TV/Movies / RHOAbuja: Meet Comfort Booth, The Lawyer Who Will Take You Down In Court by MissOH: 5:14pm On Jan 31, 2023
We all love a woman who can hold it down professionally while expressing herself in whatever way she deems fit. This is the case with Comfort Booth, a cast member of the recently announced Showmax Original, The Real Housewives of Abuja. Comfort is a lawyer who can hold her fort in the courtroom while also rocking her unconventional mohawk haircut.

Asides being a lawyer, Comfort is also a social commentator, travel blogger and talk show host. There are obviously several sides to this Housewife. In her words, “Irrespective of the fact that what you see is what you get, I am a contradiction. I can be sweet, sour, a boss lady and also take you down in the courtroom, and I’ll go there with my colourful mohawk.”

TV/Movies / Ooni Of Ife Hosts Private Screening For Showmax Nigeria Telenovela, Wura by MissOH: 12:45pm On Jan 24, 2023
The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, played host to some of the cast and crew of Showmax first Nigerian Original telenovela, Wura, in his palace on Thursday, January 19 2023. The screening was one of the elements of the show’s launch.

The Ooni, his wives, Olori Tobi Philips Ogunwusi, Olori Aderonke Ademiluyi Ogunwusi, Olori Afolashade Ogunwusi and Wura stars Scarlet Gomez, Yomi Fash-Lanso and Ego Iheanacho, along with other members of the cast and crew, attended the screening.

Set against the backdrop of the gold mining industry in Osun State, Nigeria, Wura tells the story of Wura-Amoo Adeleke, a perfect wife, a loving mother of two, and the ruthless Chief Executive Officer of the fictional Frontline Gold Mine. In the eyes of her family, Wura is faultless and a saint, but when it comes to running her business empire, she is the ultimate “iron lady” who doesn’t care whose ox is gored as she works towards getting what she wants.

The Ooni was pleased with the episodes and commended Showmax and the producers at the screening, saying: “The show was very well put together and professionally done”.

“I'm very impressed and I rarely get impressed with things. I love the naturalistic effect of the series. It premiered to me at the palace and I could barely find any faults. I have to give the entire crew some major credit. The story is very well scripted and that's the typical determination you find in any Nigerian. It's a show that will impact society not only in Ife. I look forward to watching the rest of it because it's very obvious that it's a series that will address a lot of societal ills and will engage the citizenry as a whole.”

Continuing, he said, "I'm very passionate about anything that has to do with the youth. Currently in Ife, we're building a theatre for us to be able to host premieres and Wura is the maiden series we'll be using to implement this. We will use the platform to raise funding for NGOs and less privileged students who want to go into the movie industry. I'd like to, once again, give a shout-out to the producers of Wura. I'm convinced that it will be a hit.”

Wura is Showmax’s first Nigerian telenovela, and consists of 260 episodes. It features an all-star Nollywood cast, including rising star Scarlet Gomez in the titular role, Yomi Fash-Lanso, Carol King, Ray Adeka, Iremide Adeoye, Ego Iheanacho, Martha Ehinome and Lanre Adediwura.

Wura is now streaming exclusively on www.showmax.com with new episodes available Mondays to Thursday weekly.

Flawsome revolves around the lives of four friends, portrayed by Bisola Aiyeola, Ini Dima-Okojie,Sharon Ooja and Enado Odigie, as they navigate their personal and professional lives while bound by the flawed yet unbreakable ties they share.

Winner of the 2018 AMVCA Trailblazer Award, Bisola Aiyeola takes on the role of Ifeyinwa, a hard-working heiress who has spent all her life preparing to become the CEO of her father’s company after his demise only to find out she isn’t her father’s choice candidate.

Ini Dima-Okojie is Ramat, who has a seemingly perfect marriage, middle-class life, and a great career, but her reality isn’t as rosy as it seems.

Sharon Ooja plays Ivie, a wide-eyed young woman who abandoned medicine and surgery for a career in fashion design with hopes of living the big city girl life.

Enado Odigie plays Dolapo, a career-driven woman who continues to beat the odds as she moves steadily up the corporate ladder with the biggest clients in her portfolio.

Compelling, flawed, and heartbreakingly human, these young women work hard, scheme, fall in and out of love and nurture dreams both big and small. As their individual circumstances shifts, one thing remains constant – their loyalty to one another and their devotion to the hustle.

“Flawsome’s lineup of stellar cast and its intricate but relatable storyline makes it a really solid series, one that I’m confident that the viewers will thoroughly enjoy,” Tejumola added.

Film producer, Tola Odunsi, who is popular for the hugely acclaimed web series The Men’s Club, takes the reins on Flawsome, and will be bringing the ingenuity that he has come to be known for into play in the Showmax Original.

“With Flawsome, it was important to create not just a glossy show but one with real depth that the audience would find very relatable,” said Odunsi.

Shot in the metropolitan city of Lagos, Flawsome comes hot on the heels of Diiche, Showmax’s first Nigerian Original limited series and joins the growing line-up of local content on the streaming platform.

TV/Movies / Diiche: Chinyere Wilfred Spills The Tea On Becoming Kessandu Anyanwu by MissOH: 11:02am On Oct 26, 2022
Diiche, the first Showmax Nigeria Original limited series, is a first-rate thriller featuring car chases, bare-knuckle fights, endless plot twists and much more.

Among the wide range of cast is Nollywood veteran, Chinyere Wilfred, who has featured in over 200 movies.

TV/Movies / Diiche: Gloria Anozie-young Reveals She Cried Alot by MissOH: 11:50am On Oct 24, 2022
For someone who debuted in Nollywood as a “senior girl” in the classic Glamour Girls from 1994, painting the big screen with words and actions is not a devil of a job for 55-year-old actress Gloria Anozie-Young.

Still, when you’re asked to play the role of a distraught mother whose only son, the breadwinner of the family has just been murdered, even if you’re Gloria, might be tough.

“I don’t think I got into character the very first day. It took me the whole time, from the beginning to the end, because it was a tough one. I don’t get to play that role a lot. I had to do a lot of crying,” says Gloria of her role as Adaure in Showmax’s new psychological thriller, Diiche.

Gloria embodies her role to the fullest, tapping into her real-life experiences and remembering “how I felt when I heard about my brother’s death.”

Diiche, the first Showmax Original limited series in Nigeria, follows the unsolved murder of the charming but cunning Nnamdi Nwokeji and an effortful attempt at vindication by his fiancée.

Directed by James Omokwe, Tolu Ajayi, Fiyin Gambo, and Ifeoma Chukwuogo, the show is currently in its third episode, growing in suspense and mystery.

TV/Movies / Bbnaija S7: Doyin, Sheggz Deserve A Spot In The Top 6 – Afrovii by MissOH: 12:26pm On Sep 30, 2022
Afrovii just loves talking about BBNaija. Come rain or shine, she’s on Twitter analysing the complexities of the housemates, hosting Twitter spaces, and sharing her opinion on the show. This season appears to be a farewell season, as she wants to make way for a new generation of R&grin as the show leans towards the Gen Z demographic.

What about BBNaija appeals to you the most?
I have a general love for Nigerian things. I think the first Nigerian reality TV show I watched was D’banj’s Koko Mansion. It was a way of staying connected to home. I moved to the UK when I was 11. I was grown enough to be really Nigerian but also young enough that I could fit in here while still craving home. So, I’ve just been searching for Nigerian content everywhere, and once I discovered Koko Mansion and fell in love with popular Nigerian culture, BBNaija was just the next step.

What was your first BBNaija season?
See Gobbe [Season 2, won by Michael Ejeba].

You are an OG, no wonder you want to retire.
Omo, I be their mama. An R&grin mama for real, in age and experience.

True! Which season has been your favourite?
I think it’s too early to say because I liked different things about each season. However, in terms of the sheer talent of housemates, like the ability to maybe just freestyle a session to jam, no season comes close to See Gobbe.

But if you ask most people, Lockdown [Season 5] will come in their top two seasons. Production picked a crew of housemates that were ready from the go. So much happened within that first week that we’d never seen before. It was crazy! Lockdown had so many highs. I think it was the first time we saw a housemate as sensual as Erica, someone as rich as Kidd and well-known as he was.

BBNaija Lockdown
Nengi and Ozo in the BBNaija Lockdown house.
We got the whole Nengi and Ozo dynamic. A housemate who looked like Nengi but was super competitive and bright in tasks. We got somebody like Ozo, that was clearly a sheltered young man, good-looking but had no way with the ladies. Then we got Laycon – Laycon-Erica’s dynamic, and their friendship. You got this run-of-the-mill middle-class, skinny kid with this beauty queen and people couldn’t see how they were friends. All those complications made the season very interesting for somebody like me who enjoys analysing the show.

Watch this interview with Laycon on his Showmax Original reality show, I Am LAYCON

What about this Level Up season?
I might be biased about this season because it’s my farewell season, but it has been absolutely amazing to me. Obviously, some things could have been done better. I think the two houses thing is a great idea, but they should have been integrated as a unit earlier, or housemates should have been swapped because a lot of the audience and the housemates didn’t really experience each other in the way that makes the show fun.

However, I think Level Up will challenge See Gobbe and Lockdown as my favourite season when it’s all said and done. But the reason I can’t commit to it challenging them is that I didn’t experience all the characters; I only experienced half of them.

Have you been a member of any fan base; apart from Bella’s, and why?
I am not a member of Bella’s fan base. They kicked me out o.

Ahn ahn! Why na?
They kicked me out because I didn’t like Segun from week one. They said I was trying to cause a rift. However, I’ve never been a part of any fan base because I’m too big a character. I don’t stan because I don’t think anybody’s always right.

Also, I’m aware that people come to my timeline to read and catch up on the show – and to gauge my opinion on whatever. I’m aware, whether I like it or not, that I’m more influential than I care for. I cannot stan as a result. From a fan’s perspective, I must be circumspect and balance my influence on the show, while balancing my personal biases. I’m not always successful because I’m human and I have biases. But I do try because I’m aware of these responsibilities. However, the person I’ve gone hardest for on the show is probably Esther from Pepper Dem.

Esther from the BBNaija Pepper Dem season on stage with Ebuka.
Seriously?
Yes, yes! She is the most like myself that has ever been on the show. When I say go hard, I mean campaigning and harassing my friends to vote for her.

TV/Movies / Bbnaija S7: Phyna Or Bryann Will Win The Show – Noble Igwe by MissOH: 5:37pm On Sep 29, 2022
Since its inception in 2006, Big Brother Naija has grown to become Africa’s biggest reality show attracting followers from across the continent and beyond. But the fans, really, are the soul of Big Brother Naija, and My BBNaija Story seeks to understand them and hear their thoughts about their beloved show.

PR and fashion consultant Noble Igwe is no stranger to the BBNaija scene.

Every season, he shares his unfiltered views about the housemates and their shenanigans, sometimes butting heads with other fans in the process. In 2020 during the Lockdown season, he very publicly declared his support for Ozo, unlocking a whole new level of fandom.

In this interview, which kicks off the My BBNaija Story series, he talks about his journey down the BBNaija rabbit hole, the most ridiculous thing he’s done for a housemate, and more.

When did you start watching BBNaija?
I watched the first ever Big Brother Naija in 2005 or 2006. I can’t remember the actual year, but I watched that. The one that had Katung as the winner, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, Gideon, Ify as housemates. That was the first time I watched Big Brother Nigeria.

What’s your favourite season?
I’ve enjoyed different seasons, but I have different things I take away from each one. I liked the season that had Anto, Frodd, and a couple of other people in it. I liked the Lockdown season, because I kind of feel like that was the period when all of us were at home and didn’t have any other thing to do, other than wait for the vaccine, and watch Big Brother. So, I think that was the season that a whole lot of Nigerians watched the show.

Who was your favourite housemate, and why?
Anto Lecky. I feel like she was one person who was on the show, and didn’t really sell herself but who I have come to meet outside of the show, and has shown that she is a very strong person, she is very brilliant. I have worked with her on different projects, and she has delivered on every single one of them.

Tell us about being part of a BBNaija fanbase.
During lockdown I supported Ozo, and that was the first time I went way down the rabbit role of Big Brother Naija. It was the first time I saw how people vote. I used to just vote from my house, but that was the first time I had to call people together, meet in some places, and try to get people to donate money so we could vote. It was my first and only time going down that rabbit hole. I don’t think I’m ever going to do it again.

Wow, that sounds interesting! Tell us more about what happens within the fan bases.
So for someone who is watching Big Brother from their home, you only see the housemates. You come on social media, see the fanbase that people belong to, but sometimes you don’t know how deep that goes.

I watched Lockdown to the extent that they released a clothing line for Ozo when he was in the house. I wore it, promoted it, asked people to go buy it, and then it got to the level where we needed to come together to ask people in the market if they had voted with their sim card. We would use their phones and vote for our person. I didn’t know it was that serious. I had to call my personal friends to donate towards paying for Ozo to stay in the house. I also put in my own money to buy a recharge card.

And let me tell you, the funny thing is that every member of what they tag as the VIP group on Big Brother Nigeria may have supported a different housemate in the season before. So what happens is, they choose new people, they come together, they now form a different group, and they also know that some people who used to be in the same group with them have now moved to a different housemate. So it’s like a cult of people who like Big Brother Nigeria, and who will do everything.

We see stories of housemates getting lavish gifts from fans, does this really happen?
Listen, some people have gotten houses, cars, fridges. Some ex-housemates have gotten things from people who may never get to meet them. It’s not a joke. I’ve seen people say “oh, maybe one man has gifted…”. Listen, I’ve seen it myself.

I was not in the BBNaija house and I got gifts. I’ve gotten perfumes, money, and I wasn’t even a housemate. So you can imagine people who were in the house. And these things were given to me by people who think I was supporting somebody they supported. I have gotten so many things in terms of gifts from people. Maybe like, older people who are in their husband’s house, maybe with their grandchildren, saying “I see that you support my person in the house, let me send you something for the weekend,” and it’s a real thing. I mean it’s hard to believe that, but it’s a real thing.

TV/Movies / Bbnaija Women Are Putting Nigerian Men To Shame - Toke Makinwa by MissOH: 11:04am On Sep 09, 2022
Another week, another round of hot takes from guests on The Buzz as the BBNaija Level Up season fires on.

Episode 11 of The Buzz saw the return of YouTuber Glory Elijah, as well as new entrants YouTuberPhilomina Moses and media personality Chukwudi aka Husband Material. The trio dished out hot takes on the Shella ship, Daniella and her strategy, Groovy and Phyna, and so much more.

Starting with the evicted housemates, Glory commented that Deji did not want to go home when Ebuka asked the fake housemate to identify himself, adding that he really delivered the goods as a fake housemate, unlike Modella who barely did anything. She also said she was sad to see Diana, the queen of diary sessions, leave the BBNaija house.

Moving on to Daniella locking lips with Dotun during the Saturday night party, Philomina pointed out that Daniella “uses alcohol as a defence to do whatever she wants to do.” Still, on the matter of Daniella, Glory added that Daniella is being strategic, and calculative, particularly as regards her relationship with Dotun.

“You won’t believe that after that kiss, she discovered that she didn’t go home so she has broken off with Dotun again, but even in the midst of the breakup, she’s still clinging to the guy.”

Could Daniella be using her ships in the house as a strategy to remain in the BBNaija house? It would appear this week’s guests on The Buzz think so.

Commenting on Groovy seemingly trying to assert his dominance over Phyna, Philomina said that Groovy is showing himself as an alpha male, and is taking lectures from lockdown roomie/BFF Sheggz. Glory also added both men had had a conversation during lockdown about their game in the BBNaija house. She said Sheggz is flaunting his control over Bella, indirectly telling Groovy that he has scored.

Discussing Hermes and Allysyn, Glory stated that Allysyn is using Hermes as protection because he is a strong housemate, further pointing out that she is as much a floater, and as indecisive as Daniella.

Moving on to Hermes and his focus on food and tasks, Glory was of the opinion that Hermes comes off as a coward because he shouts into thin air during arguments rather than direct his jabs at a particular housemate. Husband Material, on the other hand, said it was a strategy where you don’t talk to people directly, but rather wait for someone to react, which will then determine your nextmove.

Going back to the Shella ship and how Sheggz sent Eloswag to talk to Bella during their fight at the party, Husband Material commented that we can’t expect “Big Sheggz” to create peace. Glory also commented that Sheggz calculates when the camera would be on them whenever they have an issue, so he can create highlights for himself.

Bringing the episode to an end, the group discussed Chichi and Deji’s moves under the sheet, with Toke stating that the girls this season are “taking being on top to the next level.” She further hailed the female housemates for “putting Nigerian men to shame”.

“From Daniella to Chomzy, at least they’re (female housemates) putting Nigerian men to shame when they say two minutes after being on top you’re like uurghh,” she said in reference to running jokes online about Nigerian women and their inability to maintain a certain position in bed.

TV/Movies / Bbnaija: Sheggz Is The Most Toxic Man To Ever Be On Bbnaija - Ajibola Grey by MissOH: 4:02pm On Sep 05, 2022
Just as the BBNaija housemates give us drama, Toke Makinwa and her celebrity guests on The Buzz stay giving us gbas gbos on the situationships in the house.

From content creator Ajibola Grey saying Sheggz is the most manipulative person he has ever seen in his life, to YouTuber Anita Ihesie saying, “if Dotun did not win Head of House for this week, he would have gone home,” this week’s guests on The Buzz had plenty to say.

“I’ve never in my life seen anyone, anything as manipulative as that,” Ajibola said of Sheggz after Toke asked the guests if they thought he was manipulative.

Speaking on Sheggz’s relationship with Bella, Ajibola said, “he’s the most toxic man to have been on Big Brother Naija.” He further stated that Bella would get to the point where she knows that she needs to leave.

Commenting on Daniella and her confused relationship with Dotun, Ajibola stated that Daniella has a “bad b*tch” streak, but is afraid of getting “slut-shamed,” while Anita said she doesn’t like Daniella with either Khalid or Dotun.

The conversation was then directed to Hermes and Allysyn’s relationship, and Ajibola pointed out, “Allysyn cannot handle Hermes because of his personality,” but Toke and Anita did not agree, saying that they see Hermes as very endearing and affectionate.

Speaking about Doyin and how the housemates think she’s evil, Ajibola stated that Doyin is the most emotionally intelligent and strategic person in the house. He also added that Deji likes Doyin and that is why he is saying too much about her. Anita further pointed out that Doyin is bored, hence her quest to be in a ship.

Meanwhile Toke and her guests had different opinions on who is hottest in the BBNaija house. While Ajibola picked Diana, Anita picked Allysyn, and Toke went for Chichi.

Moving back to the ships in the house, Ajibola said he is “waiting for Bella to come out of the house so that Lagos big boys can take her through Lagos life”, and then she would know that Big Sheggz is all a scam. The ladies agreed about Bella being smart but wished she showed it more, while Ajibola’s response was that Sheggz’s toxic trait was taming Bella.

The episode came to an end when Toke asked her guests if the Shella ship would last outside the house, and both guests gave a resounding “no”. Ajibola also added that Sheggz can’t fulfil all the promises he has made to Bella, and Lagos men would sweep Bella off her feet.

TV/Movies / Bbnaija S7: See How Twitter Nigeria Is Reacting To Amaka’s Surprise Eviction by MissOH: 2:13pm On Aug 30, 2022
It’s been under 24 hours since Amaka’s shocking eviction from the BBNaija house. Expectedly, Twitter Nigeria has been buzzing, with “Amaka” maintaining the top-two Twitter Nigeria trend position since her exit.

Amaka was evicted yesterday evening after Biggie asked the BBNaija housemates to nominate two people they would like to leave, right after the Head of House games.

Many have labeled Amaka’s eviction unfair given that she was a strong contender, pointing out that she didn’t deserve to leave Biggie’s house in such a twist.

From ex-BBNaija housemates to celebrities, social media influencers and regular Joes, here’s what some BBNaija fans had to say about Amaka leaving the house.

PR, fashion and style consultant Noble Igwe felt her fans deserved a chance to prove their stanship.

[/quote] @Nobsdaslushhkid: Amaka’s eviction is so unfair for a solid player this season.

Amaka’s fan are the most polite this season and it’s a pity they didn’t get the chance to fight for her.
I pray that Makibillions goes far in life and may the odds always be in her favour.
Such a great girl

…while ace Nigerian music producer Don Jazzy had a question for the TL. Baba we sef dey wonder..

@Donjazzy: Ahh what happened ooo? Heard Amaka is gone. How? #bbnaija

Then there was Daniel Regha with the conspiracy theories. Baba be calming down!

@Danielregha: Erica was d!squalified so Laycon could win, Tacha had to do to reduce Mercy's competition; There's a pattern in BBNaija, the organisers always have a fave so anyone who's a competition will be sent home. Amaka was among the top 5 contenders so far this season, so she was evicted.

For ex-BBNaija housemate Leo it was love and light
@LeoBDaSilva: All the best to Amaka ✨

Ex-BBNaija housemate Queen was clearly an Amaka stan, here’s hoping the pair connect now she’s out.

@Queenmatang: “It was nice meeting you all, I love you all.” Words from a real one she didn’t give no attitude leaving. And hey! She also told them, “ it’s okay, It’s fine” with hugs to everyone. Amaka your heart is pure❤️

E shock us too
@poojamedia: Amaka was shocked.

She thought Biggie was playing like Oba Solomon. Chai

Tweet Oracle echoed a lot of sentiments about the eviction, that Amaka was a star player who got cut short in her prime.

@tweetoracle: I feel so SAD for Amaka.
Her eviction seem so SUDDEN and totally Unexpected.
It clearly shows that Big brother is not smiling and is so FULL of twists this season.
She had been a spotlight this season and I wish her well in all her future endeavors
#BBNaija

Mother and daugher BBNaija stans, we love to see it.
@lisafredonly: My mum: so Amaka has left true true
Me: as in eh
Mum: I thought it's fake eviction na

TV/Movies / Bbnaija S7: Beauty Has More Personality Than Bella - Simi Drey by MissOH: 4:25pm On Aug 29, 2022
At this point, it’s safe to say the BBNaija Level Up housemates clearly understood the assignment giving us what media personality Moni Osibodu described on The Buzz as possibly “the messiest Big Brother I’ve seen”. We couldn’t agree more.

This week, media personality Simi Drey, ex-BBNaija housemate Sir Dee, and Moni joined Toke on The Buzz to discuss the merging of the BBNaija house.

Kicking off with the first female Head of House (HOH) Chomzy and Eloswag sharing the HOH room, Simi Drey said she didn’t expect any “action” from the pair because “Chomzy still likes Groovy.” The ladies also discussed Chomzy’s laidback attitude to leadership and her decision to let Eloswag do all the work.

Moving on to the merging of the house, Simi Drey pointed out that the division between the Levels was still apparent, but the ships were getting interesting because now everyone is together, and the “grass is no longer greener on the other side”.

Onto the ships in the house, The Buzz guests agreed that Bella and Sheggz had given up on the money, referring to Bella’s conversation with Doyin where she said even if she didn’t win the money, finding love with Sheggz was still a win. Ahem!

Still on Shella, Simi Drey stated that Sheggz might be on some Yoruba demon p, pointing out that Yoruba men were notorious for introducing women they date to family and friends as a serious girlfriend. But said girl could be side chick number 4. She added that Sheggz had all the trappings of a Yoruba demon and wouldn’t be surprised if he was just playing Bella.

Speaking of Yoruba demons, the conversation spun to the Deji and Chichi ship, and Moni theorised that Deji probably went after Chichi because he saw she was “the weakest link in the house”. Gbas gbos.

Moving on to the gossip train that dominated house discussions this week and included Chomzy, Chichi, Amaka, Phyna, and Bella, Simi Drey said Bella should have fessed up. According to her, given the fact that Bella repeated what she was told about Phyna and Groovy to Chomzy, she should have owned up to the rumour.

“If you’re going to start a rumour, own it,” she said of Bella’s denial.

Bringing the episode to an end with the ever topical Shella ship, Moni pointed out that Beauty was “the only person that would have made Bella shake,” while Simi Drey added that Beauty “has more personality than Bella, because outside Sheggz and her ship, Who is she?.”

Shots fired!

TV/Movies / Bbnaija S7: Bella And Sheggz Are Annoying - Kess by MissOH: 11:18pm On Aug 25, 2022
The BBNaija Eviction Vodcast this week saw recently evicted housemates Kess and Pharmsavi chat about their time in the house with Elozonam, who wasted no time in tackling Kess for not living up to his promise.

During the BBNaija Level Up season launch, Kess said his wife had given him a pass to mingle in the house. So we had expected Kess to take his hall pass, and run with it, but, as Elozonam put it, he “still had the married man energy”.

“It wasn’t me, I came in open-minded although I wouldn’t do certain things like have sex, I was willing to have fun. But as soon as I told the ladies in my house I was married, they just decided to give me my space,” he shared with Elo.

Moving on to Pharmsavi, both Elo and Kess teased Pharmsavi about giving off virgin vibes with Kess saying, “Pharmsavi seems like a virgin to me”.

Speaking further on Pharmsavi and his seeming lack of game in the house, Kess shared how shy Pharmsavi was when Christy O asked him to remove her bra, and how he begged Kess not to leave the room.

Ahem!

In response, Pharmsavi said he didn’t really know what happened with him in the BBNaija house, adding that at the beginning of the show, he was just trying to find his feet.

Also speaking on being put up for eviction by ex-roomie Eloswag, Pharmsavi said he felt betrayed. More so because he and Eloswag spent a lot of time together, and discussed their plans during lockdown.

“You should have seen this guy backstage after he was evicted. He was so pissed, they had to calm him down,” Kess shared.

Now, while Bella and Sheggz may have found love in the BBNaija Level Up house, their affection appears to be rubbing quite a number of housemates the wrong way, including Kess and Pharmsavi, who both described the couple as annoying.

“Sheggz was really protective of Bella and it was irritating. I’m thinking ‘how far now allow this girl vibe’. Bella is actually very cool, there was a time I noticed Bella wanted to vibe but then Sheggz was all over her.”

Check out the full conversation on this week’s BBNaija Evicition Vodcast on Showmax, including Pharmsavi and Kess’s audition videos, messages from their family and the pair reading mean tweets.

TV/Movies / House Of The Dragon Now Available To Stream On Showmax In Nigeria by MissOH: 7:30pm On Aug 24, 2022
Showmax has announced that House of the Dragon is now available on the streaming service in Nigeria.

When the series premiered in the United States on Sunday, it broke HBO’s viewing records, with almost 10 million fans watching the first episode of the epic fantasy.

The Guardian wrote: “House of the Dragon is designed to reward diehard fantasy fans in full measure without alienating the masses that will propel it to the top of the ratings,” while IGN declared “It’s good to be back in backstabbing Westeros.”

House of the Dragon is the prequel series to HBO’s Game of Thrones. It is based on author George RR Martin’s book Fire & Blood, and chronicles the history of House Targaryen.

Game of Thrones remains one of the most binge-watched series of all time on Showmax, and House of the Dragon takes place 200 years before the cataclysmic events, a time when the Targaryen family reigned supreme with fearsome dragons as their enforcers.

Paddy Considine (Peaky Blinders, The Outsider) plays King Viserys I, while Sian Brooke (Sherlock)plays Queen Aemma. Matt Smith (The Crown) is Prince Daemon Targaryen, the younger brother to the king, a fierce warrior and dragon rider, while relative newcomer Emma D’Arcy (Truth Seekers) plays Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen, who is in awe of Prince Daemon and all that he does.

Fans can also expect to meet members of the House of Velaryon, who dominate the seas. LordCorlys Velaryon (also known as the Sea Snake) is played by the enigmatic Steve Toussaint (Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time). Rounding up the royal dynasties is House Hightower, with Olivia Cooke and Rhys Ifans starring.

The first episode of House of the Dragon is now available on Showmax. New episodes arrive on the platform weekly.

TV/Movies / Bbnaija S7: Chomzy Beats Bella To Emerge First Female Bbnaija Level Up HOH by MissOH: 10:34am On Aug 23, 2022
..and then there was a female Head of House in the BBNaija Level Up house.

Five weeks after the kick off of the BBNaija Level Up season, Chomzy beat Bella in keenly contested Head of House (HOH) games to emerge the first female BBNaija Level Up HOH.

This week’s HOH games saw the disqualification of all the male housemates for breaking the rules of the game. Incumbent HOH Eloswag did not contest as per the HOH rules. Phyna was also barred from taking part in the HOH games for not completing her task as tail of the house last week.

With the ladies left in the running, Chomzy and Bella emerged tops in the next round of games, but Chomzy eventually won and picked Eloswag as her deputy. Both housemates will now have access to the HOH lounge, given that both houses have now been merged.

Following the HOH games, the nomination process began but not without several plot twists. With the merging of the houses, Big Brother decided to give the housemates one week to bond, meaning there will be no eviction this week. However, the housemates remained blissfully unaware as they were asked to fake nominate housemates for possible eviction.

After the fake nomination, Big Brother then put all the housemates up for fake eviction for their “bad behaviour and propensity to drag their feet when summoned.” Interesting times ahead. Check out how each housemate nominated:

Diana – Chichi and Sheggz

Rachel – Doyin and Sheggz

Chichi – Allysyn and Adekunle

Bryann – Chichi and Adekunle

Doyin – Hermes and Rachel

Eloswag – Doyin and Amaka

Groovy – Adekunle and Doyin

Daniella – Chichi and Hermes

Amaka – Adekunle and Chichi

Phyna – Adekunle and Hermes

Allysyn – Chichi and Rachel

Adekunle – Bella and Sheggz

Bella – Hermes and Amaka

Hermes – Chichi and Doyin

TV/Movies / Bbnaija S7: Allysyn Is Playing For The Audience - Efa Iwara by MissOH: 4:15pm On Aug 22, 2022
Another week, another exciting take from Toke Makinwa and her guests on happenings in the BBNaija house on The Buzz.

This week, Toke was joined by comedian Oli Ekun, media personality and actress Idia Aisien, and Unbroken actor Efa Iwara. As always, the guests had plenty to say – including the fact that Allysyn could be playing for the cameras.

Speaking on her situation with Adekunle and Deji, Efa stated that Allysyn was just playing both men and giving the audience a show.

“I feel like Allysyn is definitely playing both (Adekunle and Deji). I don’t really think she’s emotionally invested, I feel like she’s just doing what the audience wants to see and she thinks Adekunle and Deji are cool. I think she’s just having fun.”

Moving on to the infamous Adekunle and Sheggz fight, Toke asked Efa who he would have placed a bet on if things had gone down, and while he said his money would have been on Adekunle, he added that he liked Sheggz’s approach because “the goal is to not get a strike.”

Toke went further to ask her guests if both men were threatened by each other, and while Oli Ekun and Efa thought both men gave the alpha male vibe, Idia said Sheggz was giving ex-BBNaija housemate Kiddwaya vibes.

What’s an episode of The Buzz without some hot takes? Oli Ekun gave us a little vawulence when he said Adekunle was not “far from the truth,” for saying Sheggz is “not intellectual.” He added that it was coming from a personal place given that he had stumbled on his girlfriend’s tweet, which said “I want to have Sheggz kids.”

Ouch.

Speaking on Phyna and her relationship with Groovy, Toke asked Idia if she thinks Phyna’s game is affected by her relationship with Groovy, to which she responded that it was normal, “you fall in love and you fall off your game.” They added that Phyna was losing focus, and everyone is talking about it.

The episode came to an end when Toke asked her guests if Doyin knows Deji is a fake housemate. Idia responded that Doyin could be onto him, while Efa had us all cracking up when he said “Doyin is an investigative journalist.”

Watch Toke Makinwa and her guests on The Buzz, showing exclusively on Showmax Tuesdays and Saturdays at 7 pm WAT.

TV/Movies / Bbnaija S7: Khalid Opens Up About Sex With Daniella by MissOH: 11:17am On Aug 19, 2022
It’s not what you think, people. That is recently evicted BBNaija housemate, Khalid’s story and he’s sticking by it.

Khalid and fellow BBNaija housemate/love interest Daniella had sent social media into a frenzy when footage of what seemed like the pair having sex under the duvet emerged.

But after much speculation, Khalid cleared the air with host Elozonam on the latest episode of the BBNaija Eviction Vodcast, saying he did not have sex with Daniella in the BBNaija Level Up house. Period.

“It did not go that far regardless of what anyone wants to think,” Khalid stated on the BBNaija Eviction Vodcast.

“I saw the video, I saw everything and I’m a smart guy, I won’t come and lie to your face and think everyone is a donkey. But at the end of the day, nothing happened.”

Khalid, however, acknowledged the awkwardness of things and apologised to both his family and Daniella’s.

“Concerning the whole thing, I’m going to have to apologise to the families, I’m truly sorry for putting us in that position.”

He also added that, at the end of the day, it was the BBNaija house, and “we have feelings, so what do you expect.”

“But if it caused any trouble, I’m really sorry about that,” he concluded.

Meanwhile, commenting on the relationship between Khalid and Daniella, Ilebeya, who was evicted alongside Khalid during the latest Sunday Live Eviction show, shared that she was actually the person who brought the pair together.

“Funny enough, I was the one who brought them together low-key. I felt Daniella liked him, so there was this time we (Khalid and I) were speaking about his ex then she (Daniella) came, and I was like ‘I think she wants to talk to him’. So I said, ‘Okay, Daniella, just come and talk to him’ and I allowed both of them.”

Still on the matter of relationships in the house, Elozonam questioned Ilebeya on her situation with Bryann.

“I just wanted vibes and I told Bryann that I want vibes, even if you like me or trying to catch cruise with me, I want to catch cruise with you too, or if you like me that’s your business because the feeling isn’t mutual. I don’t see any connection, I just want vibes but we can still be friends”.

Further quizzed on Groovy and whether she had a thing for him, Ilebaye responded that she merely saw him as a friend.

“I never liked him, Groovy was too fine for me to like.”

We hear you, sis.

But it wasn’t all boy/girl talk on the show, as the BBNaija stars got in their feelings after they were played messages from their respective fathers stating how proud the parents were of them.

Watch Khalid and Daniella’s predictions on who leaves the house next, their audition videos plus Khalid’s take on his future with Daniella outside the house on this week’s episode of the BBNaija Eviction Vodcast.

The BBNaija Eviction Vodcast streams on Showmax with new episodes dropping Wednesdays at 7 PM WAT.

TV/Movies / Bbnaija: “groovy Is Losing His Groove” - Chigul by MissOH: 2:37pm On Aug 17, 2022
Groovy may have started out as charming and likable in the BBNaija house, but he appears to be losing his groove. This is according to comedienne Chigul who shared this on the latest episode of The Buzz.

The Ghost and the House of Truth actress, who was a guest on The Buzz alongside media personality Jimmie and brand consultant Pamilerin, shared that her first impression of Groovy was “likable,” but now she feels “he is losing his groove.” She added that Groovy needs to start giving the audience something new.

Commenting on how Phyna appears to have done Amaka dirty by going after Groovy, King Jimmie was full of advice for Amaka and other ladies in the BBNaija house across levels saying “don’t let a man get involved in your business, because once a man gets involved, emotions get involved.”

Still on the matter, Toke pointed out how Amaka and Phyna’s sisterhood was ruined because of “one pink-haired guy” aka Groovy, with Chigul adding that Phyna had lost points for putting the moves on him. King Jimmie further advised Amaka to face her battles, and pick the easiest one to deal with, adding that if Amaka does not have a chance with either Groovy or Giddyfia, she should accept that she is a soloist, and forget the “group performance.”

Meanwhile, commenting on the two-house format this year on BBNaija, Chigul stated that a reshuffling between the two levels would be a great idea to shake things up, with Big Brother moving some housemates from one level to another.

“I feel like something needs to happen soon, a reshuffling needs to happen.” She also said that the Level 1 housemates seem domineering. Toke, on the other hand, argued that they seemed that way because the Level 2 house hadn’t won the Head of House games yet. Either way, the ladies both agreed that a shakeup would be a good idea, and we agree.

Moving on to Doyin and her great need to be coupled up, Chigul commented that Doyin needs to understand that she is “her own vibe”. While King Jimmie was of the opinion that being in a confined space puts you in a dilemma, “the one of real life and being a human being, and remembering that the outside world is watching.”
What’s an episode of The Buzz without discussing the most-talked-about ship, Sheggz and Bella? Toke was of the opinion that Sheggz is not living his truth of “letting his woman do what she wants,” while Pamilerin pointed out that Sheggz is in love, so he cannot control himself, and King Jimmie ended the discussion by saying Sheggz should give Bella breathing space.

TV/Movies / Bbnaija Season 7: How The Double-house Format Has Restored Unpredictability by MissOH: 1:51pm On Aug 11, 2022
There was excitement in the air as the BBNaija Level Up housemates stepped into the arena on Monday evening for the Head of House game, hugging their friends from across levels and engaging in small talk. Then the camera cut to Doyin, searching for Beauty and Cyph, her best friends in Level 2. Her smile faded as she realised what had happened. The tears came a few minutes later.

For viewers at home, we knew this was coming, but still, it was sad. We knew Beauty had been disqualified and Cyph evicted, but Doyin was just looking forward to her gossip partner and love interest. She enjoyed those small talks with Beauty – they caused trouble in their different houses, but what’s the fun without little sprinkles of chaos in Big Brother’s house?

She also definitely enjoyed locking lips with Cyph every Saturday.
Social media cried with her as we all felt her heartbreak, but we couldn’t help but marvel at how the double-house format is bringing new and unique elements to BBNaija.

Typically, housemates bond quickly because they are in the same house 24/7, and relationships spring up within a few days. Introducing two houses changes the dynamic; we are seeing contestants engage in long-distance relationships, which seem more exciting. Doyin looks forward to meeting Beauty; Phyna begs Biggie for a few minutes with EloSwag; Amaka talks about GiddyFia all the time.

Scarcity has entered BBNaija relationships, and absence makes the heart grow fonder. We are seeing for the first time the feelings and longing that occupy body and soul when loved ones aren’t within reach in Biggie’s house.

But perhaps the most crucial dynamic introduced by the double-house feature is unpredictability.

Nigerians know how to guy a guy-man, and this has been evident in recent seasons of BBNaija. Contestants with thorough game plans, or those who look and act in a certain way, cruise into the final stages, making the game predictable. From launch day, you could tell the show’s winner by how they talk, look, or were perceived. After the first week, you had your confirmation.

All that changes this year.

TV/Movies / Bbnaija: I Collapsed Backstage After I Was Evicted - Christy O by MissOH: 1:40pm On Aug 11, 2022
The first episode of the BBNaija Eviction Vodcast, hosted by Elozonam, dropped yesterday evening, and things got off to a juicy start when Christy O shared that she collapsed backstage after she was evicted from the BBNaija house.

“When Ebuka called my name I was disappointed in myself, but I was holding it together and I went out. I was just trying to control myself but then when I got backstage, I don’t know what came over me, the next thing I just felt really dizzy, and then I was on the floor, I think Cyph helped me. I literally collapsed right there.”
She said that she’s better now and adjusting to the reality of having been evicted barely two weeks into the show.

On how she ended up on the chopping block, Christy O shared that she was very shocked to have been nominated by Hermes as she had no business with him. She can only conclude that Hermes took note of her during the BBNaija tasks when Bryann would chant, “Christy O with the drums”.

“I was eating before and I almost choked when I heard my name. Thinking about it, I think it was the drumming situation because my housemates were really shouting ‘Christy O, you dey drum’ repeatedly and the name Christy O can stick in your head.”
