Officialgarri:El rufai doesn't need their votes. Kaduna state is like two different states in one. Kaduna north, who are often Hausa/Fulani Muslims, do not get along with the people of Kaduna south, who are often Christians. Years of tribal politics on both sides has left the people of the Christian south treated as second class citizens in their own state. They are often cheated and there is an ongoing attempt by this same El Rufai to bring their kingdoms under the Muslim Emir of Zaria. El Rufai renamed the Christian chiefdoms and kingdoms, Emirates (which is only used by Muslims) and demanded their Christian chiefs and kings wear Muslim turbans. Kaduna south people are pro-PDP. They vote PDP in every election irrespective of who PDP is fielding. The north is pro-APC. |
Thanks for this. They're cool and helpful. This is the sort of thing Nairaland was known for until snakes came along ![]() |
We are noy supposed to have State of Origin and Local Government on an ID card. It promotes tribal and religious profiling. |
Mayorlawee, thanks. |
We all know the people who will get scholarship. This will definitely go the CCECC scholarship way. |
epicure:It's a serious issue. You can resolve it at your NYSC state secretariat. |
Sadiqali24:No, you didn't. Poly graduates also spend three years in the uni to get their B.Sc. Engineering students spend four years. Poly graduates also spend one or two years on industrial training (depending on the grade they graduated with) before they can go for their HND. So it is balanced. The HND becomes a disadvantage when you want to get a Masters. Poly graduates spend one year to get a post-graduate diploma before they can proceed for their Masters. |
I know this's off topic, but I found this joke funny. A horse walks into a movie theater, gets his popcorn and a Diet Coke, and sits down in one of the few seats that are left. He realizes right away there's a cow sitting directly in front of him wearing this huge hat, totally inappropriate to wear indoors, one of the big, tall Stetson hats, completely blocking his view. So the horse taps the cow on the shoulder. Excuse me? Cow doesn't budge. No response at all. So again, the horse taps him on the shoulder. Excuse me? The cow is like ice. He's like a statue. So OK, one more time. He taps him on the shoulder. Hey, can you take off your hat? Cow turns around. And he's like, oh, my God, it's a talking horse. |

xammax:You're doing it all wrong. Your should aim to be a better version of yourself -- not a better version of somebody else. Else, you'll end up disappointed. Your CGPA is a first class. Strive to maintain it and stop trying to defeat the other dude. |
Osun state loading. APC used the Ekiti and later, Osun state elections to perfect its rigging machinery. Let's see how this ends. |
Who voted in Borno? Where are these people from? Borno people are supposed to be the most sensible people in this nation but it seems they are part of the dumbest. Little wonder they are in the mess they are today. What has the current state government done about the IDP situation in the state? What has the incoming one promised to do? I believe there are candidates besides these two that would have promised to improve their lives but they did not vote for them. Besides, where did 1 million people plus get voters card. Did they all take it when they fled their homes? Or are they all living in Maiduguri? |
This is the handiwork of that useless party that patronizes thugs, criminals and other like-minded individuals. Everybody knows that party so I will not mention names. |
Was he not the same person accused of stealing $195 billion from the pension scheme? GEJ's government even declared him wanted in 2012 and sacked him in 2013. He fled Nigeria until of course, Buhari put him back in government. And now, he's telling us he helped Buhari recover money? Which money if not the one he stole. https://punchng.com/maina-the-audacity-of-corruption/ http://saharareporters.com/2017/10/20/buhari-administration-recalls-wanted-ex-pension-boss-sacked-alleged-corruption-0 |
This has been happening long ago. In my primary school, there was no Primary 5. Primary 1 used books meant for Primary 2, Primary 2 used books meant for Primary 3 and so on. Primary 5 used books of Primary 5 and Primary 6 used books or Primary 6. I don't think the 6-3-3-4 is really necessary. 6 years is too long for primary school in my opinion. Remember that there is also nursery, kindergarten and daycare. |
dru23:Thank you very much for this. I'll go for the foreign used. |
dru23:Thank you for this. One more thing: Is it advisable I get a Nigerian used Civic? |

Dvd4:You'll be surprised. I'm more than for real. The few that'll give loans will give at neck-breaking interests. I mean the likes of LAPO microfinance bank. They can give you 50k and you'll pay like 70-80k in return. While repaying the loan, you'll also be expected to pay some money into a compulsory savings account you'll maintain with the bank. And they pay weekly too. Like 3-5k. If you default, they'll come to your house with megaphones and inform the whole street you're owning them money. I believe you don't want that. Ibadan women call it gbomu so ri lantern. That is, put your breast on a lantern. |
Is Honda Civic 2008 good for Uber? |
Dvd4:No. It's not possible. Even a worker will find it difficult to get a loan of such amount. |
Your link leads to a book you're selling -- just as I thought. You have provided no hardcore evidence that this works. |

ibroh22:Wow! I remember that day. Students actually seized two armoured vehicles from the police. The Mopol guys were surprised and started begging. |
JerryJJZ:Thanks. |
I've voted. I'm the first person to vote in my polling unit. Woke up around 4 so I could travel to my polling unit, which is a bit far from where I live. I voted for People's Trust all through. |
It is a common misconception that we say hello when we pick calls because Hello was the surname of Alexander Graham Bell’s girlfriend, Margaret Hello. There are different versions of the story. One version says Bell requested that we used hello when using his invention because he wanted to honor his girlfriend. Another states that Bell connected the first telephone between his home and Hello’s home, and called out her name during the first phone call. Both are false. Bell’s first statement over the telephone was to his assistant, Thomas A. Watson, who was in an adjoining room. Bell said “Mr. Watson, come here, I want to see you.” Besides, Bell never had a girlfriend called Margaret Hello — that’s if he ever had a girlfriend at all. Why do we say Hello when we pick calls? We say hello because Thomas Edison (who invented the light bulb) wanted us to. Bell’s telephone was intended to link only two places together. Like two homes, offices or a home and an office. Because of this, the first telephones could not ring. People used words like “Are you there?” and “Are you ready to talk?” whenever they wanted to talk to the person at the other end. Bell and Edison soon realized that people needed a shorter word to alert them that somebody wanted to speak to them over the telephone. Bell opted for Ahoy! Edison preferred Hello. The Origin of Ahoy Ahoy is a greeting among sailors and ferrymen. It is from the Middle English “hoy,” which is from “hoi,” a Dutch word meaning “hello.” Sailors initially sued “ho, the ship ahoy!” before shortening it to “ahoy” or sometimes, “Ahoy-hoy!” The Origin of Hello The origin of hello is not very clear. It could also be from the Old French “haloer” or the Middle English “halwe,” which means “a saint, holy thing, or shrine.” The Middle English “halwe” could be related to the ancient “hail” which is used as a salutation. The ancient hail is from the Old Norse “heill,” which means “health.” However, it is likelier that hello is from the Middle English “hallow,” which means “to pursue” or “urge on.” The word was initially used to order hunting dogs to chase a prey. It was later used to greet a person. There were different variants of the word. Hallo, holla, hollo, halloa, halloo, hello, hillo, hilla, hilloa, holla, holler, hollo, holloa, hollow and hullo were all used. They are all derivatives of the Old High German “halâ” and “holâ,” which is from “halôn,” which means “to fetch.” The Old German words were used as greeting among sailors and ferrymen. Hello’s first confirmed appearance was in the October 18, 1826, edition of the Norwich Courier of Norwich, Connecticut. By 1848, it had become a standard greeting in the United States. Why Thomas Edison Preferred Hello Thomas Edison discovered how recorded sounds worked when he invented the phonograph in 1877. "The phonograph was the first device to allow people record and playback sound." On July 18, 1877, he screamed “halloo!” into the mouthpiece of his phonograph. He loved the word and continued to use it in his experiments although he often changed its spelling and pronunciation. However, he settled for hello after Bell invented the telephone. How Hello Won over Ahoy Bell should have won the Hello-Ahoy war because he invented the telephone. However, he lost out when the telephone exchange came along. "A telephone exchange allowed people to speak with almost anybody else. It was a central station where people called and asked workers to connect them to whoever they wanted to speak with. The workers connected the caller to the receiver, completing the phone call." Edison supplied equipment to the several telephone exchanges including District Telephone Company, the first telephone exchange, which opened in New Haven, Connecticut, on January 28, 1878. The manual issued to customers suggested they used either “Hello” or “What is wanted?” Two years later, everybody was using hello. Bell never used hello and continued to use ahoy until his death. Wednesday, February 6, 2019. Abuja, Nigeria. The new Inspector-General of Police has set up the Pant Protection Department of the Nigerian Police barely a month after assuming office. In a statement issued during his first meeting with the media yesterday, IGP Abubakar Mohammed Adamu said the new department was necessary to checkmate the incessant theft of female panties by internet fraudsters known as Yahoo boys. The IGP said the department will report directly to his office and will be headed by the famous crime buster, Assistant Commissioner of Police Abba Kyari. IGP Adamu added that the sudden rise in pant theft is alarming especially in the southwestern and southeastern regions of the country where police stations have witnessed an embarrassing increase in pant related crimes. Earlier this month, officers at Area F divisional police station in Agbor, Delta state, detained a suspected yahoo boy after his girlfriend started imitating the sounds of a Benz engine. His brother was also detained after his girlfriend pretended her slippers was a steering wheel as she ran around her family house while pretending to drive a Benz. At Area G Ogba, Lagos, a lady accused one of her neighbors of using her pants for rituals after a Benz logo mysteriously appeared on her forehead. One of the weirdest reports came from the state headquarters in Ibadan, where a lady has been reciting the names of the past CEOs of Mercedes Benz for the past nine days. The IG added that he had directed all DPOs to set up pant registration desks at all divisional police stations across the country. Starting from Monday the 21st, every Nigerian lady below the age of 27 will be required to register their pants at the nearest police station. The IG said the pants will be tagged and the owners issued unique Pant Identification Numbers (PIN) to hasten the identification and recovery of stolen pants. EFCC to set up similar unit Ibrahim Magu, the Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) said his office was closely monitoring the situation and could set up a similar department in the future. During a brief phone call, Magu said the EFCC was in close talks with the police and had seconded some agents to the Pant Protection Department to help with pant theft investigations. Yahoo Boys Deny Stealing Pants The announcement of the new police department did not sit well with the G-boy and Allied Businessmen Association of Nigeria (GABAN). The spokesperson of the organization, who only identified himself with the alias, Olu Wire, said the Pant Protection Department was a decoy and attempt to allow SARS go after innocent youths. He added that the Police and EFCC would have been better off going after state governors who hide bribes in their agbadas. Olu Wire added that GABAN members do not use pants or engage in rituals. However, he mentioned that members of the United Omo Ologo Front (UNOOF), a breakaway faction of GABAN, could be involved in such vices. In a brief phone call with an anonymous man claiming to be the secretary of UNOOF, the man denied any relationship between UNOOF and pants. He mentioned that UNOOF was only interested in punishing the white men who sold their grandparents as slaves and did not use pants for rituals. However, he added that GABAN members could be responsible for the rise in pant theft. This is a developing story. Note: What you just read is a fictional article. |
