Finally got my passport Semi DIY Change of name for marriage - however I also changed my middle name so I was told to go to Abuja I filled and paid online and took all my documents to Abuja. I had heard online about scarcity of 32 so I paid for 64 pages. Read lots of comments including ewami's experience and took the first flight to Abuja and taxi to Sauka. I went to the green building after the glass house forget the name and at the point of sign in I was asked my mission and who was helping me. I said I paid online. I was directed to one office. I told him I paid online and the man started carrying my file around. From office to office and finally to the capturing glass house. There I waited for about 5 hours. Many people were coming in with their helpers/officers and getting captured quickly. I wasn't called. Eventually I understood that it is because I was diy. Around 3:40 I started making a fuss and I was asked who was helping me and I said no one. I was told to be patient I will be captured. Eventually I tracked the officer who moved my file around and he spoke to them inside and I was captured. After that the file went through some more processes and I was told to go. I will say this was partly diy because I had to keep calling the officer for updates. I captured same day 27/9/2021. My passport was couriered to me yesterday. But date of issue was 18/11/2021. I gave the officer some funds for his help. So not purely diy as I did require assistance. My advice is to pay online and print out your documents and go to the passport office. And take it from there. You may find that you need no assistance especially if it is straightforward renewal or fresh passport. Start early. I spent far less than what they were calling it for express someone told me 120-150,000 . However I spent 57,000 + tips. The officer never asked me for money I just gave him a token at my discretion. My experience with Ibadan office - very disorganized. Not very diy friendly cos they r quite disorganized. But the way out isnto constantly check up on them and keep putting pressure. The Servicom people are quite friendly. Abeokuta office - seemed very organized. Far more organized than Ibadan. General tips - try to go to the passport office very early. Be polite and smile. And just use your persistence to wear them down. Be ready to be patient sha Best to do it in your city so you can visit them and check things for yourself. Then nis portal live chat is quite helpful The facebook page sadly wasn't helpful in my opinion. I only got a response once. My other messages went unanswered. Hope this helps 5 Likes |

NIN is compulsory for Lagos, Abuja and PortHarcourt. Outside these areas, NIN is not mandatory. So it depends on where you are applying elijah101: |

So sorry for all this. I think you should complain widely. On facebook send messages On the NIS portal send messages too There are numbers and emails on the website- so call and email. Also go to Servicom office with all your receipts of payments and acknowledgement slips. And complain. Ask to speak to the PCO. Don't take no for an answer I think the worst case is you may have to submit andcapture again etc. But I think if you make a big enough fuss, you should get some fast track treatment. Also if you know the date you went there, they usually have a book where they enter the files or the submissions. That can help. But I def go back there with all your documents, complain to Servicom and escalate to the pco. daisydamsy: 1 Like |

Was this diy? Somebody has posted about this in the past but I don't recall they posted a solution. I suggest you speak to the Servicom officers. Log into the nis portal and complain on the live chat. Also send a message on Facebook to log your complains. I am not sure but maybe you might need to capture again? dexpendable: |

Go to the designated passport office and submit as soon as possible following which you will be given a date for capturing. Take your evidence of payment, forms, acknowledgement slip, passport photographs and all the required documents along. Lordcrixus: |

When I went to Abeokuta around September, they were giving diys 6 weeks appointment from submission for capturing. I ended up not going through with the process in Abeokuta. So this is not based on personal experience. However, I know that many times persistence pays. If you go very early, start with the Servicom office, even ask to see the PCO if yoy need to, you may be fortunate and get captured. I don't see any harm in trying. Or you may get a definite date to get captured. All the best. daintyprincess: |

Abeokuta doesn't need nin at the moment. Only Lagos, PH and Abuja do. rationalist007: |

Have you submitted your documents. If yes, o suggest that you should physically go there. My suggestion is that you should go very early in the morning. Ask for the Servicom office, there is an officer in charge. Lodge your complaint and don't take no for an answer. That you want to capture the same day. You can ask to see the PCO as well. If no, please submit your documents asap. Engineerito: |

Message them on Facebook. Some people have had success with that. Add your enrollment number from when you got captured in the message. You might need to send the messages multiple times but that may work. All the best Rhuntee: |

There are too many factors. Particularly availability of booklets. My best advice is apply as early as you can. Some people here got it quick like 4 weeks for others as long as 2-3 months. It's probably more straightforward if it's a renewal versus change of name or data. All the best pete3000: |

You can fill an application online and pay online. And take the print out with the reqd documents to the passport office for submission. Then wait for capturing and passport production. If you are in Lagos ensure you have nin registration and that it matches your information ie name, date of birth etc. Once you have had a passport before it is renewal and you will get a new passport. Fresh application is for people who have never had a passport. Read through the previous threads to know what to expect if you decide to go the online route. It is cheaper but has its challenges, though they are surmountable. All the best tosyne55: |

Depends on the location. It's more expensive for Lagos, Abuja and Port Harcourt @ 25k for 32 pages. Other states are 17,000 excluding charges. zyphr: |

Once you pay, you head to the passport office with your documents and print out of payment slips etc. Don't wait for interview date. You will submit your documents and then get a date for capturing omoharry: |

Hi. So sorry about that I think there's someone who posted in the past about having a problem with saanapay and they just sorted out the payment rather than send the refund to their account. I checked saanapay page and they say you can chat them on the weekends. Might be worth a try. I used innovest1pay successfully though . daintyprincess: |
