i dont think there should be a feeding pattern, feed when the baby is hungry, if the baby is stooling alot, naturally she will be hungry and dehydrated, or have u even thot of the fact that she might not be satisfied with just breastmilk? how old is ur baby?
Nita2013:
Hello dear, I don't think u should be feeding ur baby every 30minutes. That's definitely too much and she won't get enough sleep like u AV stated neither will u get enough rest during d day. Pls try and establish a feeding pattern say like every 2-3hrs.

Yes at 1st it will be difficult because she is now use to every 30mins feeding but just increase d timing gradually. U can start by adding 15mins until u get to d 2-3hrs timing.

i used thrive for my first baby, follow on formula cos i did exclusive, her appetite is/was very good, i dunno if its just her or the thrive contributed, but no record of constipation or any other complains.

thank you
MiracleMum:
I support Tchiwnnie's suggestion. which are you not comfortable with? the nanny at creche or home nanny? if its a home nanny - she can be changed and if its a creche, you can change your baby's creche or make a report to the school authority - after all you're paying for it.

There's another option, which some of my colleague use. They bring their nanny and baby along to work, because we have a cozy lounge in the office where they use. This way they can monitor the nanny and correct any anomaly. I didn't go with this option because i didnt want friends and colleagues carrying my baby, so i chose creche. But recently, i didn't like the attitude from one of the caregivers to the babies and i made an anonymous report about it to the school authority. (anonymous so my baby wont be victimized) The next day this particular nanny was removed from the creche and replaced with someone else.

Truth be told, we cant expect perfection from them, no one can take care of our babies better than us. Resigning from work is not that easy, it changes a lot of things especially when hubby's income alone cannot suffice.
Kindly consider other options before resigning. Its well with you dear.

Mothers in the house o, has anyone had to resign from work to take care of her baby and then got back to work wen the baby was older? I want to do this but with unemployment wahala, should I just endure with nannies or just resign. My baby isn't getting the care she deserves.
Advice pls, I am confused.

i totally agree with u........... was just implying that teething powder is at least the safest, since its for teething purposes
Rashomo:
wow, in as much as I understand n lyk ur post buh do u knw sum doctor stil kick against d use of teething powder cos i had my first , i asked of d best teething medicine to take , though different grandmas said teething powder is fyn buh d doctor said no, buh she advised dat i shd only give paracetamol if she has temperature..
HealthRe: NEW BORN BABIES! Are U A New Mum? Then Lets Discuss Babies Here!!!!! by mitche15: 2:49pm On Sep 11, 2015
hello mommas, pls i would like to advise you all on measures you take that adversely affect your babies health in the long run e.g using skineal or sudocreme mixed with whatever for daily creme is wrong. the makers of skineal/sudocreme know why they made it for rashes/skin infections, its meant to cure not prevent. another example is using paracetamol before immunization, why not wait to find out if your baby eventually runs temp then u administer pcm.......... pcm is a drug and we should mind how we give it. the drugs some of us use to prevent teething wahala eh meanwhile some babies don't even experience teething problems or would not have experienced. when i had my 1st doctor, i was told that teething powder is fine but some other drugs e.g piccan can cause stomach abi na intestine issues in future. i no dey spoil their mkt o. just my advise sha. i wish all our babies/kids good health always.
HealthRe: NEW BORN BABIES! Are U A New Mum? Then Lets Discuss Babies Here!!!!! by mitche15: 10:58pm On Sep 08, 2015
It isn't advisable to use Sudocreme daily...... My paed even stopped me from using it daily on my baby's bum, use when the rashes appear, stop when its gone, something about adverse effect, long English sha

I am going thru this at the moment sef, but there was progress today, (thank God cos I am resuming on monday). I had to change my bottle to tommie tippie and SMA gold to aptamil. Baboes are different so I can't state that this might work for u as well. Furthermore, I don't think introducing something new to baby should be done wen the baby is very hungry, that would just make the baby scream more.just try wen the baby is not to hungry and not full either. Goodluck.
euphorbia:
Ok,he woke up twice last night to suck.however,he has been crying cos he doesn't want to the formular.I ve tried both cup and bottle. He managed to take only 30mls around 1pm with serious cry (as I didn't breastfeed him), then I breastfed him after. Pls,mamas that ve gone tru this,do I change d formular(sma advance) embarassed

You are right, my daughter had it so much I was worried, she even had swollen adenoids too, I was frustrated till a kind nurse told me to try cod liver oil, worked wonders. I won't forget that nurse ever!!!
corrall:
U can be giving cod liver oil as well, it worked for my daughter when she had this persistent cough n catarrh, it is an immune booster
HealthRe: NEW BORN BABIES! Are U A New Mum? Then Lets Discuss Babies Here!!!!! by mitche15: 11:41pm On Aug 26, 2015
Babies change from time to time, I guess its the new pattern....... Does your baby always need to suck to go back to sleep? It may not be hunger u'know? I heard even teething can change a baby's sleep pattern even though its a too early in ur case. Your LO might just be seeking more attention from u. Whatever the case is, chest am my sister, it won't last forever.
euphorbia:
I just started formular for my baby(few days to 4 months) this night becos recently,he wakes me up about 5 times to suck.I started with 90ml but he drank only about 50mls and fell asleep.I hope he won't wake often to suck tonyt.

This happened to my daughter too, use a clean clothe to wipe it and put drops of BM into the eye. Works wonders my dear. But if it persists then see an optician.
KBARBIE:
Hi beautiful mamas in d house, please my 11 mnths prince charming eyes has been bringing out mucor like fluid whenever he wakes up. Pls what's d cause nd what can I use for him. Thx for the opinion coming.
HealthRe: NEW BORN BABIES! Are U A New Mum? Then Lets Discuss Babies Here!!!!! by mitche15: 6:31am On Aug 26, 2015
There's always a feeding chart/guide on the tin of the formula.start with small quantities and work ur way up cos your baby might not drink much @ 1st. As for sterilizing, I use cold water sterlizer, buy milton tablets and follow instructions written on it, you can also buy electric sterilizer if you wish. But why not consider introducing solids to your baby, I am guessing you will still be breastfeeding.
Mzora:
sabi mamas pls help out. my baby would soon be 6 months in a couple of days. how do I start her on formula?how many ml should I start with @ first. how should I care for her feeders? and any other tips I need.pls help out. #ftm
