itsIYKE:Do MPs beat soldiers? |
Fedric:..com offers more freedom than .. ..com is also easy to set up and you can have a blog running in less than a minute. It costs nothing to set up unlike the rest except . that would require you to pay for hosting and domain name. Many Nigerians don't use . because, as I observed from a post that made front page last week, they do not know the difference between the free and paid version of wordpress, so they often get confused along the way before they abandon it for ..com. Besides, as someone rightly said, they are using it because Linda Ikeji is also using it. It sounds funny but it's true. Everyone wants to be the next Linda Ikeji. |
Nothing new. Everyone knows this already. |
Few days ago, Thankgodeboh posted an article titled "Of Ambode 50,000 Ngn, Idleness And One Night Stand" where he advised Lagos graduates to swallow their pride so they can swallow the 50,000 naira the state government wishes to pay them for working as bus conductors. He was right but there are some underlying issues that need to be looked into. The major problem with Nigerian graduates in general is pride. They believe they are semi gods that should be worshipped because they spent four, five or six years in an higher institution. To them, anyone that had not been to an higher institution, either a University of a Polytechnic, is an illiterate, even if they made their SSCE in flying colours. The first problem many graduates have with the graduate bus conductor scheme is that it existence was not officially announced by the Lagos state governor. It was announced by Comrade Israel Ade, the national president of the Bus Conductors Association of Nigeria (BCAN), through the Lagos State Ministry of Transport. In other words, a serving or former bus conductor told Lagos graduates that they would soon be employed as bus conductors. Abomination! Many graduates would see this as demeaning due to their over bloated ego and high expectations. They would have preferred the state governor to announce it himself so they can at least brag that their job was so important the state governor took his time to personally announce it. The second is packaging. Graduate and conductors are two words that should not even appear in the same sentence and even when they do, they should be separated with as many filler words as possible. Comrade Ade broke this rule when he separated “graduands” and “conductors” with only five words. According to him, “…graduands would be employed as bus conductors”. Comrade, just like that? “Graduands who have been to the University or Polytechnic and completed their National Youth Service Corps service year and have nothing doing at present apart from maybe, having one night stands as Toke Makinwa said the other day would be employed as bus conductors” would have been more appropriate. There are forty-two words between “graduands” and “conductors” which is very okay. The words are unnecessary but they serve a purpose. Yet, someone (I won’t reveal his name for security reasons) even had the guts to refer to these new breed of upcoming conductors as “graduate conductors”. If Lagos BRT drivers are called “pilots”, LAWMA waste disposers are called “sanitation officers” and Lagos street cleaners are called “highway managers”, why then should graduate conductors be called graduate conductors. Lagos state really needs to take a cue from Aregebesola Osun state’s O-YES scheme, whose members are called “cadets” irrespective of the fact that many of them sweep roads and pack waste. The cadets are in different units we like to think are called “battalions”. There is the Green Gang, which beautifies the state; the Sanitation Czars who are the Osun state equivalent of LAWMA; the Sheriffs, who are glorified security men; the Teacher Corps, which is self explanatory and the Public Works Gang, which maintains public buildings and facilities. Many of these cadets are graduates and they are doing the work happily since the packaging is very okay. It makes more sense to say you work as a sanitation czar than as a waster packer. Before whoever you spoke to can guess what czar means, you are off. As an end note, I would advise Ambode, the Lagos state Minister of Transportation and Comrade Israel Ade to put together the same heads they used to come up with the scheme, to come up with a classy name for it. I would have advised them to use “bus coordinators” or more preferably, “mobility supervisors” but they know better. Comrade Ade himself should be ready to change the name of the association to suit the new graduates who would be members, else the graduates would form a rival association. Meanwhile, other Lagos graduates like me who are not interested in taking up the graduate conductor jobs, irrespective of what it is called, can continue having one night stands as Toke Makinwa advised. https://moshbakare..com.ng/2016/11/in-defence-of-nigerian-graduates.html |
JAZES:Ok. Noted. Thank you. |
JAZES:Do you buy Paypal? If you do, how much? |
How much do you buy Paypal? |
Duru009:That's false. Recruitment into NDA is done on state to state basis. All states have equal slots except Abuja that usually has a lower number of intakes. |
MrAJQ:That's good. I wish you the best in your endevours. But El Rufai is a crazy person. |
elmisti:No be phone o. Na windows tab. Just like laptop. |
I hope you guys get commended. I also hope he pays us the 33k or so Kaduna pays corp members at the end of the service year. Besides, your profile pix, are you not the 6 platoon leader. |
A big shoutout to myself. It wasn't easy. |
Yes o! Congratulations to us. |

Thank you very much for your opinion. I was not expecting something better. The fact that we are of the same religion does not mean I should blindly support you. the governors that started this mass wedding ish did not do it because of Islam. he did it for political purposes. |
Friendschoice:Marriages do not need to be elaborate. Any couple that can sign up for a mass wedding should be able to afford a 2k pride price and a small party with kuunu/coco and kose (akara). That's how they roll here in the north. Someone even married his wife with 5000 naira and a 10 litre keg of burukutu. If the government is "helping" these people pay bride price, would they also "help" them to feed? Would they help them to take care of their children? Come to Kaduna or go to Kano and you'll see unkempt children running up and down with big bowls. They're the almajiris and they are the product of mass marriages like this. |
personal59:I am actually on NYSC and I have been here for nine months. I am from the southern Nigeria and I schooled in a Muslim majority state, somewhere in the North Central. I'm serving in Zonkwa though I have been to Kaduna north. In fact, I am currently in Zaria and I have been here for three weeks now. All in all, I am not a permanent resident here. |
Anyone that cannot afford a condom cannot afford a baby. Likewise, anyone that cannot afford a marriage ceremony cannot afford to keep a family. It's simple logic. Mass marriages should be banned. Or is marriage compulsory? Islam says marry when you can afford it. Not marry when the government or hisba police can. And please, no one should bring up the issue of marrying to avoid premarital sex etc. Islam says you should fast if you cannot keep to yourself. Things like this only lead to poverty. That's why we have all these unkempt children with big bowls running up and down the streets of Kaduna north where we Muslims are majority. I live in Kaduna south and I have never seen an adult beggar, talkless of a child beggar. NB: I am a Muslim too. |
Sunnymatey:And when did "cross riverians" start bearing Funmi? NB: I am not trying to support the tribal bigot you quoted. |
Same ol' shit. The person with the highest vote wins, not the person with the best storyline. Not interested. I don't have the time or resources to solicit for votes. |
Olaryeankarh:How much? |
Cholls:Badt guy. .:-D |
jamex93:I once had a similar problem and it was due to a rogue app. Uninstall any app you downloaded around the period this problem started. |
dmater:English! |
dmater:This's exactly what he's talking about. The earlier you realize that Nnamdi Kanu cares for no one but his pocket, the better. |
Xone3:It's not love. The guy is desperate for marriage. Please stay away from him. |
Vyolet:It's good to give. Just make sure you go without the photographer, videoman and the likes. Good deeds should be done in secret. |
Desperate times requires desperate measures. That's probably his sitting room rug. |
This is the video of senior Army officers begging Shites to leave the road for the convoy of the Chief Of Army Staff. Recall that it was this incident that led to the clampdown of the group. Towards the end of the video, you can see that the group had started burning tyres and blocking the road either in protest or to stop the convoy from passing. The Shites men can be seen with large sticks and some can be seen with machetes. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-1jdCfSa8tg&fulldescription=1&gl=NG&hl=en&client=mv-google cc: Lalasticlala |
tonychristopher:The same also applies to you. Secondly, at the bolded, I am Yoruba but I along with every other unbiased Nigerian would tell you the Hausas help themselves more than any other tribe in this country. |
Abubakar Shekau was leading a very large group of Boko Haram fighters through Sambisa forest when they heard a voice call from behind a sand dune: "One Nigerian soldier is better than ten Boko Haram fighters." Shekau immediately ordered ten of his best men over the dune where a gun-battle broke out. After a few minutes, there's silence and the voice calls out again: "One Nigerian soldier is better than one hundred Boko Haram fighters." Furious, Shekau sent his next best one hundred fighters over the dune. A huge fire-fight began and after ten minutes, there's absolute silence before the voice called out again: "One Nigerian soldier is better than a thousand Boko Haram fighters." Angrier than ever, Shekau sent one thousand and one fighters to the other side of the dune. Rifle fire, machine guns, grenades, RPG's, anti-aircraft and cannon fire rang out as a terrible battle began. One hour later, there's silence. Then the voice calls out again: "One Nigerian soldier is better than ten thousand Boko Haram fighters." Before Shekau could send in more of his men, one badly wounded Boko Haram fighter from the last battle crawled out of the dune with his two legs missing. He crawls to Shekau and with his dying words told him: "It's a trap. Don't send any more men there. There're two Nigerian soldiers and not one." |
