yamakuza: once you "friend" a person, the msgs become hidden/private.

I see! You seem to have understood the new features already, maybe you can also explain why I'm unable to receive msgs. Viewing the 'moderation logs' page, I see that I was sent a msg but I never receive these msgs or even get notified about 'em. I initially thought it was a general problem but I now think it's a personal one.

BOX
Cut four 12-in. by 6 ½-in. rectangles out of pink fondant;
cut one rectangle in half. Also cut 3-in. wide strips of pink
fondant, two 12 ins. long and two 6 ins. long. Allow the
fondant to dry for 24 hours. Prepare an 18-in. round cake
board by covering it with black fondant and gluing a black
ribbon around the edge. Stack a half layer of cake on top
a full layer and trim to 12 ins. by 6 ins.; crumb ice the
cake. Place the cake in the back center of the cake board.
Attach the dried fondant rectangles to the sides of the
cake using buttercream icing.

Attach the strips of pink fondant to the remaining
rectangle of fondant using melted white chocolate
to create the top of the shoebox. Pour melted
white chocolate into the lid to strengthen it. Allow the

long. Run an embossing tool (ball tool to smooth), along

Cut squares of white and pink fondant and scrunch them
slightly to look like tissue paper. Allow them to dry before
using on the cake.

to attach the dried fondant tissue paper. Fill the top of
the box with the tissue paper.

Create the shoe out of black fondant. Cut the sole into
the proper shape, and prop it on a cut Styrofoam cup to
dry to achieve the arch of the shoe. Form a pointed heel
out of black fondant; cut strips of black fondant to form
the straps for the shoe, and place them over an arched
piece of cardstock to dry. Let all elements dry overnight.

Airbrush black pearl color on all the shoe parts.
Once dry, set the sole on top of the heel and attach
with melted chocolate.

Attach the strips of black fondant across the toe of
the shoe with melted chocolate; trim if necessary.
Cut a strip of black fondant for the shoe tie, and
airbrush with black pearl color. Attach it to the heel
of the shoe with melted chocolate. Drape the tails
of the ribbon over the instep of the sole. Embellish
the shoe by piping dots of gray icing across the
straps of the shoe and on the tie. Place silver
dragees on the dots of icing.

Position the shoe in the shoebox on top of the tissue
paper; add more tissue if needed. Prop the lid against
the side of the box. Use tip No. 124 to outline the
edges of the lid with dark pink icing.

With the same No. 124 tip, pipe several pink roses on a
flower nail, and position them at the corners of the box

Then, add Happy Birthday in black icing on the side of the

1) Having the topics centered on the page of a section makes the site look more orderly, unlike before. Kudos!
Can you also make posts centered on the pages of a thread, like it was on the old Nairaland - i.e the poster's name appears on the left side of the page with a vertical line to separate ''username space'' from ''comment space''. That way, threads will look more neat and orderly.
As it is now, threads seem to be totally chaotic, posts scattered everywhere, you can hardly notice a post directed at you.

2) Can we have our signatures under our posts like it was on the old Nairaland

I love the way posts are arranged now. Unlike the way it used to be, the place now looks a bit orderly. . . You no longer have the impression of being in the middle of posts scattered everywhere.
I can now support the ''Let's give Seun time to rebuild Nairaland'' club.

Her action should have been excused on the basis of ignorance, but some people are very difficult to please.
Just when you've done all you can and it seems peace is not forthcoming, keep your distance.

How to calculate your age using chocolate

1. How many times do you eat chocolate in a week? (More than 1 and less than 10, sorry)

2. Multiply that number by 2

3. Add 5

4. Multiply by 50

5. If you have already had your birthday this year, add 1762. Otherwise, add 1761.

6. Now, subtract your year of birth.

You should have a 3 digit number.  The first one is how many times you eat chocolate per week.  The other 2 are your age.

(Only works for the current year.  For next year, you have to add 1 to the 1762 and 1761)

= (100x + 2012) - YOB 


Hence, the 1st 2 digits give you 00 - YOB (Hence, year of birth)

While some of the responses are quite misguided, I do agree with the vast majority that do not exactly see the "fun" in this so-called trick, especially when I still have to supply my year of birth to determine my age.  Looking at the title of the post, one would have anticipated something out of the ordinary, as it seems almost inconceivable that anyone would be able to calculate their age just from their shoe size.  And while the trick does not entirely lie in the submission of your year of birth as you rightly stated, it however relies heavily on it to determine the outcome of your calculations (which is quite honestly DUMB, considering that the poster claims the trick is "a useful invention for PAs and MAs who cannot tell their correct age."  It makes less sense - when you think about it - to attempt calculate anyone's age with their shoe size if they already know their year of birth anyway.


So, no, this is not wow-ful.  

The lot of them had no idea what they were talking about, jare.  A simple case of follow-follow.  I still find it interesting and wow-ful 

Furthermore, consider the following:

- For those born in the later months of the year, the final answer is not exactly "accurate".

- The trick only works for those born AFTER 1912 AD.

- In essence, the claim to be able to calculate ANYONE's age with their shoe size is completely invalid.
