Yeah, itz been long I came to dz section, I graduated this year from Computer Science Department, freshers coming in will enjoy a lot of things we've laid down 4 them such as the exhibition competition, training, etc, in fact I'll b takn a one week training course 4 d freshers after my convocation on web development, creating bb, android, apple app for d web app, etc. Don't worry when u come around, you will have fun coding, if u want to find me on nairaland then you have to come to the programming section. Adobe is pulling its Flash Player plug-in from
Android's Google Play store.
It follows a decision to halt development of the
software for mobile devices.
The plug-in allows multimedia content created using
the Flash format to be viewed via a web browser.
Adobe will continue to develop the player for PCs. It
will also support Air - a tool which lets developers
turn web-based applications using Flash into
standalone mobile apps.
The Flash Player had been popular on Google Play -
with two-thirds of users giving it a top score.
But Adobe said it was removing the option to install
the plug-in because it was likely to exhibit
"unpredictable behaviour" when used with the latest
version of Android, known as Jelly Bean.
It also suggested that smartphone owners who had
upgraded to the latest system should uninstall the
Flash Player if it was already on their device.
Although Adobe is no longer actively developing the
player for Android, Blackberry or Symbian devices -
and never released it for Apple iOS or Windows
Phone handsets - it has said it would continue to
offer security updates and bug fixes for existing
versions until September 2013.

Where was I all this while, I've been seeing this thread but never bothered to read it, probably because I don't do 2 much of Java stuffs but I wrk with JSP, I use JSP for my final year project oooo. At this point you guys have really gone far, probably I'll start working on the how to consume the web service in php or asp.net, I mean warming up. I'm proud of you all, I love the template design Xterra2, Javanian well done ma.

As you can see the article was written more than 8 years ago. Looking at number 7, it talks about stored procedure, microsoft sql server supports stored procedure, which iv used and still using with my c#. I don't really like comparing programming languages, mine is what can you do with the programming language you know? I look at the project I want to do and see which programming language best suit it. In fact I use Java JSP for my final year project while in school, because the Library I needed to run my project was written in Java. The type of project I want to do determines my programming language, if python will suit my project then I'll use it. #shikena

Yeah, hopefully our government will look into but I'm not counting on those bunch of f***s in the national assembly to do that. My advice for new beginners is that web programming pays more than desktop, but itz ur choice at the end, I do both though but 9/10 of the jobs I get are web based...#shikena.

Ur a good marketer, dnt mind calling u up on other issues. But here in Nairaland we offer help to people, myself have gotten enough stuffs from dhtml, kobojunkie, jst to mention a few all free, in fact I met dhtml myself, configured my system for me all free that's about 4yrs ago, kobojunkie went to d extend of helping me debug codes etc on my fina year project, so pls find a way to help pple dt might contact you and dnt have any penny to pay. The best things in life are free.

What sql platform? Are u talking about mssql, mysql or which? Which OS are you using? And what error are you getting? You need to let us know all dz before we can render help.

people love to see what you have done, they want to be sure you are capable of handling their project, sometimes you have to design a prototype for them. read more on software projects management, and also software development life cycle (SDLC), you must be capable of delivery the job on the stated time, etc.

yeah, thats tru, i completely forgot about cloud computing, I believe we will have to get there, yeah bandwidth issue, i guess we will need a way out. I attended a microsoft conference at University Of Ibadan, I really saw some great stuffs there really, showing how cloud computing works, I'v not really gone into that, hoping a project will take me there soon. thanks.

to be sincere, I do more of web apps because 80% of the jobs i get are web application, what im doing right now is to develop myself to be good in other web apps development languages other than the ones I use, I believe a time will come when we will start to run netbeans, visual studio, eclipse online. so with ipad, smartphones, one can write code online, debug, etc. start using Microsoft packages such as word, excel, PowerPoint,etc, online. so you dont need to get all this app installed on your system any longer. i was amazed when I saw a web app where you can create images, edit, etc works like fireworks. my personal opinion is that web app is the future.

At least for now, you can start coding with your mini, but you might need to replace it later, I love coding with desktop pc with windows xp on it or linux, they are very fast. All the best.

Sql is a language used to query database systems such as mssql, mysql, oracle, etc, .net is a microsoft framework used wit its development language such as C#, VB.NET, F#. So depends on what you want to do, ur post topic is even funny. But if you were to learn a .net programming language you will be taught on how to interact with database with it. Enjoy.

Computer is becoming part of us, we have the smartfones, Ipad, etc, on the go with us. I believe with the current trend, there is a great future for web developers.

As for me, some programmers in nigeria are doing great, everything comes down to the skills of d individual. I did my siwes then at SystemSpecs, we have wonderful programmers there and they have the best of softwares there, HumanManager, Remita, and also did another siwes at NITDA, government agencies use nigeria made softwares. So I believe if u can come up wit a solution that can help any industry in Nigeria, you will be welcome, I'm working on a vertical software presently, I believe when I'm thru, d industry I targeted will love it, I have clients waiting for it, I have a beta version of it already. Give yourself a challenge.

Pls which school in europe ar u schooling? I'm lookin for a school in europe where I can do masters in software engineering. Studying SE is good, u jst need to ensure u have enough individual skills added to ur degree, for me ur skills fetch u jobs. I'm bin doing jobs since when I was in my first year till now.
