sankky: Ok From N216 per dollar before this govt of many presidents came in, to N380/$. Next week we hear it has lost N50 to the dollar and so on and so forth. Back and forth story. The funny thing is, you will hear the unscrupulous BMC internet crooks pretentiously hail this. This govt's argument that if they had not come to power, naija would have been worse off is analogous to this my story:
MR JOHN IS TRAVELING FROM LAGOS TO ABUJA IN A PUBLIC BUS. HALF-WAY INTO THE JOURNEY WHICH HAD SO FAR GONE SMOOTHLY WITH NO ACCIDENTS OR TRAUMAS TO ANY PASSENGER, ANOTHER DRIVER COMES IN AND TAKES CONTROL OF THE STEERING WHEEL WITH THE ARGUMENT THAT HE CAN DRIVE BETTER THAN THE FIRST DRIVER. SO, THE JOURNEY CONTINUED WITH THE SECOND DRIVER WHO CLAIMED TO KNOW HOW TO DRIVE MUCH BETTER BEING IN CHARGE OF THE WHEELS. SOMEWHERE ALONG THE ROAD, HE HAS AN ACCIDENT WHICH CAUSED A LOT OF CASUALTIES AND INJURIES TO THE PASSENGERS. AS THE PEOPLE WAILED, HE TELLS THEM HOW LUCKY THEY WERE TO HAVE HIM AS THE DRIVER AT THE VERY TIME THE ACCIDENT HAPPENED BECAUSE HAD IT BEEN THE FIRST DRIVER WAS IN CHARGE, THE ACCIDENT WOULD HAVE BEEN MUCH MORE DEADLY. THIS IS THE ARGUMENTS AND LOGIC THAT THE BMCs ARGUE DAILY ALL OVER THE INTERNET. An incisive analogy! |

NFFGG: if it continues like this, I don't think APC can get any votes from Ondo State people come 2019 Appointment or no appointment, the truth is that having successfully sold Buhari as an infallible god to the gullible people, he will make it a clean sweep of votes from most SouthWest states were he to run again in 2019. Tinubu himself knows this, hence his continued loyalty to Buhari even in the face of obvious ridicule and mal-treatment. May God open the eyes of the people. |

NFFGG: Appointment : What Offence Has Ondo APC Committed?
I am not a member of the All Progressive People's Party, APC, neither am I an apologist of the said party in Ondo State. But as a patriot, a progressive, a concerned citizen of this state, I can't just hide my feelings over some recent federal appointments made so far by President Muhammadu Buhari led administration whereby people from Ondo State were not included or being marginalised.
From the very day president Buhari started releasing some appointments the moment he assumed office as the president of Nigeria, Ondo State APC has been suffering from appointment peripheral and the party had suffered a major set back in getting their wallet share of federal appointment under President Buhari despite their contribution to the victory of the party in the last presidential election that took place across the country in 2015.
It all started from the appointment of a minister. Ondo State did not make the first list even as one of the oil producing states in Nigeria, contributing 70% revenues of this country. When such appointment was eventually made, our state was treated as being insignificant. The president gave us a junior minister who does not have any power to unilaterally take decision affecting his ministry. Prof Daramola Omoyele was appointed as minister of state for the ministry of Niger Delta - a ministry that still has a substantive minister in charge of the day to day administration of the ministry.
As if Ondo State committed an offence, we were recently omitted from the list of career ambassadorial nominees with the excuse that our dear sunshine state did not have a qualified indigene in the federal civil service that could be appointed as career ambassador. If not for the rumpus and agitations of other few affected states, the president wouldn't have reopened the chapter of reconsidering politicians for such important positions.
Just two weeks ago, the president appointed board members for agencies and parastatals, over 25 agencies and parastatals were affected, no single member of Ondo State APC was included in all the appointment made. Nobody from Ondo state, whether politician, Civil servant or technocrat was able to make the list either by luck or appointment error.
What offence has Ondo State APC committed? I hereby use this medium to appeal to the leaders of the party in Ondo State especially the executive governor of Ondo State, Arakunrin Rotimi Akeredolu to do something urgently by visiting the president in Abuja to address this political imbalance appointment. This lopsidedness must be corrected before all vacancies are filled.
I so advised.
Olumide Akinrinlola writes from Akure, Ondo State. Ogbeni stop being delusional by thinking Buhari cares a hoot about you or your state...he doesn't even know you exist. ...better take your cry to Tinubu who sold you into servitude. Eni awi fun, oba je o gbo. |

Whether the money belongs to an opposition member, member of the ruling party or the NIA is trying to cover up for someone is secondary to the recovery of the money.
Who will found his missing item and won't be excited and eager to take it back? Or would rather be engrossed in who stole it or where was it found.

Omoluabi16: The average nigerian electorate is not an objective person. The next election, like the last one will be interpreted as Christian vs muslim, north vs south. when you have such mindset concerning a national election then there is a problem. I'm a redeemed member, some people voted for Apc because of osinbajo, our folks up north because buhari is a muslim. south..most because Jonathan was their bro, some igbos just because they hated buhari. Core issues like transparency, security and antecedents of these contestants were not even considered. How nigeria wan take better with this mindset? Incisive! 1 Like |

Jokes Etc / Re: My Success Story: Giving Back To Nairaland by Mintek: 11:39pm On Mar 31, 2017 |
DDeliverer: I don't really know where to post this, but since it all started here, I think i should post it here in this section. It all started after the "9ja has finished me" https://www.nairaland.com/3210525/nigeria-finished-me thread, 8-9months ago. 8-9months ago, I had nothing but a phone, a fine face and a degree in Biochemistry. No concrete plan, no job, no nothing.
Due to my jobless state I started spending plenty more time in the internet especially on Nairaland. It was on one of those 'lightless' nights that I created that thread. On that thread some guy asked me to reply his PM. On the average I get like 3-4 pms everyday, requests I generally ignore. But in that fateful day, I don't know what happened. I just replied him. It was the reply that changed my life. I replied sucess without realizing it (ALL OF YOU THAT IGNORE PMS, I SORRY FOR UNA).
After I replied, the man sent me a message about how the thread really touched him, how he laughed and cried at the same time while perusing the thread. I thanked him and went to bed. The next morning I woke up to another message. He wanted to discuss something and he needed my phone number. I gave it to him.
He called that morning and introduced himeslf as (name withheld) and that he would like us to have lunch, if it was okay by me. (OKAY BY ME? which kind question be that?) He told me to wait at a particular bus stop that his driver would pick me.
To cut the long story, He was opening a new company and he needed a young person to play a supervisory role. He wanted me to be his new director. I swear, tears dropped from my eyes. He asked if I was interested , I couldn't even talk, I could only nod ( because tears gather for my eyes). He brought out his cheque book, asked for my official name, scribbled something's, tore out the leaf and gave it to me. He asked if the money could cover for my wardrobe, transport and 3months salary, I almost broke my neck nodding. The money was more than enough.
Look at me, broke and hungry the previous night, few hours later, I was rich and I had a job that would make me more money. My case is truly different.
I feel it is only apopriate to pay my tithe to nairaland because I am who I am today because of nairaland. So I'd be giving 20 nairalanders 5k each this night.
God bless seun God bless lalasticla.la God bless nairaland
I love you all. Thanks.
