Marrying a nigerian airforce personnel is equal to accepting early widowhood, i don't know why ladies still marry them. They give them wrecked helicopters, every few months there must be a crash and they all die. My friends father is a helicopter crash survivor, same nigerian airforce. May she be comforted.

Traditional medicine doesn't work, that was how my cousin died. She refused to cut the breast that had the cancer as the doctor advised.They were busy recommending based on hear say, she left the hospital and went to the herbal clinic. When she deteriorated, the herbal doctor called my dad to tell her family to take her back to the hospital for chemotherapy. She died there.

You are right on funding. Nigeria isn't even training some of them because a lot of the athletes were born abroad and are student athletes in their universities so it is the universities that are really coaching them.
Udodi is a Stanford university athlete while Eziekel Nathaniel is a Baylor athlete. Most of them need a national team that is why they are representing Nigeria.

Weight lifitng is not small sport. Even me, when I reach gym, try carry 10 kg weight. .

Like now, NIgeria no dey do well in cycling. That is largely because not too many people are interested, even if government increased spending. Same thing for gymastics, swimming, and netball. We do well in powerlifting because interest dey. SO also athletics, and at one time boxing.

Nigeria just won bronze in 400 x 100 men's relay race.

Two more medals were won this morning. Ogazi won gold and Ella Onojuwovo won bronze today.

Nigeria won gold yesterday in men's 400 meter hurdle and silver in men's 200 meter race. It was so beautiful.
The problem the have is this new national anthem, the athletes can't sing it. Even me I don't know the new national anthem, Tinubu well done.

I watched it live and it's so sad to see that the government doesn't take care of these physically challenged athletes. Their complex used to be near my grandparents house in surulere, I grew up seeing athletes permanently live there. The government asked them to leave, the ministry of sports sign board removed. Now the place is empty with aboki selling noodles in front of the gate.

Nigerian government should take care of their athletes especially the physically challenged ones. They will win medals finish for the country and still be living from hand to mouth.

It's always hard to say "No" to them, but if you can muster the courage to listen to their sob stories and still not drop shishi, you have finally become liberated.

Thank you for this, you have just given me the courage to block my aunty's number that is always calling to ask for money. Indeed their life troubles is not mine. I will unblock her in October, by then other people would have helped her with money to solve her problem. The request just never ends.
