Now I'm scared, the general hospital here said you have to pass through a general practitioner first who will first access the situation and determine if a specialist will see you, he thought me how to touch some parts of the ear for pains and so far baby girl has been good, but for a second and more professional assessment we will visit a private hospital in ikeja tomorrow.. I pray everything is fine if not my husband will put all the blame on me for loving my work more than my children... thank you very very much
She is Okay by God's grace. As for the blame part, abeg Ignore, if you don't work you will be tagged useless. Do the best you can as a parent because even the children of housewives are sometimes involved in home accidents.

The doctors are often overbooked that's why. It's not just a Nigerian thing. Specialists are often overbooked in public hospitals which makes it really difficult to see them. I've found that the key is to exaggerate your pain cheesy
cheesy cheesy cheesy very wise move, next time i want to see a specialist in govt hosp. na to dey shout plus wail cheesy cheesy cheesy

Thanks to those that responded and adviced me, we went to the general hospital and we saw a general practitioner (they said it is their rule) who examined her and concluded she is fine, he said we shld give it another 24 hrs and watch for pain but so far my baby has been her bubbling self and no signs of pain atall. Thanks once more
I just saw this, thank God she is OK. I do not mean to scare you but pls to cross all yout t's, visit an ENT proff at a private hospital but if your mind is at rest, let it be. I had a nasty experience with my own ear that only God saved me, something the ENT took care of in 5mins. I visited a general doc in govt hosp for a week, they were just doing me trial and error, I decided to visit the specialist hospital (govt owned too), i didn't even know there was something like ENT till they showed me ENT unit. My dear, after narrating my long 1 week ear wahala, the man kept asking why i was seeing a general doc who had no idea nor the tools to look into my ear. they flushed out my ear in a matter of minutes and i felt so much relief after that.
Since then... so my sister, Your baby is too small to talk about her feelings or how well she can hear or if sounds are echoing etc. I am sure its not only pain the ENT will look out for. Again, I am not being NEGATIVE, just see someone who takes care of the ear to make sure your baby is OK.

I am so pained by the way some govt hospitals operate, its not like its a big deal if you see an ENT, afterall its your money. A woman who just recently opened a tailoring ready to wear shop in my area, she was pregnant, they said she had tummy ache and went to the hospital (govt) to complain, those people sent her back home that it was normal, no scan, no heartbeat check, nothing!!! This woman died, that was when they discovered that her baby had been dead. I am so pained, i pass by her shop for a week now and my mood changes. May God help us

to me, I don't see any seriousness in what your SIL said. just a normal talk as to see how those clothes will fit her little niece and appreciating those dresses on her. Everything shouldn't be taken as an offence.

I remembered when my SIL used to ask me if my baby has gotten some teeth, that she can't wait to see him smiling with those teeth. Its just normal.
You are right sis, sometimes its cause we are going through stuff that we get offended by things that shouldn't offend us. she already is feeling some type of way cause her baby isn't walking yet and statement made her think otherwise. las las na wetin dey her mind.

My 5 month old had a healthy appetite when younger and was chubby. but since he became 4 months, I introduced formula due to milk supply decline. His milk intake is reduced to 120ml max and 60ml at daycare during a feed, if you try to give him more, he would just pout and play with the nipple. This is a baby that takes 5-6 oz previously (breast milk with a bottle) I am worried that he is not taking as much as he should and is not gaining weight as much.
Is it a formula brand issue? or he just does not like to suck as much. Formula brand is Enfamil. Meanwhile, when I gave him fruit puree up to 4 oz with a spoon, he finishes it.

PS: I have made ogi (from scratch, proud of myself) so would start him on that from next week.

Please help sad
noticed that my DS doesn't drink alot of formula at a go, he will take 2 oz and at most 3, so i stumbled across what a mama said here, @zaynie thanks. I introduced lesser amounts at a time and more feeds. I also tried something else, if i make like 7 oz or 8oz, i usually pause and burp him during feeds, like taking a 1 minute break then continue, that works too. overall it may also be his appetite, sometimes appetite decreases and then comes back, maybe you should just watch it for a while and if you are still breastfeeding just breastfeed more to make up. I doubt its the brand of formula cause he has been taking it before na.

Lots of parents use it, I tried it once my baby hit 1 and she didn't like it, neither did I (unlike formula that I could console myself and chew dry when she rejects) so we just started giving her the normal peak we use at home. For someone that rejected all different formula and even peak 123, she doesn't even seem to notice the taste of the adult peak in her food no matter how much you load it so thats why we went with that
Oh Okay. i'll just continue with it then because i am even doing oversabi and using 456 for my 5 year old as well. cheesy cheesy cheesy @chewing formula dry, that's why i don't buy cerelac the agbaya in me will finish it.

abeg no vex, am i the only one that does peak 123 instead of the adult one, am i scamming myself as in.... is it necessary or i should just move straight to adult milk.

Please my 11 weeks old daughter just won't take formulae she wants only breast milk, I was advised here to get other types and which I did but after first trial she won't take it again.
I'm so bothered right now cos I'm resuming work next week Monday. Been having issues with mil cos she wants us to force-feed her which I feel the baby might get used to and in turn cause problem when they start crèche.
Her twin bro takes between 75-100 mls which my daughter struggles with 25mls. Please what can I do about this
You can also try changing bottles cause some teats are more comfy than others.

Thanks, have tried covering the socket, he goes back to the place, but I will try other method. Thanks a lot, at least I know I have to stop beating him.. I give him tea at night but will I have to give him milk any time he wants to sleep undecided? How long will I have to do that for him to learn how to sleep on his own?
Lol, with my 1st daughter i did till she was 2, when she got to a year, she would wake up thrice for tea at night, when she started school at a year 6 months, we moved to just once. At age 2 she started sleeping through the night. But my 2nd slept through the night by 3 months, i figured God pitied me cause i had really paid my dues with the 1st. I would always tell myself when i'm frustrated, this phase must pass and surely it has passed

Hello mama's, how has ur day been? Hope we all enjoyed our easter grin
Can't believe I missed the advert day, I hope I won't miss it next time or can I still advertise my services too embarassed never knew there is a particular day for advertising products and services here anyway...

Abeg I need help, sabi mama's help me
My son is a yr n 3months, since we stopped breastfeeding to sleep has been war, he cries, twist, turns, scratch h head like "mummy, help me I want to play n sleep is disturbing me" I will have to back n pet, walk around with him turning n twisting at my back, pls what can I do? Am tired, it's soo annoying expecially when we are in church embarassed

Secondly, the lil guy too play, he doesn't play with his toys well except his walker, he climbs into it by himself and carry it around since he is taller than it. If I fold it he cries till I bring it out, though it helps me shaa cos whenever he is in the Walker I get to rest small from don't touch it! Don't do dis and don't do that undecided, the other things he plays with my phone, the stabiliser, he un plug n plug socket n I do beat him just with 2 fingers oo whenever he does that but he still repeats it and sometimes I feel quilt after beating him, pls, am I doing the right thing ? Is he still young to be corrected that way? What can I do to make him stop undecided
You can try securing the area where the stab plug is. He may be too young to understand why you are beating him. Electricity is dangerous so i suggest you maybe use something to shield the socket. With time he will understand he isn't supposed to go there.

As for the first, i replaced milk with tea, so at the time it still gave thesame effect as milk. My baby slept just fine. You can try that.
