Here's my opinon, I HIGHLY doubt you and your kids will be comfortable in a 6-bed hostel. Are they even aware of your kids? because that's 3 beds occupied which may mean more work for you. but let's assume you go ahead with it. Imagine working 3 hours a day, shuffling with 2 kids and uni work as a new commer? that will be a nightmare. Moreover, you cannot use such housing to apply for your personal number. And the earlier you get your PN, the better because that's when your time in Sweden starts counting. So I advise you to keep searching for housing. Look on Facebook rental groups too, but beware of scams. Do not pay any holding deposit except you have someone in Sweden to view the place and verify its authenticity. Bringing your kids or not doesn't matter. If you can bring them if you want to, or leave them with their father/close relative in Nigeria while you settle. That decision is up to you, based on your capability to handle stress. Lastly, if you decide to go ahead with the hostel accommodation, make sure to get a contract and read the conditions thoroughly to know your rights/risks. You don't want a situation where you are kicked out for unforeseen reasons and you are stranded. goodluck. HeyHey: Thank you very much Yes, na job, and the payment is the accommodation.
What skills are in demand?, also, can you advise me on bringing children (2kids). |

Tbh, I see waiting list as a friendly way of telling you to move on. No doubt, some people are later on considered but don’t put all your hopes on it. Perhaps wait until SI result is out and maybe more people will drop, then you can get a higher chance of getting in. Goodluck Leleky: I applied for admission in the first round application process and I was admitted to my third priority choice while I have been placed in the waiting list for my first priority choice. From the admission selection results 15 persons were admitted for the course while I'm no. 3 on the waiting list. My worry is that the number of people admitted has reduced to 13 but I am still no.3 on the waiting list. Please, why is my number on the waiting list not changing? Does it me I have to decline my first admission before my number on reserve the list will change? |

Good Morning, Have you taken out time to read through https://www.migrationsverket.se? If you haven't, please do. If you still don't find the answer to your question, you can ask again. This also applies to other people, please read https://www.migrationsverket.se and familiarise yourself with the requirements for the study permit. Repeating stuff (you can easily find online) multiple times is a daunting task and that's why this thread is somewhat idle. Thanks for your understanding akpgalaxy: @mobil567, abeg help me with this info. Anyone with the info, abeg help me |

No, study years do not count in Sweden (in terms of getting residency). You have to switch permits Ichiebillion: Boss, does program duration count towards postgraduate work permit like in Canada? The school that am looking at, offers a program with a year and two years duration respectively. If there are technically no advantage, then I will proceed for the cheaper one year program. |

Don’t worry about it. You will most likely not apply for your permit until next month anyway. Just print 3 months bank statement, and get ready to resend a recent one if asked. daviano2013: @Mobil567, please can you explain this write up for me, saw it on Swedish Migration Agency Website. Thanks |

1) I don’t have kids yet. Others can help you better. 2) family accommodation is hard to get because universities does not provide housing in such case. So your best bet is actually Facebook, joining queue or finding other Nigerians in your city that know available spaces. 3) sadly, not the best person to advise for this. 4) have enough funds to last you for a year since you’re coming with kids. This will ensure smooth settlement before you can start working. All the best HeyHey: @lionize, @Mobil567 @ebim
I just got admitted and by Gods grace, will be coming with 2kids. Following your experience, I will apply for myself first before the kids bc them never get passport.
My questions are as follows: 1. Has your family joined you?, did you register for kids school from Nigeria 2. Accomodation, I saw some places on sssb and facebook, I was advised to queue but was discouraged when I see the waiting time as 1119 days 3. What should I note about bringing kids to Stockholm as Na only me and them Dey come 4. All other insights and contributions are welcomed

Most of your questions can easily be answered if you actually take your time to read through Migrationsverket website.
Yes, you are eligible to for a one year job search visa after your studies.
For rate conversation to calculate POF, use xe.com or oanda but make room for fluctuations. |

I don't know tbh. I did not need insurance as my programme is more than a year, so the university covers that. I suggest checking with your university first. Otherwise, keep an eye on the thread and someone will advise you better. Richbuddy: Thank you mobil567 for your response. God bless.
What is the best insurance company to use and how much?
I would appreciate a response. Thank you |

Most of us on this thread also live in Sweden. So he either misinformed you or you misunderstood him. The only applicant that has a guaranteed permit is an SI holder. In reference to deferral, that depends on the reason and school. Usually, you will be asked to reapply during the next rounds. So email the university and see what they say. CaptPlanet: Okay. The person that told me lives there. He handled the application himself. Anyway, I'm still considering it. Can one defer admission? |

Exact! sibbo: Ok. Confirm from the University then if you will still be eligible for a scholarship even though you are on Reserve. Considering that reserve slots are not guaranteed that you will get a chance at being admitted to your program of choice. You will only be considered for admission if someone else declines their admission. |

Fidelitybank will not debit you in (7) working days without anyone pushing it up the queue. Not true at all. missuzoma: Not true, biko!
