Thanks so much for your response. I appreciate. The husband is the primary applicant. Talking about POF, please how much should we be looking at as the funding doesn't cover my wife and 3 kids? Am just concerned about the VO talking about no home ties since we are applying together? what is your thought about this? What can we say to convince them if it gets to that please? Thank you fairheart: |
Thank you so much for this. Am still waiting for response. quote author=psychologyshuby post=99303219]Please stop posting false information. As at last night there were still dates available for June.
|
Please all NL am new here and i need your candid advice, I need to know if a married person going for study with a fully funded PhD scholarship(full tuition waiver + research assistantsip stipends) can be given visa to go with the spouse and kids together? Do we need to show proof of funds(POF) for the family? How much for a family of 5(parents and 3 kids)?how long should it be in the person's account before the application? or is it better for the person to go alone first while the dependants(spouse and kids) joins later? Like how many months later please? And its POF also applicable in this instance as well? Thank you all. |

Don Oms: Return ticket is not compulsory as it is your choice. Though it is often relatively expensive, one-way is better if you're not sure about return date.Good day all nairalanders, I have checked wakanow.com but the cheapest I can see is Lufthansa for 156,179 and I still feel this is still high but my confusion is now this, am afraid of it increasing as the time of my travel approaches. I intend travelling on either 24/25 of Jan. Should I still hold on and keep observing the prices if I can get something cheaper or should I go ahead and book. If I need to hold on more, for how long? Thank you. |
Thank you so much. I appreciate. I will do that. Don Oms: Return ticket is not compulsory as it is your choice. Though it is often relatively expensive, one-way is better if you're not sure about return date. As for choice of flight, there are options which include duration of flight and stops. My best advice is for you to go to an agency site like wakanow and type your flight details. Once you have the search results, take a note of them and male a choice. Then go to the website of the airline you picked and book the flight. You can also search for both return and one-way and compare prices. Congrats on your visa. mjan: Thank you so much. I appreciate. hi vo, a friend of mine introduced me to this site and i find it very interesting especially since i saw this thread, my story Goes like this i am married to an american citizen who is in the US Army, we got married in 2011 and few months after our wedding which took place here in Nigeria he was deployed to Afghanistan for one year military tour and we decided not to go ahead with filing for my immigration visa till he returns from his trip and he returned last year august from Afghanistan and has traveled back twice to visit me here in Nigeria and he filed for my i-30 in July and we got a receipt notice in August and filed the i-129f immediately and also go the receipt notice in September, now my question is as a military spouse how long do u think it will take before i get an approval for my i-129f ( i mean both processing time n getting my visa) or is it going to go through the normal process cos the USCIS website says 5months, please i will really like to know. thanks. |
Ok that was a good one there. Thank you for sharing your experience with me. Don Oms: Which funds in particular? Different people have different views about accessing their money in the UK and you can choose any option. |

Please what are the charges involved in this whole process you used. Do you intend continuing with this account after you have travelled. royalsweetness: I opened a gtb domiciliary account (pounds), then I changed my fees to pounds, paid it into the dom account, then filled out a form with the school account details, that the bank used to transfer the money. An annoying long protocol if you ask me, but atleast its safe. I'm still hoping to find an easier but safe method. |
Good day, I tried making more inquiries concerning how to get my funds along with me and a banker was advising me to open a domiciliary account and acquire a debit card in which they will only charge me for the card but if I go ahead with my normal master card ATM that they would be more charges and that I would be limited to some international transactions from Nigeria to UK or vice versa. Please I need more advise from people that have the experience already. Thank you. |
adamasjosef has advised you rightly I came in with £1500 and 2 different Nigerian bank cards [Mastercard and Visa so that if one fumbles, the other should work] and both work well here Only that I withdraw the max amount to minimize bank charges [around £550-560 = 150k daily limit based on current exchange rate now] and deposit in my account here Also I don't withdraw on the VERY day I need it because Nigerian network wahala might mess you up ![]() That apart, if you can pay up ALL your tuition before applying helps cos it indicates to the visa officials you are really serious about coming to study Also do know that carrying above $10,000 raises money laundering red flags over you, cards are mostly what this white folks use unlike we Naija peeps Have you also thought of what will happen if that money gets stolen or missing while you are still sorting out accommodation without which you will not be able to open an account over here? ![]() Wish you the best[/qu Good day, I tried making more inquiries concerning how to get my funds along with me and a banker was advising me to open a domiciliary account and acquire a debit card in which they will only charge me for the card but if I go ahead with my normal master card ATM that they would be more charges and that I would be limited to some international transactions from Nigeria to UK or vice versa. mjan: God bless your for your quick response. I have done that.Thank you. I did as you advised and i submitted my application on the 4th and was called up for pick up on 13th making it 7 working days. I was giving a UK student visa to the glory of God. Please my question to all forum members now is to know how to get a cheap flight, how much it can go for and IF I MUST BOOK A RETURN TICKET because I want to book one way? If I must book round trip how long will it take to expire?how do I go about shifting it?and how much that cost as am not certain about when I would come back next year but will definitely do for something very important. I await your responses. THANK YOU. |
When will the party be televised?which station?and what time? |
Good day all, Please I have been thinking of what to do with my remaining school fees in my account and maintenance fee. Do I have to open a domicile account though I prefer changing it in my bank (GTB) and taking it cash as am travelling since I intend paying the remaining part of my school fees immediately I get there to earn myself some percentage of the school fees which is 100k+. Please those with previous experience should kindly advise me on the best thing to do. Thank you. = |
mayo47: You can put your sister address, i did it during my application and still got my visa. I think they want to be sure you have a place to yourself upon arriving the UK as you can still move away and get yourself some other accommodation. As per booking of flight its not necessary my dear, applied twice to the UKBA without doing that and was granted visa (second was last month).God bless your for your quick response. I have done that. |
miz Gene: I believe u can use ur sis' address, but u must still make sure u have the amount needed for your upkeep in ur account. you dont have to book ur flight before applying, just put any convenient date there..Thank you for your advise .I appreciate alot. |
Good day Justwise and other forum members. I need your advise. I wanted to fill a UK student visa application form online yesterday but realized that there is a particular place I had to put the ADDRESS of where I will be leaving. I intend staying with my elder sister who stays very close to the school but my sister's rent is being paid by the government since she is not working at the moment. Should I put my sisters address in that place? would putting it affect my chances of getting the visa? Secondly, the issue of itinerary(flight) asked to be booked before filling the form.would the money be subtracted from the money in my account and then weigh if the remaining would be enough for my school fees and maintenance? Please I need your urgent response as this is the only thing holding me from not making my online form. |
