idris4r83: Watching nigerian films with your family these days can be embarrassing. I think the censored board are not doing their work cos at times d films will be labelled for general viewers (pg) but the reverse will be the case. These people (nollywood movie industry) are teaching immorality to the children. please nigerian films should not be watched with your family especially if you have kids.Wait till you view a Ghanaian movie. . . . Nigerian movies are not that bad. |
Why do I think sending her away is not enough? It's not enough. To where will she be sent? Isn't that a way of encouraging her not to confide in anyone again because rather than having the problem affronted and probably solved, it will be eluded? Is it not possible that as she continues to go through life, at some point she will encounter 'another' molester - how have you taught her to handle a like situation? Most importantly, isn't it a way of permitting the growth of the sick act and amplifying the chances of other people falling victims? I still say do some investigations and confront your dad, if you find him guilty. The little girl has to be reassured she took the right step by speaking out. The world out there is a tough one, I daresay especially for women (looking at it from a certain angle). . .She should be taught and encouraged henceforth to always speak out and fight back. Running away is not enough, evil is everywhere. |
taryour: am sure d girl is still young n naive,if she stays,d man will deny it all and would even involve alot of pple, tell lots of lies against her to look saint, and all will turnd against her,dey will laff st her n call her names since she dosnt have a witness. D best is for her to leave ASAP. my own opinionSending her away to protect her from stigmatization or outsiders' disbelief is one thing, sending her away to protect the father, better put, save the father the shame and disgrace is another thing. For the sake of sanity, I do hope you meant the first, but mistakenly inscribed the latter. Coldfeet: My cousin.I'm not quick to dish out advice, so I wouldn't know what to advise you to do, but, try at all costs not to make her regret ever confiding in you. Investigate the issue if possible, and if you have enough reason to believe your cousin completely, confront your dad strictly. Until then, make sure she's safe and not exposed to further danger. |
taryour: pls send her away shap shap,to save ur dad disgrace n shame if its true he did datLike, honestly? ![]() The supposed guilty man is to be protected while the supposed victim is to be shut up, by being sent away? You people are something else! Coldfeet:Who's this girl to you? |
monicawu5891: Where do you get the ice to put in soft drinks? You make the ice in the fridge or you buy the ice in shops. I am a little bit curious.I fill my ice cube tray with water and put in the freezer, and after some time, voilà, my ice is ready. |
Johndoe100: @missy_bWhat has double jeopardy got to do with you being found guilty of a crime you've not been sentenced for? How on Earth do you have a right to double jeopardy if you have not been previously acquitted? If you were convicted of manslaughter or any crime, you will be sentenced. Maybe I should remind you that double jeopardy only safeguards your right to not being tried again after acquittal, tried again after conviction (if you were found guilty, you ought to face the penalty), and/or sentenced twice for the same crime. If you were convicted of manslaughter instead of murder by reason of having been provoked, you face the penalty. Double jeopardy only sees to it that you are not tried again or sentenced again for a crime you've already been punished/sentenced for or declared innocent of. It does not let you go unpunished, if you've been found guilty. Section 36 (9) of the Nigerian Constitution: "No person who shows that he has been tried by any court of competent jurisdiction or tribunal for a criminal offence and either convicted or acquitted shall again be tried for that offence or for a criminal offence having the same ingredients as that offence save upon the order of a superior court." It only protects you from being tried again, not from being punished. |
Johndoe100: I have been on this forum and this board long enough to know that the truth is a minor matter easily brushed aside. In any issue, case or matter there is always two sides. Women got beat, yes. Maybe they deserved it. It always amazes me when people react to these images without THE WHOLE STORY.What is this one talking about? The law DOES NOT permit you to kill anyone [simply because you had been provoked]. That sounded immeasureably stupid that I had to quickly skim through the Criminal Code Act of Nigeria to see where that was stated and the exact words used. Section 317 of CCA states : ''A person who unlawfully kills another in such circumstances as not to constitute murder is guilty of manslaughter.'' Section 318 of CCA states :''When a person who unlawfully kills another in circumstances which, but for the provisions of this section, would constitute murder does the act which causes death in the heat of passion caused by grave and sudden provocation, and before there is time for his passion to cool, he is guilty of manslaughter only. He is guilty of manslaughter . . .He's not all of a sudden discharged and acquitted. Manslaughter is a crime and there are penalties for it depending whether is is voluntary or involuntary and the factors of the case. The maximum penalty, they say, is life imprisonment. So, you best think twice before going on a walking tour looking for the next available lady to provoke you, so you could beat her up and probably send her to an early grave. Plus, yes, there's no justification for beating a woman; engage a fellow man in a fight, if you must. |

They are both leavening agents, the slight difference is explained below. Baking soda is a pure leavening agent. It needs to be mixed with moisture and an acidic ingredient for the necessary chemical reaction to take place to make food rise. Because it needs an acid to create the rising quality, it is often used in recipes where there is already an acidic ingredient present, such as lemon juice, chocolate, buttermilk or honey. |
Very useful, indeed. My fav. naija movie site at the moment. IrokoTv sure has the edge over other movie sites. The day I found that site, I stopped visiting the others. |
Blessed art thou, woman! ![]() |
We all cannot be smart. . . mistakes abound, some were misinformed about the institution even before they took the bold step. All that is required is a little tolerance while you continually render effective advice to those in need of it. It's a challenging task, but someone has to do it. |
I'd never heard of fayrouz until now. Well, from this article, the answer is yes. http://nationalmirroronline.net/business/brand-and-marketing/26074.html |
I hope he's been set ablaze already. |
It's still very possible to get him back on track, start now before it's too late. Na wa for children of today eh! Even at 18, me, sleep out? I wan die? I only went out alone after profound explanation of where I was going, and God help me should I exceed the return-back time established. |

tjskii: Hiya,I'm having issues with the new nl search engine, whenever I need a recipe and type in the keywords, irrelevant topics come up. Take for example tonight, was searching for banga soup recipe and off topic threads came up, please something shud be done bout this cos the former searchengine was better,I also noticed the quality of the current search engine is poorer than the previous one. Hopefully, the admin is taking note. Meanwhile, you'll have to go through the results to find the one that best matches your search request. |

Yes, I do put ice in my drink. |
dayokanu: Would you be able to moan in your bedroom knowing your mom might be overhearing her innocent daughter making those obscene sounds and asking for moreThe youth of marriage is usually the most free part of the institution. Even when the kids start coming in, you change habits; which includes regulating the volume of your moan or waiting for them to go to bed before humping. So, when/if the parent comes, habits will be changed. TOPIC: That she may live long long enough to have me voluntarily and joyful mother her! I'm obligated to. |
I've not been opportune to see or taste a Nigerian dish made with both beans and corn. I know moin-moin is prepared with only beans, and ekusu being quite the same thing is prepared with only corn. Hopefully the yorubas come in and help us out. |
sevule: Hi Miss B, I would really love to have a copy of your maggie e-book to enhance my lousy cooking skills. My email is sevule1@gmail.com. Thanks in advanceSent! |
They serve me the purpose movies are supposed to serve. They entertain me, teach and remind me of some fundamental life lessons. Nollywood is one currently imperfect industry I so much appreciate. |
It's sad enough that we live in a world where anyone and anything can hurt you without thinking twice, but when the only one that's supposed to maximally protect you is the one doing the hurting- intentionally? Poor child . . .Unenlightened mother. ![]() |
I'm with Ngodigha on this. ![]() |
With everything one sees and hears on the News, this is one mistake I have vowed not to make. |
The work of separating the peels from the seeds after the machine has done the peeling seems to be even more tedious than 'breaking' the melon with hands. Continue here - https://www.nairaland.com/899009/melon-egwusi-peeling-machine-cheap |
Well, Seun, you'll need to first understand where the problem lies and then sort it out before your suggestion can be effectuated. I attach the file, click submit, and I'm automatically logged out. . . .Eventually, as is obvious, neither the post nor the e-book is visible. |
