Access to the Internet is an inalienable right of every citizen in the 21st Century. This is tantamount to a denial of freedom of expression.

In this era when hundreds of essential industries need internet ranging from healthcare to banking sectors, it is high treason to even imagine such a thing.

Fayemi is already laying foundation for more debt in Ekiti. He said he paid N21.7m for JAMB forms for 3000 students. Ok, let's do the maths

Jamb Form- #3500
Registration charge- #700
Recommended book- #800
Miscellaneous. - #300
Total- #5300

#5300*3000 youths= #15,900,00.

21,700,000-15,900,000= 5,800,000.

Fayemi is a scam. No wonder Fayose will always beat him.

Education / Bisi Akande Blasts ASUU; Says They Produce Vagabond Graduates by minwafor: 9:02am On Dec 08, 2018
Erstwhile governor of Osun State, Chief Bisi Akande, has condemned the ongoing strike embarked upon by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU).

According to him, the incessant industrial action by the members of the union had been largely responsible for poor quality graduates, whom, he lamented, are vagabonds and unemployable.

Akande added that the lecturers who embark on industrial action were the cause of the unemployment situation in the country “because they produce unemployable graduates.”

The former interim National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) stated this at the weekend at Oke-Ila Orangun, Osun State, when he commissioned a one storey five- classroom block donated to Abolarin College, Oke-Ila Orangun, for the less privileged children.

Akande lamented that the lecturers’ demands that eventuated in the strike was not genuine, noting: “They are destroying us.”

He lamented that the strike was a shame on the part of the ASUU and Nigeria too.

He noted that it was only in Nigeria that workers would go on strike and come back to earn salary.

“ASUU strike cannot happen in a civilised community. It’s only in a decadent country like Nigeria that people go on strike and come back to earn the salary. It’s shameful of ASUU and it’s shameful of Nigeria,” Akande said.

On whether he would call on the Federal Government to meet the lecturers’ demand with a view to calling off the strike, Akande said:

“I’m not calling on anybody to do anything if they are not ashamed that they are producing vagabonds for us.

I’m not a member of the Federal Government.”

“People go to the university and come back with half baked education. They are teachers of vagabonds and that is the truth. That is why Nigeria is becoming worse.”

While also commenting on the unemployment situation in the country, he said: “They caused the unemployment. Going on strike six months out of one year, makes them produce unemployable graduates. They are destroying us.”

“Their demands are never genuine. It’s because government employed them. That is why they are doing that. Why can’t they come together and found a university?”

Akande, however, commended the monarch of Oke-Ila Orangun, Oba Adedeokun Abolarin, the founder of the Abolarin College, for establishing the school for the children of the less privileged.

“The kabiyesi is building a legacy of greatness. He working for a noble cause. I pray that ASUU will not destroy the ambition of Kabiyesi in the future,” Akande said.

Abolarin College was founded in 2013 by the monarch where students from different ethnic backgrounds in Yoruba lands are being offered free education.

The monarch told Saturday Sun that his decision to found the school was to give equal opportunities to the indigent children for education with a view to raising future leaders for the country.

“It’s a divine calling and a mandate for me to do it. I owe this generation the mandate to do this. We want to democratise education. That is why we bring children from different tribes of this country to benefit from it.”

Romance / Re: October Rush - Female Fresher Beware by minwafor: 9:44pm On Oct 06, 2018
Again can be seen in increase rate of unwanted pregnancy and abortion among undergraduate students. This menace often times makes it impossible to these girls to focus on their studies. In some cases they may not be able to finish what they have barely started.

The stress of combining the emotional trauma, pregnancy and studies may be too much for some leading to the increased rate of abortion among students in the higher institution.

Some girls once they have started this may find it very difficult to withdraw from the act not knowing the impending danger they bring to themselves.

Research shows that there is a correlation between abortion and breast cancer and these girls who engage in such tend to bring this impending doom on themselves. Also, the side effect of abortion includes damage to the uterus especially the endometrium which happens to be the innermost layer of the uterus, blockage of the fallopian tube as a result of some dangerous chemicals ladies take in a bid to terminate a pregnancy. Indescribable emotional trauma that accompanies abortion follows both parties; that is, the guy and the lady for the rest of their life.

In addition to the already listed consequences is the possibility of contracting STIs and HIV and AIDS. Research has it that there is an increase of HIV and AIDs and other sexually transmitted infections on a daily bases in Nigerian institutions. The statistics have it that a sizeable population of Nigerian tertiary institutions students are HIV positive.

Finally, I would like to advise prospective students especially the females to avoid been a victim of October rush bait but to stand your ground.

a)Become a lady of virtue and principle and be mindful of the people you let into your life in the name of been helped as a new student.

b)Also get yourselves
acquainted with a good fellowship on campus, because this is where you meet people who really care for you and love you without any string been attached to it.

c)Beware of the people you call your friend some of them may be wolves in sheep’s clothing who will turn you into something you never expected to become or even make you get involved in a fraudulent act.

d)Set boundaries to your interactions with a male student. Never visit them in their hostels or lodge. Always chose an open place to interact.

In all be safe and always remember that the campus world is filled with a diverse set of the people. The question is, who is rushing you? Is it the Good, The bad or Ugly? Find out today.

Romance / October Rush - Female Fresher Beware by minwafor: 9:40pm On Oct 06, 2018
The cliché ‘October rush' has been a popular phrase in Nigerian Institutions for quite a long time and its still in vogue today. October which happens to be the tenth month of the year, is a time when new students usually referred to freshmen are been admitted into universities worldwide, Nigeria included. The month is the last quarter of the year and is always busy with activities because it marks the beginning of the new session with freshmen trying to get themselves acquitted with two new environment they find themselves.

October Rush is used mostly in various Colleges, Polytechnic and Universities to describe the sudden brief exhilaration mostly seen among the male folks towards the newly admitted females. It’s a time when guys usually used as an opportunity to change their girlfriends to a 'novice' which are the newly admitted females.

They achieve this purpose by trying to help them out with the admission process and also helping them to get adjusted to the new environment they find themselves. They can ever go a step further by helping them secure accommodation, course materials and relevant contacts at school. In some funny cases, you may see Engineering students taking Fine Arts students on tutorials. Interesting!!! Most girls in time past have fallen prey to this scheme, and some times even into the hands of the bad guys.

This surge comes with many negative consequences to both parties involved. Firstly, this can lead to premarital sex or even rape. The ladies who eventually gain an admission into higher institution may not have had the opportunity to engage in premarital sex before now, she may fall victim as a result of ‘October rush' . God is against fornication, it’s the only sin in the bible that God clearly made us to understand that its against the body. Our body is the temple of God and whosoever destroys his/ her body with the sin of fornication God will surely destroy the person. Sex is more than just few minutes pleasure is something very deep no wonder God created to be only in the confines of marriage. It enables the couple to get back to the beginning, opening them for a deeper or intimate relationship with each other. Its obvious that today this very purpose has been tossed to the ground and undergraduate students are seriously going against God. What seems to be very bad has become a normal way of life these days.

Nigerians are very gullible. For over 2 months, Ghanian immigration officers, police and even area boys have been harassing Nigerian businessmen plying their trade in Ghana. The Nigerian government did absolutely nothing.

Right now a lot of shops belonging to Nigerian traders have been under lock and key. Area boys there are beating up our citizens in Kumasi and our government is doing nothing. Now they want to use the story of 'so-called' prostitutes to cover up. Nigerians wake up. Enough of all these Xenophobic attacks on Nigeria. #NotoXenophobia

What is the weirdest thing you have ever done to reconnect with someone?
Education / Who Knows Nicole?Man Emails 247 Women Called Nicole To Find Girl He Met by minwafor: 10:58pm On Sep 11, 2018
Love really happens. A man from Canadian university emails over 247 ladies to find a girl. Here is the story.

A missed connection on a Canadian university campus led to an unusual bonding experience for hundreds of women named "Nicole".

When he failed to reach an exchange student he had met at the pub, University of Calgary student Carlos Zetina did not give up.

He emailed 247 women with the first name "Nicole" who had a university email address, hoping she would see it.

She did not, but the women banded together to help him find her.

The love (or at least like) story began when Mr Zetina chatted up an exchange student from the Netherlands named Nicole at the campus bar.

She gave him her number, but it appeared to be the wrong one.

Not wanting to be "a bad guy who didn't text back" he decided to email every Nicole he could find in the campus directory.

"Hi, this is a mass e mail to all Nicole's if you don't fit this description then ignore and if you are the one and just don't want to talk to me that's okay as well," he wrote to 247 women, who ranged from undergraduate students to tenured professors. "If you name is Nicole and you're from Holland and you think Nietzsche is depressing then text me."

As he did not use the BCC line, all of the women on the list could see each others' email addresses, and they began to message each other.

"There was just Nicoles saying they'd never been so happy to be called Nicole or Nicolette in their lives. Others were wishing Carlos 'good luck buddy,' and just talking about how it was an epic way to start your school year," PhD candidate Nicolette Little told the StarMetro newspaper.

A Facebook group dubbed "Nicole from last night" was created, with about 80 members, and the women arranged to meet in person at a downtown bar.

"It turned from it being odd to it being really funny," Nicole Macmillan told the BBC. "Someone responded and said 'I say we should start a Nicole party instead'."

The Nicole Mr Zetina was searching for did not have a university email address, which meant she did not receive the email. But she caught wind of the Facebook group and reached out to the other women.

Having only had a Canadian mobile number for a week, Nicole from Holland said she accidentally gave him the wrong number, and was happy to reconnect.

The women who Mr Zetina emailed were more than happy to oblige.

"Carlos is so sweet, he is so kind," Ms Macmillan said. "He's a really genuine person and he just wanted to let this girl know he wasn't standing her up."

The two are planning to meet up next week - without 247 other women tagging along.

Gaining admission into any public tertiary institution on merit is a remarkable feat for any student. It is usually a time of celebration and at times anxiety for some less financially buoyant parents or guardians. No matter what the case may be, these are 7 things you should do;

1.Wait For More Options To Arrive: If you applied and wrote Post UTME for more than one institutions, you can want for more favorable outcomes. If you have a higher chance of securing admission into a better institution or less expensive institution then you can wait. However, note that most admissions are time-bound so you stand a risk of losing the admission if you delay unnecessarily in accepting the admission.

2.Accept or Reject The Admission on JAMB CAPS: This is known as Joint Admission and Matriculation Board Central Admission Processing System. This system is geared towards ensuring that it is only students who meet the tertiary institution's cut-off point are given admission. You can go to JAMB website and follow the instructions on how to accept or reject the admission.

3.Print your Admission Letter.

4.Pay the Acceptance Fee: Many schools usually give newly admitted students little time( say 2-3 weeks) to pay up their exorbitant acceptance fee. Every newly admitted student should know the how much the acceptance fee is and should endeavor to meet deadline for the payment.

5.Do all the Necessary Clearance: Whether online, physical or even health screening, every newly admitted student is expected to bring along some documents showing date of birth, state of origin, results etc. This is the most strenuous part of the admission process and it may take days or even weeks in some cases. Presenting incomplete results at this point can disqualify the student.

6.Pay Your School Fee: After the clearance, you can then proceed to pay the school fee. Some institutions can accept instalmental payment while others don't. Please find out from your school.

7.Secure your accommodation and other personal items: Depending on the school policy, you may decide to live in the campus or off- campus. Some school may allow their students to choose, others don't. However, I would recommend that every first-year student should live on the campus no matter how dreadful some hostels would be. That way, you can learn much faster about the institution, culture and the people. You can start lectures then and await further instructions on your matriculation.

Politics / Re: Ayefele: Ajimobi Said He Would Have Prevented The Demolition If We Had Begged by minwafor: 12:04pm On Aug 25, 2018
The insincerity of politicians at play once again. Ajimobi choreographed the whole thing and even invited traditional leaders(to beg Ayefele?) to resolve the impasse. The damage has been done already and it shows the governor has dictatorial tendency. Ayefele should wait for the outcome or pursue the matter in court(he has a good chance of winning). This government is just anti-people.

You are just here supporting PDP and saying they are the same, we all know PDP is worse off... Master riggers since 1999. I don't want to go into the history of how Segun Oni under PDP and how Fayose became Governor. Before you open your mouth and spew trash, do your research

'Open your mouth and spew trash' statement is really insulting. Why can't some folks make comments without resorting to insults on this platform? Na wah oh.

The road is not funny at all. People spend over 3hours on one spot. Others may have to trek long distance to get to their destination. Lagos state and Federal Government should help us. People are suffering everyday.

They ended their long epistle with an open threat of attacking non-Muslims as well as places where such has happened. The government should place the security apparatus on red-alert. This is not an empty threat.
