My question is How do you research domain names using crunchbase...i was really amazed by your sale of vecna // xyz considering it’s a five character long name which is rare to find. I’m sure you wouldn’t want to divulge your whole secret considering it’s your first sale in Domaining, but if you could point me in the right direction of procedures you use in finding decent domain names on crunchbase, I’ll really appreciate it.

PS: I’ve tried navigating the crunchbase interface and watched YouTube videos on how to use crunchbase, but none really gave me what i wanted so please, I’ll appreciate your help. Thank you!

I wasn't discussing with any enduser or something. It just came naturally.

I picked this name from C r u n c h b a s e whilst researching for short .XYZ names free of trademarks and registered it.

I was satisfied with the Domain Authority (DA), Spam score (SS) and other metrics I look at before picking a name.

Did an outbound to my potential enduser but got no reply. Did outbounds on F a c e b o o k and T e l e g r a m domain sales groups, some reacted like the name was trash.

Oh well, that's to you . An enduser determines the worth of my domain so wetin una think na for una pocket .

Checked my mail Friday night and saw the congratulatory message from Dan.
The joy that mail contains is something else.

I pushed the domain to Dan's holding account at P o r k b u n and waited for them to acknowledge the push this morning.

Recently, I found out the d names selling on my portfolio are the ones that have/had never been outbounded wen I picked them.

One of the bosses here actually gave this tip about picking names that have never been outbounded before. And I think he's right.

Although, I have dropped names that I later found out they sold.

I'll advise newbies to stick more to this rule.

He should also check his price factor.

There are many service domains that i cannot venture into now.

Dentist domains are not high demand service domains, that are of high demand. And when venturing into Dentist Domains, he should also check the type of dentist domain, like you mentioned. Implant are good and pediatric dentist are also sellable, i think i gave out one for $100 with just 24hours hold time.


So he should learn and study more....


Let me drop this here especially for the newbies, if you want instant sales avoid some niche or services especially flower domains or florist. I sold many pre covid and covid, but now demand is poor....
And is seems they have an association, website looks same, and their mails are sometimes difficult to get.

Sir, there are many factors i consider before i price my name.

1) Service being offered: what kind of service is my prospective buyer offering, and what's the basic cost for such service. Eg Photography, i price between 250 - 350. Because the industry is yet to bounce back from covid.

2) Demand: The demand for the service offered, if the demand is high, I price high but if demand is low i price low.

3) Competitive: if the service being offered is a competitive one, i price high, but if its not i price low. I want to use photography to elaborate more on this, Wedding photography is more of high demand than Boudoir and Senior Photography.



These and many more and things i consider in pricing.

You know, sometimes when i see the brandable guys, make four figure sales with Brandables. I just wish, and be happy for them. I never knew GOD had my own plan, of breaking my four figure with a geo domain.

For example this year i had my first $xxxx sale, and it can from a geo domain. Yes a city in Texas Domain name, i priced it four figures yes and the buyer just sent an offer removing just $500bucks, and payed the $2000 immediately.

Holdtime was 24 hours.

So know how to price your name, and Believe in your name. No rush life, Don't belittle yourself and Pray for GRACE.

Tips: If you are outbounding a Florida city Law niche domain(any Florida city)
If you enter an enduser website just type at the front true of the url “Florida Bar” and search it will show the email of the main attorney of that law firm.
For example if I am outbounding to “newbielaw.com” I will just type in
“Florida Bar NewbieLaw.com” and it will show you the main attorney of the law firm.
