emiye: There is also the possibility that the current NURTW chairman feels threatened of the ex nurtw chair closer rapport with the incoming governor, in my view according to reports from indigenes of ekiti, he was instrumental in votes mobilsation, and followed Fayose to the court. And the current Nurtw chairman thinks What if Fayose becomes elected, and the nigga is reinstalled ? *just playing the devils advocate".

Honestly, i feel the murder is inhouse.
The question is, was power wrestled out from him? This is an ex-chairman who relinquished power to his ally when his time was up. The problem that ensued then was coz of his choice of candidate. So, where is the fear of being re-installed back coming from? Is NURTW chairmanship the only job Fayose can offer him? What about being the 'Dagrin' boss?I live in Ado and am conversant with all these
PoliticsRe: Pictures From The Riot In Ado Ekiti by modestdude(m): 5:42pm On Sep 26, 2014
Arch1: Shut it !
There is an on-going supremacy battle within the NURTW ranks in Ekiti state. The NURTW thugs are Fayose's thugs.

Since Fayose is the in-coming Governor, the assasinated NURTW boss was most likely killed by some of his lieutenants who might want to occupy his position and enjoy the benefit of working for a thuggish governor.

It is an infighting between Fayose's NURTW thugs that has now resulted into a wider conflict coupled with the attack on the court/Judge yesterday
Bros, make reference to the news update again. Omolafe is the former NURTW boss, meaning the NURTW has a new leader now. This nullifies the assertion of any supremacy battle or in-fighting in the NURTW. So his allegiance to Fayose has nothing to do with NURTW.

GROUP WANTS JUDGE INVESTIGATED

The Ekiti Movement for Good Governance (EMGG) has called on the National Judicial Council (NJC) to sanction Justice Olusegun Ogunyemi, over his controversial handling of the suits filed on behalf of the Ekiti-11 by a member, Mr. Femi Ajakaiye and a similar matter filed by the Citizen Political Party, challenging Ekiti Governor-Elect, Mr Ayodele Fayose’s eligibility to contest the June 21, 2014 governorship election.

The group, which said it was curious that a judge would rule on Preliminary Objections, move to begin hearing and conclude the hearing of the suits in one day, added that; “Justice Ogunyemi must be made to explain the urgency in the matter since Fayose that the suits were aimed at preventing from contesting the election had already contested the election and won.”

In a release issued on Tuesday, by EMGG and signed by its Secretary, Dr Abiodun Aina, the group called on the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Justice Aloma Mariam Mukhtar to save Ekiti people from being short-changed by the All Progressives Congress (APC), using corrupt men of the Ekiti State judiciary like Justice Ogunyemi.

Describing Justice Ogunyemi as a judge who thrives in corruption, EMGG said; “Evidence of Justice Ogunyemi’s underhand deals abounds in the number of properties that he owns in Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State capital alone. The judge has no fewer than 10 mansions in Ado-Ekiti alone.

“Justice Ogunyemi has a mansion at NTA area in Ado-Ekiti, two mansions at Ekute area of Ado-Ekiti, another two at Ajilosun area and one directly opposite Olujoda Hotel, Ado-Ekiti and the question is; how was he able to acquire all these properties if not through judicial corruption?”

The EMGG, which accused Justice Ogunyemi of collecting over N70 million bribe from the APC-led government in Ekiti State, said; “From what happened yesterday, it was obvious that Justice Ogunyemi was desperate to ‘deliver’ as he had promised those who paid him to use his judicial powers to achieve what they could not achieve through the ballot boxes.

“The plot was simple. On October 15, 2014, Justice Ogunyemi will deliver his kangaroo judgment, declaring Fayose as unqualified to contest the June 21 election and that Speaker of the State House of Assembly should be sworn in as Acting Governor on October 16, 2014.

“By delivering the judgment on October 15, 2014, there won’t be room for appeal and the APC’s objective of throwing Ekiti State into chaos would have been achieved.

“The CJN must therefore save Ekiti State from an impending chaos by calling Justice Ogunyemi to order because if what happened in Ado-Ekiti on Monday is anything to go by, Ekiti will burn should anything be done against the mandate freely given to Fayose by the people of Ekiti.”

.
A prominent politician under the Peoples
Democratic Party (PDP) in Ekiti state named
Omolafe Aderiye has reportedly been murdered.
Mr Aderiye, a staunch PDP stalwart and also a die hard supporter of the Ekiti State Governor-Elect, Mr Ayodele Fayose, was on Thursday night shot by some unknown men following the political crisis earlier today. He followed Fayose to the High Court Complex in Ado-Ekiti early in the morning when the governor-elect attended the sitting of the Governorship Election Petition tribunal.

Mr Aderiye, who was also a former Ekiti state
Chairman of the National Union of Road
Transport Workers (NURTW), was reportedly
trailed to his office in Ijigbo by some unknown
gunmen and shot.

The bolded and especially the italicized is a pointer that the assasination is from the opposition.

They are responsible for their training viz tuition, academic and spiritual materials etc however, the missionary supports them with feeding from farm proceeds and food donations from parishes. Also, the tuition is usually subsidized

humility, zeal, mercy, self-sacrifice.
It also recalls your many foundations:
Works of Mercy, Congregations, Societies.
The Church gratefully remembers your
promotion of the priesthood.
Inspire all Charitable Workers,

O Lord, give us the grace that You

Hail Mary...

Permit me sir, to add another prayer to St Vincent de Paul.

O glorious st. Vincent, heavenly patron of all charitable associations, and father of all the unfortunate who in your lifetime did not reject anyone who had recourse to you, see by how many evils we are oppressed. Obtain from our Lord help for the poor, solace for the sick, consolation for the afflicted, protection for the abandoned, charity for the rich, conversion for sinners, zeal for priests, peace for the church, tranquility among nations and salvation for all. May all feel the effects of your merciful intercession, that sustained by you in the miseries of this life, we may be able to join you above, where there will be no more strife, lamentation or sorrow, but joy, exaltation and beatitude for ever. Amen

peppyluv02: Peace be unto you all...
Quite a hectic day and had no time to visit this forum until now. I read all your comments and just like someone said, there is nothing wrong with self expression but doing it in a way it wouldn't hurt others is the best..I'm guilty but now I know better because there is power in the tongue and it can't be used to bless and curse at the same time. I am, we are only human but we can strive to do better....

@ ubenedictus, i noticed you to be a tribalist and you don't like the Igbos but who am I to judge you afterall I showed same towards the yorubas but I have withdrawn from that. The only difference is that I didn't pretend about it like you did. Sorry,no offence. Just saying it as it is.
And I guess you know that wole soyinka who is also a yoruba man agreed the North waged an unjust way against the Igbos..
Trust me 40yrs isn't too long ago. You and I know no tribe would have survived nor gotten back on their feet so soon as the Igbos did..no bragging just saying the truth.

@ striklymi, thanks for the admiration. I must confess,my attitude on nl is a part of me except the tribal wars. I have so many non Igbo friends and once had a yoruba best friend and still my friend till date just that we far apart. So,I don't hate them and the fact I do it on nl thou out of defence bothers me and I have stopped it. A good catholic shouldn't hate.
The catholic church is the only church where tribalism isn't present even thou there is power tussle most times but never between tribes. No need for details but if you get close to other denominations, you will know what I'm talking about.

@ babestell,jnrbayano,step2002,italo thanks for the advise and don't stop inspiring me

@modestdude,brother I never knew you were Igbo, thought you were yoruba. But now I guess tribe doesn't matter,we should strive towards being one. Yea,it won't be easy. 40yrs ago is just like yesterday. I have read and did my research on the war, it was an unjust one but like I said,we can forgive even thou they still taunt, mock and marginalise us but turn around to put the blame on us....they have even brainwashed people to believing Ojukwu started the war but we know better and Gowon does too. His concience hunts him and he knew clearly that the vote of thanks he got from the MC @ late prof Akunyili's burial was pure sacarsm "Gowon,I remember you gave us,the surviving children of Biafra stones to sit on after the war,it shows you really meant reconciliation and we thank you"....he was so restless where he was siting and one could notice the grin on the faces of the Igbo elders there. Sure,Gowon's concience must be hunting him.
The day he comes out boldly to apologise for that unjust war, trust me there will be peace and many wounds will be healed.. I wish he will do that.

@ Francistony, age shouldn't be a form of defence for your ignorance. I might be older than you but I wasn't up to 10yrs of age before I picked interest on the Biafran story neither was I through with primary school before I made up my mind to be a teacher/Lecturer and don't get it twisted I am in my mid twenties! I have a 20yrs old brother,a 4th year medical student who knows much about the war and can speak intelligently about it so you see,you have no excuse for your ignorance.
Even thou you are unrepentant,I still wouldn't withdraw my apologies for insulting your parents but trust me,in life situation,I would have ripped you apart with my bare hands but for the sake of this beautiful family,I leave to your ignorance.

I apologise for derailing this beautiful thread just felt we should be real and be truly who we claim to be.
Love you guys irrespective of tribe, race or colour and pls don't stop the good work.

i got your drift dear. Let me believe that. However if i ignorantly say something offensive to someone, for the fact that the person finds it offensive, my heart goes out to him immediately unless i purposely want to be mischievous.

striktlymi: "Tribalistic" is coined from the word "Tribalism". It is impractical to 'tribalistic' (in the sense we use it) without being 'loyal' to one's own tribe or social group. Link..

I repeat, Francis' first comment is not enough for anyone to cry fowl. The second comment I agree was distasteful but both comments were not 'tribalistic'.
Mr. Barrister, you don't find a comment that opens up old wounds by way of mockery (dieing biafran children) an inflammatory tribalistic comment? How low can man go to bend the truth? Does it make sense to you that we feel the pains of that war till now? We lost brothers, sisters, fathers and mothers. My father still has a bullet buried in his left thigh till date from that war, and you are here rushing to defend another man's folly.

You think you only kill by taking someone's life, you can also kill someone by your words. I may no longer visit this thread again, since we have people here who rather than admonish a brother, will twist his wrongdoing with logic. This is actually what the first reading of the 23rd sunday from prophet Ezekiel was talking about
(Ezekiel 33:7-9. "...if i say to the wicked, o wicked man, you shall surely die, and you do not speak to warn the wicked to turn from his way, that wicked man shall die in his iniquity, but his blood i will require at your hand. But if you warn the wicked to turn from his way, and he does not turn from his way, he shall die in his iniquity, but you will have saved your life)

Is anyone more Catholic than the other here? Had God called me to priesthood, i would ve been a month old in the priesthood now. So learn to call a spade a spade, it doesn't cost a thing. It takes the grace of God though

FrancisTony: Like I said, I never made a tribalist comment.

I am Igbo and I said what I noticed.
you did my friend. What does tribalism mean to you? deleting your comment on that thread shows that you did. You were the most quoted on that thread with about 20 Nlanders or more hitting back at you. Maybe, they dont know tribalist comment when they see one. I can still quote you on that thread, you said and I quote
"All these Igbotic schools and northern schools. We didnt use or know it here in the west. How person go dey use this Aba made product? This is what Ojukwu used to feed 'dieing' biafran children, bikonu. (Coupled with all your grinned smiley faces)"
What does that mean to you? You said what you observed right? So you observed the war to know that Ojukwu used the water bottle to feed dieing biafran children? Also, mentioning Igbotic rather than saying Eastern like you said Northern is the height of selective tribalism. Furthermore your reference to 'Aba made product' whereas the water bottle is produced in the west, Lagos precisely by eleganza company, speaks of hate at its peak. So swallow your pride, admit your wrongs and embrace love

Highpoint: dieing biafrans
was your selling point as a tribalist

That's the thread Peppyluv02, but its alright. Just let it go, we have done what we ought to do for a brother. We are charged to correct and admonish one another when any of of us is going astray. The beauty of the Church as the community of christ is to help each other on the road to salvation. Its not that we can't worship God in our various homes. So please, don't hate on him, we are all humans and make mistakes including me. Am open to gentle corrections if or whenever i misbehave. We only need God's grace to realize when we are wrong. So dear drop the bitterness at the feet of Christ. Others can refer to the thread and also admonish him

1. Calistus

2. Vitus

3. Paulinus

4. Cyracus

5. Ignatus
These names you mentioned are Roman names that we Igbo Catholics bear in commemoration of the saints who had them and for us to emulate their godly and righteous lives, just like mine; Modestus.

That will change from my own offsprings as they will bear only Igbo names with deep Godly meaning. Igbos have been known since ages as godly people and so refusing to take a whiteman's name won't rob us of our godliness unless a whiteman takes the name iwene Tansi (Iwegbune Tabansi) who is also a Catholic blessed and prospective saint

are you saying that the bracketed (O)nome in igbo means 'I' instead of He/She? I was there when it happened, in Igbo means ANOM OMEE. He/She was there when it happened means ONO OMEE, which is the one you are mistaken for ONOME. Get it right dear, if you want adopt it as an igbo name, it would be ONOMEE. LEBECHI = look unto God
KOSARACHI= pray/tell it to God
CultureRe: Common Beautiful Names From The Igbo Tribe by modestdude(m): 1:29pm On Sep 17, 2014
bigfrancis21: The name is actually deeper in meaning than it appears on the surface level. Igbo people believe that God is the holder and sharer of talents which all proceed from God. And they also believe that God gives everyone his own share of talents in life that that individual needs to succeed in life. No two persons have exactly the same talents or I would say in exactly the same proportions. You might be excellent at public speaking while I suck at it but excel instead at drawing and painting. These are two God-given talents and you and I would believe that these are actually our individual share of talents from God the father.

Literally, it means 'God holds the share' but deeper it actually means God-given talents.
What are you people even talking about? Chijioke simply means God the custodian of all shares/benefits.

We give this name to the male child to highlight the importance attached to a male child, which translates to "God has given me my own share".

So all these talent stuffs you are saying are just secondary
