I have never met one in person but was close to meeting one a Corper precisely who made inquiries from me pertaining to accomodation in Ado-Ekiti. When i finally got my agent involved, the contact went off but i feel it was a blacklist. Currently i know of a sister and Nairalander who resides in the same neighborhood with me but haven't met her. I believe on a good day we shall huu. Also there have been some occasions where people had that funny curious look on their faces when am Nairalanding in their midst like in a public vehicle. i always have the feeling they are Nairalanders yet they wont start a conversation. i dont give a worry over it or blank my page when they do that because am a decent Nairalander who doesn't curse or abuse people under the cover of online social media Finally, am Nairalanding from Ado-Ekiti 2 Likes |

dont8: Not necessary you become an ATM, if you've got enough I don't see anything that stops you from rendering an helping hand to your neighbour(s).Yea it must not necessary be cash, yesterday it was raining so heavily and i was the only one in the house and one of my neighbours did laundry and spread them on the lines. I took his clothes inside when the rain started drizzling. When he came back @ night with the feeling that his clothes have been drenched outside. To his consternation, i packed his clothes and took them to him. He was happy and wondered what he would have done if they were soaked by the rain coz he wud travel very early the folllowing day. This is true, Bride price in yorubaland is small and always returned to the groom. But the cost of wedding ceremonies there is much. From the introduction ceremony to the traditional wedding and to the white wedding, there is enough gbedu and so much spending. What i dont know is if truly its the bride's family that takes care of the entertainment aspects, with little support from the groom. |

On the issue of humility, i tried it out on a particular babe i admired. I called her and suggested we hang out in the evening. She agreed and asked me which place are we hanging out. Being ignorant of the several fast food and hot spots in the area because i came on a visit to my aunt, i suggested a moderate restaurant/joint thats not far from the Estate. Believe you me, to my utter disbelief this babe shouted 'God forbid' over the phone. it was like a bombshell and she cancelled the date. I decided to let her go with her pride. She felt so big and proud that she ought not to be seen in places like that by people that know her or that her social class is way forward and above the level to hang out in such a joint. With the end of that episode, the search still continues and i pray i must find that woman so down to earth 1 Like |
