They have their training venue at Afribank house Matori Lagos, I dont know if the have kicked off their. They have an office at Ikeja, close to the bridge at Oba Akran.

First full sport channels has been added SETANTA AFRICA. There is this (channel ten, not NTA) they are presently showing the Barca/Inter match. And our own local channel galaxy is showing the match on star tv.

You'll need a sender for that. It does not cost much either. 1.5k to3k depending on where you buy it and also the make.

Really? you mean it is that cheap? can we get @ oshodi/Alaba? are there specifications and brand names? Do you have one and are you sure of the price? if it is that cheap I think it might be the best way of getting signals to several tvs or is it limited in capacity? Please anyone in the house help uise confirm from the market.

@shola and all, the conversion of scart to rf is simple and can be very cheap. With N500 u a done.

I think I will also chk out the scart to rf, makes an interesting experiment for looping some of these receivers.

Anyone know how we can wirelessly transmit these signals to other tv in the house? What is the cheapest equipment we can use?

Incidentally there are two ways to it. With a minimum of 1.8 dish you can get it on Eutelsat w2, the gurus can tell you the tp/sr as I dont have that handy ( or you got to lyngsat for that) Secondly you can get it without a dish by getting the startimes  terrestrial receiver. It gives you access to all the channels and many local ones. It is presently free, but whn they start subscription, it will be as low as 1000 naira. The receiver is between 9000 and 10000, depending on where you buy it, no dish, no installation, just plug and play

Sir, there are very cheap Scart to AV out there, you may not bother about Scart to RF (if it is prohibitive) but I am sure there are Scart to AV @ very moderate prices shld be less than 200naira, I know because I have it, it could be easily gottn @ Alaba or even Oshodi. I hope it works for you.

Well, I am definite that they are set to have a total coverage of the nation, but I am not privy to the time table. May be their staff/marketer can tell us here. Presently they cover Lagos and Abuja.

i have tried the rf loop out, it did not work, i think the loop out is for extending the antena to other tv or decoder, please experiment and let me know how it goes.

What about the Scart connector ( evn if you dont have a digital tv, it can be manually connected to gv u both audio and video on other tvs, except it has bn disabled, unfortunately am not keen on trying (I got separate receivers for the available rooms) but ill see wht i can do

Am actually watching the popular etv on it ( the star tv) right now.

Yea it should be able to do several tvs, its got the AV connector (the main connector) the RF connector (can be used for several tv using rf multi connector and it also has the Scart connector for digital tvs, without doubt it can do several tvs- though u may only watch one channel at a time, except by other means that i dont know yet (cos they are going to marry the cards wif the receivers, soo things like smart- wi (card sharing facilities) may not work wif it, but who knows? Never say never.

hello evry1 i looked at the back of the star tv box and i couldn't find a place to link the box to more than 1 tv. does anyone no how 2 go about this?

My man, evn though a've nevr bothered to connect the star receiver to 2 tvs at a time, i believe it is perfectly possible to do so. In addition to the av connector it has rf connector loop out, and it also has the scart connector all this can be used to connect to other tvs. The rf loop out alone can be connected to several tvs all u need is the multi rf connector that is sold for less than 50naira.

In fact they are looking to bring some hitv channels onboard, if they will agree.

U can trust the chinko people, I heard they make it available to the chinese community around here. They may try bring it through the back door, it is presently listed as 'ch for hotel' they shld have removed it if they don't want to air it at all.

Guys I maintain three 90cm dishes for lack of space for 1.8m, Presently I am adding startv (terrestrial tv that produces 40  channels with low subscription.) My problem now is that I want to reduce the number of dishes I maintain at my abode, of cos atrsa 2b stays, my prob is between sirius 4 and w3a. If you have to advise me which one shld i let go? my pref is w3a, but with channels like vox africa, canal 2/3,free2view, stv and the various feeds, what will you advise I hold on to and which one shld i let go. House gurus your advice is needed, thnks.

So as it is now it has been blocked, and it is not showing on their receivers. Those of you who have it on w2a may be receiving it though. In fact they change the name of the channel to HOTEL CHANNEL or something related, indicating that they may only make it available for hotels or so, but the government has stepped in and banned it from homes. Thats the last i heard, but am sure its not the final, if I know chinese coy very well, it may even be their midas touch in this whole thing.
