The application was for my mom, i actually sent her an invitation to come visit me, she did paper submission at abuja and it took alittle more than 2 months to hear back from the embassy. Anyways she got her passport back yesterday and behold she got the visa. i'm beyond happy, and to answer your question she applied April 3rd and we received the dispatched email on June 6th. Goodluck to everyone on their application. The Lord is in control.

i have a quick question, my mom submitted her application for visitor's visa (paper route, abuja)more than 6 weeks ago, and i was wondering how long it takes to hear back from cic after submittion, because she was told by one of the staffs there that it takes 6 weeks, but the application is more than 6 weeks now. i'm a little bit worry for her. thanks for your reply.

And why u are at it, submit ur personal SOA. Cos even as a co - director u r expected to b paid monthly or from wat ever profit the company gets. The company account is not yours.

Yes u can change ur course. I changed my course 3 times n I was still granted. N I didn't even try explaining the reason for course changing. Treat your new app like it's fresh. don't try explaining past app in your new app(if dat make anysense). If canada is ur dream keep trying until u get it. Good luck.

Sponsors are my parents and I'm 23.

nice post bt I disagree with the part of mailing them,you have the write to know about your application when u haven't gotten a reply in the due time.you can even mail them to remind them of your resumption date.it's not a crime.

Ofcus I know that. Am not saying it's a crime. It's just a personal assumption. It's has happened to me n some other pple I know. So u see Anytime I hear of reminder mail I just become scared for dat person. Visa Don use my eyes see yeye maybe dats y am assuming too much. But anywaz sha I know he @berexio1 ll get it the 2nd time. He is intelligent n dats sometin dat doesn't hid. So the next vo dat ll handle his app will see that too.

The rest of u guys waiting for medicals this is the time to triple ur prayers oo infact don't sleep tonite pray until heaven open for ur sake. Cos as you can see those VOs head dey shake, tell God to correct their head wen they get to ur application. Lol am talking too much now. Goodnite guys n God bless.

After vexing and mailing CIC yesterday. They decided to respond to me with an email this evening.

So , I logged on to CIC and found out I av been delayed. Their Reasons below:

Purpose of visit-Their papa.I have a B.Eng Petroleum going for Masters Chemical.Work experience:Process engineer

Travel History- First time is not a crime

Financial and Personal asset- I showed over 800k in my account bt sponsors have a total of 14m.

Please no pity party. I haven't lost anyone. Will def re-apply by Sept when I push my start date to January..

Don't mind those vo. I always tell people dat some of these VOs na enemy of progress. Anyways it's obvious it has nothing to do with ur employment or sponsor. Maybe they are not convinced of ur intentions or maybe it's cos you emailed them, so they just rush thru ur documents to get it over it without checking important documents or even reading ur sop. I have notice in most cases if u send them that reminder mail they assume u r too desperate n it's instant denial. Same tin happen to me wen I applied for UK tourist visa. I was over anxious n i emailed them, immediately they replied that they've not yet process it n ll let me know wen they do, like 5 hours later I got their rejection mail. All am trying to say is reapply, write a great sop infact 3pages is allow then just let it be especially wen u have 1 - 2months to resumption. I know u don't want any pity party but I'm feeling bad. U r suppose to be my tavellin companion na. Now I hv to start looking for Some1 else *sadface*.

I just got my medical mail after almost 8 weeks!
My application was simple but had complex elements. I just put it all in God's hands!

Glory be to God. Got my study visa approve 2day. Will b collecting my documents n pp nxt week. I want to say thanks to every person dat has helped me one way or d other. To all those dat were delayed, don't ever give up I was in ur shoes last year but see me now am rejoicing. I can't even expressed my joy but my heart is filled. N to those awaiting medicals keep on praying it's never too late. Pray, fast n make a vow n see if God will not answer. Those awaiting TRV, u r there already. Wishing every1 d very Best. Nope. US n Canada r two diff country so they won't refuse u visa cos of that.

U don't have to explain the new PGD or even make reference to ur last application in ur SOP. U have a new acceptance letter from a diff school just start from there.
I think the main tin is try n write a more convincing sop. Also if u r submitting employment letter n payslips then a salary account or personal account showing your income must be submitted too. cos most of these vo don't believe in collecting salary by hand n even if r u pay dat way then give urself 4-5months n tell your company to start paying into ur account no matter how little d money be4 u can reapply. It's even better to take dat long for reapplication wen u r delay on those 4 reasons.

The past two application was actually delayed for same reason which r length of purposed stay, purpose of visit, limited employment prospect in my country, financial n personal asset, current employment situation. The 1st time my sop was very poor n I didn't submit any employment doc. The second time sop was okay but still didn't submit employment letter although I submitted payslips n leave letter n also as an assistant I was going for project management which wasn't related to my UG or my current job. But this time around had to submit all employment docs, changed my course to sometin similar to my UG course n even got a future employment letter from another firm that is relating to my course. Mind u my sop dis time was very complicated cos I was confuse on how to explain me changing course in all my applications, I actually wrote a 4 page sop (yah it was dat long n looks like a child crying for help lol) anywaz with the help of fellow nairalander I was able to shorten to 3 pages which is still much but i had no choice.

Documents(personal):
All cic documents
Waec result, transcript, success letter from uni, Nysc cert, admission letter, fee receipt (paid half), work Id, employment letter, payslips (5months), letter of introduction from work, police report, SOA (1+million), Birth Certificate, SOP (3pages) and lastly offer of probationary appointment letter from DBS.
note: this is my third application n each time I change my course of study(I was very scared abt dis) n again I work presently as a personal assistant which is way different from wat I did in my UG so this where the probationary employment letter from DBS (delta broadcasting service ) comes in cos I read broadcasting in school n am going for tv broadcasting too.
sponsor doc(my mother):
Soa (above 20m), treasury bill, Landed properties doc, business docs, int password, bank reference letter, tax clearance, rent receipt, motorised affidavit of support, birth certificate, sponsorship letter, siblings birth certs, dad's driver's license, consent letter from dad.
PS: although am 20+ I still went ahead with the consent letter cos my mom n I have different surname so the consent letter was just to show dat my dad who have same name with me is aware of my plans to travel n he is in support even thou he is not the sponsor.

OMG! guys I just got my medical call 5mins ago. Whoever said there is no God that person should have a rethink. This is my third application although my sop/ application wasn't perfect I still went ahead to pray for God's effortless grace n he came through for me.
God is great guys. U can't get your visa without his grace especially if u've bin delayed before.
N I want to say a very big thank u to Obinna I can't remb his name on nairaland but I meet him here, God sent him as my helper. N also@berexio1 thanks for bin the wonderful human u r and for all your help am highly grateful, urs is on its way. N to @Grecee thanks for posting ur friend's testimony yesterday I was really inspired by it I even wrote down the scripture n paste it on my door. Thanks nairalander u guys r awesome. God bless.

My friend has been denied 4 times, always re- applying since May 2014 and never gave up until this fifth (5) application
He applied on line 3rd May 2015 and did biometrics on the 4th 2015. upfront medicals
going for pg in ontario.
He called me this morning and read a Psalm for me (Psalm 34 vs 18) "the Lord is near to those who are discouraged; He saves those who have lost all hope.
He told me that he doesnt not have any strengthanymore but he can only hold on to this verse.
Later this night he called me and was crying that he got passport request on his cic account

The Lord is Gracious to those who abide in him.
