One thing is having a past experience and another is letting it define you. You can learn from it, hut don't let it define you. There are certain things you see that will tell you if you are wasting time on a woman or not. Yes thr Genie app is a dating app.

I don't seem to find the app on playstore. Do know where I can find it or what the icon looks like pls?

So many of our sisters here too Dey find husband so e no suppose hard, should I say you should be more open minded? You are in uk and you are narrowing your search to only Nigerians and to even particular regions, yes it’s your choice but if you are in need urgently then you may need to expand your scope, be more friendly and be in or go to places where you can mix up with more diverse people. I pray you find your desire soon but please don’t put yourself under too much pressure, it’s well

Well, another angle.... Thank you!

Hey buddy, I think to a great extent, you charisma and type personality will either improve or impede on your chances of getting a woman.

Now you will have to start socialising, you need to go out and meet people. Look for events near you, take up a skill and learn, stop picking extra shifts and start going out more. Also, if you don't make the move and ask any girl you fancy out, you will continue to be single. You have look around your work place and see that girl that always gives you a listening ear. That's the one. Also it depends on the type girl you want, white or black. If you want black, just go to Redeem church, or download this app Genie.

Thanks for the peep talk. I do appreciate. I have done my best to be honest with you, maybe I'm just not lucky. The past experiences I have had equally contributed in numbing me whenever it comes to that aspect. It's part of the reasons I reached out here. I'm just thinking maybe a recommendation might work than wasting more years trying to know someone who may not be be on the same page with you.

Is the Genie app, a dating app?

Hello everyone!

Thanks for all the contributions to this page which I have benefitted from a lot.

My own problem here is that I need a wife!

Yeah I'm not ashamed to ask. I have tried and maybe I haven't been lucky

I will be 39 by October. I'm 6'1, from Imo state and work with the NHS.

I don't know what handsome means to you. I might be your definition of handsome but if I'm not, trust me, I'm not bad looking.

I will prefer someone already in England. Not ruling out someone in Nigeria if it's by recommendation.

I'm looking for a good soul who knows what she wants in life and reciprocates efforts. I love a good looking lady, who smells nice, good communicator, kind and empathetic between 26-34 years of age. I will do all these as well.

I prefer from the south east, south south, some parts of the North(as long as you are a Christian).

I am Catholic (Christian) and I try as much as possible to be the best person I can. We can start from friendship/relationship and work towards settling soon.

Pls if you are or can recommend someone, pls help a brother out. Almost all the Nigerian ladies around me here are all married grin

I can be reached via this email: glucocareng@gmail.com

Thanks so much for your help. I will do that.

Hi everyone!

I recently got a Hisense smart tv hoping to watch the world cup with it.

There are lots of apps on the VIDAA store to watch movies and other live tv but none is showing live matches. There's even no app with a subscription option to watch live sports.

I have read about IPTV here. Please who can put me through on how to go about it please

Also, he doesn't have a physical shop, he is a medical Doctor, so what I sent to him is what he uses to treat his patients.

Good evening Lawyers and Law enforcement officers in the house!

Please is there anyway I can recover my money?

I sent some goods to someone that patronises me. He regularly buys from me and pays after delivery.

Lately, I sent him some goods and it's been more than 3 months now, and he doesn't pick his call anymore.

He comes online on Whatsapp and doesn't respond to my messages.

It was an informal trade. No invoice exchanged, just calls and what app conversation of what he needed which I sent to him..

Please help me out. I feel bitter and betrayed!

I just checked again at the London center and available dates are from 31 October or is it my network that is causing this?

How did you see the September abeg?

I called them to enquire about Saturdays but they said it's for certain types of visa of which my visa category is not among

Yes. Airfrance requires transit visa. If you call their call lines, they will tell you a different thing. You can book Nigeria to London and take a coach to wherever. I hope this helps.

Thanks so much. I already booked the Airfrance round trip ticket to Nigeria before I realized I'd need the transit visa.

The worst aspect is that I contacted the embassy and tried getting a transit visa from them but the available appointment dates are from October 20th but my journey is in first week of October.

If I cancel the flight, I will get tax refunds and not the full fare.

I'm trying to see if I can get a Schengen visa from one of the easiest countries to get one but my fear is that the visa may still not be ready till first week of October.

Na real one chance I enter so embarassed

Hello Everyone!

I recently booked an Airfrance round trip ticket from Heathrow to Nigeria.

I am from Nigeria and I work here in the UK.

The trip is not a direct trip. Airfrance will stop over in France and then to Nigeria. My coming back will be from Nigeria - France - UK.

Do I necessarily need a Schengen airport transit visa for this trip?

I have asked this question to Airfrance but they weren't helpful.

Has anyone travelled to Nigeria from UK via Airfrance recently and did they ask for a transit Schengen visa?

He probably misread your question.
Life insurance is good. The trust, I believe, helps you to avoid inheritance and also with the disbursement of the claims upon your death. Using a trust is a wise decision. I use AIG but may change my policy. What I have at the moment will end when I am 65 but I want one that will last a life time. I pay slightly less than £20 per month.

Thanks man. This is exactly what I'm looking for.

Please outside the monthly payments, ("slightly less than £20"wink is there any other amount AiG required you to pay?

This will be my last question to you I promise!

Hello everyone!

Please I have interest in doing a life insurance policy for personal reasons.

I read somewhere yesterday where someone said one can do life insurance, hand the insurance over to a trust to invest like in real estate or something like that and that can create generational income.

Has anyone life insurance policy here in the UK?

If yes, what companies did you use? (I have interest in Aviva but I don't know if there are better options.

Finally, is the idea of handing the life insurance over to a trust a wise one?

Cheers to you all.

I will always advise people to pay into their workplace pension especially if it’s a defined benefit scheme like the Nhs pension as those are the best around. It’s based on your career average and for each year you work for NHS, you accrue 1/54th of your average salary. Even if you are above 30 and you end up working for the NHS for 35 years, you will accrue 35/54th of your salary by the time you retire adjusted yearly for inflation. So for example if your average salary at retirement is £40,000, you will have accrued an annual pension of nearly £26,000 by the time you retire and it’s guaranteed till you pass away. It’s not like the private sector pensions where your pension income is determined by the performance of the plan.
The side effect to opting out is that you will lose your NHS employer pension contribution. Also there are other benefits attached to the NHS pension like death in service grant etc which are quite substantial.

Wow... Thanks so much for taking your time to explain it how I wanted it.

God bless you Really good!!!

You talked about opting out, I said opt in ....... NHS pensions, is one of the best pension policies, that ever liveth........... grin

SIPP - Self invested pension plan........ You are your own fund manager, investing in the stock, trading your pension funds.........

The beauty of a SIPP plan, HMRC pays you 20% of each deposit made ( SIPP plan is about £9.99 pcm)......

Wow, thanks again for the clarification.

I really don't know how to go about with the SIPP, I'm kinda new to the system.

Would you be kind to explain how to go about the SIPP further please?

Opt into NHS pensions + invest in a SIPP portfolio ......

Sorry I don't understand your statement. Could you clarify further please.

I work under the NHS and pensions has already been deducted for the past 3 months I worked.

Is the pension being deducted different from NHS pensions or you meant opt out of NHS pensions?

Also how do I go about the SPP portfolio?

Hello house, good morning.

Thanks all for the useful information here. While going through the page, I used someone's link to apply for Amex credit card and got approved for £4k and I'm just 3months in the UK.

I have a question though concerning pension. I came in via tier 2 sponsored visa and work with the NHS.
From the information I gathered here, it seems pension won't really be beneficial to me since I'm above 30 (and one needs to put in like 35 years to able to get full pension benefits)

Based on the info above, can I opt out of pension and invest the money myself? Also, if I opt out, are there "side effects" to opting out?

Hi, Ralph,

Could you share the "common strategies' to easily get an USA visa please.

I'm on sponsored work Visa in the UK and would like to visit my sis later on in the USA.

I have once been denied US visa when I applied from Nigeria and would want to do everything right now I'm in the UK when I'm ready to apply for it

Ralphlauren:

As lexusgs430 has suggested, travel to the US and do all your shopping. Its cheaper than you think. If you travel off peak, you can get return BA flights from London to New York for around £350-£400.

Prior to the pandemic, I would travel to the US at least twice a year for vacation and stock up on casual/office wear. Talk about using one bird to kill two stones. grin My username says it all. You get the best RL outfits for the best prices in the US. grin

If you do not hold a foreign passport, getting a US visa is very easy. You just need to understand the "common" strategy that applies for UK resident applicants.

Will this plan not violate the terms of your visa? To the best of my knowledge you can only do a second job if that job is in the same occupation code as the one you are sponsored to do in the UK or the job is in ashortage occupation.

Thanks for pointing this out.

However, my nature of job won't even allow me take another side job.

I'm interested in certificate courses relevant to my field which I can use for remote jobs.

With remote jobs, you can be at the comfort of your home working at your pace (depends on the arrangement) for someone in Australia and I don't think you need to upgrade your Visa to be able to do that.

Do you know any certificate course anyways?

Hello house!

I was following the old thread to see if the question I have in mind to ask is already treated but the thread got derailed at some point.

I will be relocating to Salisbury from Nigeria by next week on healthcare sponsored visa.

I have learnt quite a lot from this thread and I'm interested in paying for/and learning certificate courses that can help me get side hustle jobs like work from home jobs without affecting the healthcare care that'd bring me to UK.

The problem is, I don't know the particular certificate to go for and that is lucrative in UK too?

Is it Scrum, Data scientist, etc?

I'm a biomedical scientist with shifts, so I won't want any side hustle that will be too stressful. Any recommendations please?

SCAM FUNDS - CAVEAT EMPTOR

The quoted account sold PayPal funds that were flagged as fraudulent and led to the suspension of access to the account, with the dispute leading to a fund reversal.

When the dispute was opened this seller was informed.

After 2 months of the dispute being closed, less than half of the funds have been recovered , and no refund schedule has been adhered to.

Regardless of refund status, the FRAUDULENT source of sold funds IS WITHOUT A DOUBT.

You are strongly advised NOT TO TRADE with this fellow.

I am having similar issue with this guy called @Maskyy!

He gave a freelancer my PayPal account details so that his client could pay in money.

Prior to this issue, when we started doing fund business, I gave him my do's and don't which, every one here, that I have bought funds from, know I'm very strict with accepting just any funds.

I warned him severally not to use my account to receive funds directly from freelancers clients because, some of them use people's account to collect initial deposit from clients and don't do the jobs resulting in disputes and charge-back, but this was exactly what he did.

The disputes and the resulting charge back happened since October, but as I'm writing this now, I have not recovered even one Naira from the charge-back.

The annoying thing is that since October this happened, he has been doing his business, buying and selling PayPal, restricted me from seeing his status (but I still see it anyway) and each time time I ask about my money, he tells me the person he bought the funds from doesn't want to pay...(meaning if he doesn't pay I won't get my money? But he profited from the money too)

Well, I already had enough patience, and told him, he won't get away with it. I equally like the fact he thinks, that it's a mere threat and that I'm not serious!
