For those complaining of eela or alefo, i have attached a picture of the kind of skin disease my baby had, what finally worked for us was mupiderm, thats the name of the ointment. The doc that prescribed it didn't give us oral antibiotics bacause we had taken before. We used mupiderm for 7 days and it was cleared well and hasn't re-surfaced so far. I hope i can be of help to somebody causr this eela thing isn't funny. N:B the doc said it was a bacterial infection so incase its a fungal infection i don't know if mupiderm will treat it oh Pls nobody should laugh at our breasty

HolySteph: Good day mamas. Let me rant.
Have had it up to my throat.. Am I the only one going through post partum depression? Why are in-laws so opinionated... Why?! Why?!! Things are not the same..not jealous but everyone that calls or comes around asks only about baby.. They be like "how's your baby?" , "how's baby doing?", " is baby sleeping?", "has the baby taken his bath?"(forgetting its just me doing everything. Mother couldn't stay bcus of her business, so I learnt what she taught and took from there. Sigh ),. In-laws comes around everyday bcus they live close by.. They comes to see if baby is bathed early and not late forgetting I'll need to sleep that morning bcus baby disturbs every night. So I used early mornings to sleep and get up like 8 to do chores and eat before bathing baby by 10am. But in-laws as always judgmental as they are would come earlier to see if I have and if I havnt they begin to judge their heads. Its not their fault. How can one get over such. Hubby goes to work early in the mornings of which I have to prepare his lunch for him before going back to bed. Can't continue, so much to talk..... I'm just wondering if am the only one? Any ways baby would be 3months soon and he'll be going to church this Sunday.. Thank God! Its been one hell of a three months.. From going through hot water section after delivery, heat, sleeping without fan and light bcus of baby...(I almost died.. If that's the definition of omugwo I'm never doing again). In all I Thank God for myself, my baby and hubby.
Besides all that, what is the effect of taking carbonated drinks as a breastfeeding mother to her baby? Hi Steph, being a new mom is quite overwhelming not just as a FTM but even for a 3rd time mom. There's so much to do and going through so much emotionally and physically. Do you think you can get help from maybe a sister or a friend(trusted friend). What you need is a few minutes to yourself. I have discovered that even 30mins of "me time" helps alot. As for your inlaws pls just ignore. Do things at your own pace, you are not superwoman. Try to create even if its 30mins to relax your head, just you by yourself. If you have no help, i suggest when your husband gets back, leave him with the baby for sometime, even if its a long warm shower. It helps calm the nerves. You cannot coman die oh. I don't even understand this our culture, inlaws that pop in anytime they like to check baby. Gaskiya i won't open door oh, i will form i did not hear, we were sleeping. I am not teaching you bad thing ooh |

derommyvent: May God help women with so much that we have to go through. I am so scared of family planning because of the side effects, I was thinking of having an implant but it seems I am changing my mind to IUD. Withdrawal method failed me and that's why I am a new mom. I will be getting it done nextweek by His grace. Please is there anyone that knows about Planned Parenthood Federation of Nigeria (PPFN), their location in Lagos and how they operate. Thanks in advance.
CC: mitche15 I used the one on Osolo way here, close to aswani mkt, they will conduct a blood pregnancy test and HIV test, thereafter you can have your procedure done. I spent like 30mins tops. Paid about 2500 in total. And its the only PPFN i know, as per its quite close to my house, i haven't really enquired about other locations |

olamitie: Its been awhile o,work and motherhood is really stressful.
Abeg my baby is 1year+2weeks now and still wakes up several times at night to breastfeed, please what can I give her at night because she doesn't accept cereal at that time
Secondly shsnt walking yet and I'm kind of worried, she conveniently moves around holding something but to stand on her own or waka she no fit, is it that she scared of something, I see younger kids walking For Q1, try tea. I use 123 peak and milo. Although my daughter got used to it and woke up at night till she was 2. For my 2nd daughter, she stopped waking up at night to feed from 4m.(this one i didn't do ebf) so i guess the formula was filling. Cheers |

perfectcrown: Hello mamas.
I'm sorry to derail the purpose of this thread.
Pls can someone give me tips about the IUD/IUC Contraceptive?
The Jadelle i got is giving me serious cramps,waist/back ache & spotting for the past 2weeks!
Went to the hospital today and when i told my Gyea/Doc about it,he said i should still watch it for a little while more and that "it will even make me fat"(don't know how true this is).
I'm thinking of switching to the IUD.
The Jadelle's discomfort is too much!
Please,don't read and pass mas.
Thanks in anticipation Same boat with you sis. I have been spotting for over 2 weeks on and off. When i enter sun, that spot on my arm gets itchy, (no infection), i even developed infection (i think) its totally related cause my neighbour is experiencing thesame symptom. The wahala is plenty, i went back to remove it and put IUD instead but i was asked to give it time. The explanation was, its a foreign object that has been placed and once our bodies get used to it, symptoms will normalise. So i was given like a month to come if all is not well, especially the spotting best believe i'm taking it out. |

suremum: I rememeber my MIL bathing my baby and held him with one leg and turned him upside down. That was the first and last time she bath him because i told her immediately that it is wrong. When she insisted on my baby using teething powder too, i insisted that he wont use it. ( i am not saying those that use it did not do right) but i just did not want to do anything the paedetricians do not recommend. When my baby had eela too and she brought herb saying he will drink some. I told her my baby wont drink it. She knows me well, i stand my ground when it comes to this kind of things. May we not bury our children. Amen Abeg, what finally cured this eela. We've done antibiotics, red leaf, everything!!!! its still coming out |

After 2 kids who would think you will still be a Learner with your 3rd. Mamas oh, Rashes want to show me something. When my DS started having rashes, we went to the doc, he gave us anti-biotics and a cream to rub on it. Sharply the rashes cleared. But re-surfaced. That's how my neighbour started telling me about ela and leaf, i was just What is this one saying? (In my ajebo mind). Went back to the doctor, changed the cream, rash cleared within 2 days, see me telling my neighbour"you people can be local eh, wetin be ela" i was even laughing when she was like the ela can even scrap off a baby's hair. Ahhhh next day i woke up, the evil rash was back , i have dropped my oyinbo fake accent and gone to beg my neighbour to biko show me the leaf sharp sharp, next thing she said i will drink the water from the leaf kuma Wetin person no go see? |
