Until mining is withdrawn from the exclusive list of the constitution to the concurrent or residual list, then the gold mines beneath the soils of Ilesha would be as worthless as Freeglobe's last menstrual pad.

This is my problem with you tribalistic yorubas. Why must everything be about igbos? Is this not supposed to be a yoruba thread or you want us to invade and tear this thread apart? Now that you removed the shoeless one and put the dull one, how market? Have yorubas been able to occupy the "strategic seats" we occupied during the time of the shoeless one. It's envy and covetousness that will kill foolish yorubas like you. Let me see you again in praising buhari on nairaland. You have been noted and this your post has been entered into the archives.

A Yoruba person should never put party interests before the Yoruba cause. What is wrong is wrong, we don't have to sugarcoat it. If folks aren't performing, we have to call them out. At the end of the day, there are a lot of pages on here where we celebrated certain developments in the SW. How come these folks never had a problem with that? We're not robots.
Shy, what exactly is the yoruba cause? ...
you do realise that Yoruba folks who don't carry cards but must align someplace where their agitations will be met?

You don't realise the peculiarity of the situation in Nigeria, we practise politics of exclusion & yorubas are tired of swimming against the tide!!!

You can't use the west as a yardstick here, we have different realities, E.g when you post about NID doing us proud, i love it, up its LIKE quota but sincerely don't remember them the next day cos it is not my REALITY...

Did the shoeless one perform? But Romanis were ready to go to hades for me cos he put their people in strategic posts .....

The former SGF got to the office of the SGF of the federation, posted out all the SWners & the Malas & proceeded to go to the East to import everything with certificate from there into the FEDERAL service on 2 grades above what should ordinarily be , & he got away with it cos they had political power..

The yoruba cause is one that will see it the progress of the SW & i am here for any character that will push it...

2011, i didn't vote for ACN/Ribadu cos i don't see no leadership quality in him.....

*sidebar* , still wondering the level 16 romani civil servant who stuck his head out for that dissident's bail, still wondering how he will be able to explain away having a land in central Abuja on a DD's Salary... smiley

Considering the foolishness of the romanis, I will go with your opninion of toning down then but it is imperative that we make sure we expose/pin point areas of failures as much as we celebrate successes here.
If we don't remove the speck from our eyes, what moral rights have we to point out another person's log ?

We must critique what is ours but it is better done in a way to identify with the struggle ......

Until we remove patronage & money from our politics, we will continue to go about like headless chicken...

@ Aareonakakanfo

That's what I told you about getting too many folks involved on this thread cos it'll get too partisan. I know this forum cos I've been here for three years and a lot of folks are too partisan.

This is also the reason why Katsumoto stopped posting cos it's difficult to critique the so-called "Yoruba leaders" for their obvious failures. That's why these folks keep taking Yoruba folks as mugs.

Once you use the dynamics of the last elections as a yardstick and how close the election was in all SWern states, you'd see that a lot of Yoruba folks out there are tired of APC. But they just don't have a choice cos it's the lesser devil when compared to PDP.
Of course we'll get partisan, one doesn't have to be a political jobber to be partisan, we are human with emotions..... We live here & know where the shoes hurt!!

Being beaten to death & dying from sudden death are both DEATHS but one is easier & swifter than the other..

Of course we will go with the lesser evil, someone kindly create another party that will solve our problems & see if we won't support it wholeheartedly......

I live in a city where i have seen a family friend go from being a regular level 12 officer to being a serious multi millionaire on school subvention funds simply because of lack of checks & balances in the system....

We can't go with having no leader, it's one of the reasons Romanis keep making political gaffes, we can as well go with someone who is at least SERIOUS about wanting to make an effort...

The result of the last election wasn't close as some may imagine, I'm sure @Osomalo if he wants to be sincere can tell you how much resources was sunk into getting votes for the shoeless one....

I only know about events from most SW from hearsay but i am sure about Omuo-Ekiti , each vote was 2,000..

Fayose spared no expense to get things his way..

We may spend everyday here bellyaching, i still don't see how it will help our region be better in the face of our mono export & non diversified economy...

Aunty Modath, oro po ninu iwe kobo.

With due respect, I disagree with you on your stance. Let's criticize our SW leaders explicitly without mincing words. E jeki a bu won daa da! . Afterall, who have they helped, except their cronies and relatives?

As regards the Flat-heads' unwarranted and annoying poke-nosing into this thread, I think the best folks like you can do is to ignore them completely. But trust me, I'll pay them in their own coin.

That aside, I've been trying to figure out how you came about your moniker, "modath"...sounds like the name of an ancient Greek goddess. As google couldn't help, I tried stringing parts of some distinct words together but gave up after futile attempts. I thought of MODupe-ATHeist, but a lady Yoruba atheist is as rare as a virgin in a maternity ward. grin . I know the reason behind IlekeHD and Ibebe's moniker though.
Amaru, i don't engage them cos i don't want to disturb this great thread & maybe cos i can't cool down enough to type quarrel.... blood is hot & eyes are red mehn....

You don't detest these leaders as much as i do but i hate ALL OF THEM, I'm not compartmentalizing..

The difference is that this thread wasn't created to continue to moan about our "leaders" , (WE KNOW IT, ONLY AN OSTRICH WILL CLAIM OTHERWISE)..

It is to proffer viable ways to work through the albatross that they are to us, the Nation is skewed in a way that political office holders have been elevated to demi gods & only a collective will to progress will turn things round.

Maybe the Mof0 spamming those threads is what got to me..... but when we continue to call ours trash without pausing for breath., No fight when people dump their waste in it.... smiley

As per the username, it is a conglomeration of the initials of my nuclear family.... Atheism ke? I no get that mind, if i find out later God doesn't exist, no P but now let me have "something" to belief in & a place to wear beautiful voile laces to show off... cheesy

The whole country is Effed Up, SW is even better, come to FCT & see billions going down in FCDA & Devt Control with zero to show in infrastructures... Federal fa.... undecided

Egbon mi, I have thought about the effect of giving a 'foe' ammunitions to attack us with but then how are we supposed to discuss pressing issues if we are not honest with and to ourselves?

We do not have any other platform exclusively reserved for us to open up about situations bothering on our region.

If we begin to censor, how else are some of us not present in or accessible to some locations supposed to get a clear picture of the situation there?

I would like to see how it goes if the house chooses to dumb things down.
So we can only have a "clear pictures" if we go the hyberbolic & negative in every assessment?? Didn't know a caricature pictorial of a down & out south west is the best route to take..

I may be wrong & appeal to be excused for it but we aren't doing ourselves any favor by being EXTREMELY harsh (not that they dont deserve it & more) on our "Leaders" especially on this kind of board that anyone can just click & draw conclusions that weren't implied or intended in the first place....
