shld expect from d selection board, i mean d type of qsts dey could ask during the interview? Tnx for d gud job u hv been doing.
Expect questions based on your specialty, coz virtually every speciality is represented on the board. Question concerning the Air force and armed forces, then current affairs.

This 3.2km isn't beans o. I was on the treadmill today. It took me 18mins to cover 1.86km. And I felt like my soul was coming out of my mouth.

Mimzy007, are you sure man can survive this?
Man can survive it, those who did it don't have 10 heads, on that day when you see the competition passing you by the will to push forward will come like never before. Just get fit enough so that when you push on that day your body won't revolt.

Yes it obvious but for officers we should b thinking of June. Then d point is: How long will it take them to do d selection board screening n wen will d final list come out.
of course for DSSC selection board will be June, airmen won't be done until 1st June and ours will be right after theirs. selection board takes about 10-12 days and if it takes 2 weeks after that for the list to be released July it will be, that's what their calendar says and what they are working towards.

very possible. As you can see from the airmen recruitment process, things are moving fast.

Nice to have someone as informed as you on here.

Please, my LGA attestation letter was signed and stamped at a Liaison office in Lagos, along with 2 of my passports, but couldn't get the attestation of Good xter from the Liaison officer.

Hope the signing by a Liaison officer will not affect me?
Secondly, can another person give me a letter of attestation of good xter?
And if there is any problem, what should i do?

Thank you
Personally I wouldn't advice anyone to sign at the liaison office, unless it's time for the selection board and you are not able to get any of the listed persons. The reason is things seem different this time and you wouldn't want to shoot yourself in the foot by presenting something Contrary to instructions, you may get away with it but then again you may not. As for the attestation of good character, someone else who is In the category of those listed can issue you one.

Hello Mimzy, pls do you work with the Nigerian Air force, you are well informed. And can I knw the next step after this screening pls, and what grace do someone who studied Political science has, in terms of being shortlisted for the next stage, cos my course wasn't listed although related to law and sociology which was listed. Thank you
My dear I don't work with NAF, I'm just the highly interested type, over the years i got to pick alot from here and there.
The next stage is called the selection board, and the list for those who will be invited for it is what we are waiting for. A thorough screening will be done at that stage(credentials, medical screening, exam and oral interview, then the 3.2 km race will all happen there). Those who successfully completed that stage will wait to see if their names appear on the final list for training.
As for those whose courses were not listed, all I can say is going by alot what we have heard in the past, people have scaled through with such an issue, only time will tell for this particular process, don't be discouraged.
