MAJOLAUTOS: Are you aware of blackberry OpenSSL FREAK vulnerability that downgrades your SSL encryption cipher-suites to a weak one that can be exploited?
Sorry if I came off a bit too technical there. It just goes to show that Blackberry is not as secure as you think. The above mentioned is just one of the potential vulnerabilities that can impact your BBM security mechanisms. Yh but Bb stays on top of it, considering security is what they are known for. There's a fix for it, plus if you are connected to an enterprise server, you SHOULD have added layers of firewall. (not too technically versed) |

MAJOLAUTOS: While the comments here are valid, it is disappointing that none has pointed towards "security". Do you know that the more applications and services installed on your "state-of-the-art" phone, the more security vulnerabilities the phone would have? For an elite like Otedola, security of his private data would be one of his major concerns, subsequently the phone- the only thing that can be performed on it is "voice" not data. And the phone, if I remember, has an in-built encryption. If he was worried about security, a blackberry is the safest bet. Os7 oh, not sure how secure 10 is |

toxic waste from the oil industry is been dumped callously, ordinary gas flaring we cannot stop, where will the nuclear waste be disposed?
Will a correct/truthful EIA be conducted?
Is living in darkness not better than what happened in chernobyl?
is nuclear power to only other alternative to generating power? These were my exact concerns. We need to educate on the risks and rewards, before even thinking about breaking ground. |

vimi: What do uu suggest, that we fold our hands and watch the citizens of this country be starved of electricity? Kanji and iits likes we're also built from scratch uu know.. with a non corrupt gov ii believe achieving the subject iis simplified.
Sadly the quote below might just be our fate in Nigeria... "Twenty years from now, you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do, so throw off the bowlines, sail away from safe harbor, catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore, Dream, Discover." Mark Twain, author I like your gusto. It's achievable with the right govt. Once the govt proves it's credibility. Anything is possible |

[quote author=vimi post=34307057]ii never said we must start with a mega station... ii reiterate the word "pilot", starting with a state or two.
I get what you mean, a pilot is the best way to start but do we have anything close to the prerequisites we need? It would have to be a newly built independent grid to connect to. Given the existing's deficiency. That's a lot of investment just for a pilot. Very hard to convince investors |

opeaceo: There are other forms of energy that would solve part of our energy issues.
We haven't exploited hydroelectricity, when we do, 45% of our energy issues would be solved. It really boils down to infrastructure, we can't harness anything fully till we lay the foundation |
Science/Technology › Re: Nuclear Power As An Alternative Source Of Energy by miquelon(m): 2:01pm On May 31, 2015 |
Nuclear power is not something that should be taken lightly. Nigeria does not have the Infrastructure in place (radioactive waste disposal, storage, fail-safes) or the technical knowledge. It's possible if there is an actual effort towards nuclear energy, experts training, getting Cos like EDF who have nuclear plants to take the lead.
On another note nuclear power is very costly environmentally and economically. Especially when most are moving towards clean renewable energy. Do the pros outweigh the cons |

My opinion iis for naija to embrace nuclear power as means of power generation for the sake of iits over 180million wards. That's what other successfully lighted nations use.
