did i say poster is not?
so all those mentioned as being patriotic like Awolowo, Ojuku, Gani and co spend few months of the year in 9ja and enjoy the rest in oyinbo country only staying in 9ja btw Sept and Dec when understandably its a wise thing to do because of bad weather during that period. i beg
You still don't get the crux of my arguement. Staying 365 days in Nigeria does not make you patriotic. Gani is not regarded as a patriot because he spent 365 days a year in Nigeria. He's a patriot because of what he did, what he fought for etc.
Look up the word "patriot" in the dictionary and then come back, meanwhile,  return your sorry azz to the romance section. This is beyond you darling.

Let us all examine our inner selves and then ask the question"Am I patriotic?" We all talk too much.
Am sorry 90% of Nigerians are incapable of the above, its easier for a Nigerian to blame someone else e.g the govt, other tribes etc.

wakagirl:
me thinks being this patriotic is not spending 9 months out of 9ja but 365/366 days
i love your passion and will be looking forward to you starting
Are you for real? So spending 365/366 days makes you patriotic? I think you're out of your depth here try the "romance section". Hehehe!!!

There's nothing Nigerians love more than whinning and complaining. Nigerians would tell you how advanced the US and Uk are but when you ask how to make Nigeria into a new"USA" he would be out of his depth. Is it a coinsidence that most of our rulers studied abroad but failed to see how societies are governed?
A Nigerian would blame all the ills of society on the govt but should he win an election, he'd out do those he complained about.  We only believe in ready made countries and blame govt for every thing while doing nothing ourselves.

Whilst blaming govt please include these people.
The Police (bribe takers)
The civil servants who go to work but does nowt all day
The rest of Nigeria that remained passive in the face of corruption.

Did I leave out any group?

What's the IG putting in place to ward off armed robbers? Having those checks on our highways was "visible policing" there should be an alternative to them being stationary. If no alternatives are put in place robbers would have a field day soon.

Yoruba culture has more substance than igbo, fact is igbo have been influenced by almost all the tribes that surround them, unlike the yoruba who have mixed, occasionally conquered, been conquered and intermarried but still haven't been heavily influenced by non yoruba groups Truth#.
Herein lies the problem of the Yorubas. The Yoruba nation  should welcome the influence of other cultures. If it refuses to evolve and continues to revolve it would be left behind and may even make itself extinct.

I had a text message saying Fashola joked with some reporters saying:

"When Tinubu was governor, Lagosians weren't having sexx because he was Zap.ing them everyday".

Though Fashola has admitted to screwing Lagosians once in a while, I want to find link or video to the above statement.
I want to authenticate this statement if you have any link to it please share it.

NB
I actually didn't believe this story until I remember "Eko Ile" gets massive e.r.ection when Tinubu is the topic of discussion.

Please do yourself and your fellow pro-GEJ errand boys a Favour by allowing us to think and reason for ourselves. The culture of lies and deception is a hallmark trait of GEJ (as witnessed by his ego-trip and futile attempt atbreaking of an existing agreement in Ethiopia)and  all around him(Abati,Beaf/Reno Omokri et al).
The problem is the bolded, you guys don't think.  Most of you only depend on your prejudices, emotions and or tribal interests. Try and develope a basis where you can do your own research and not hate the president cause he's not from your neck of the woods.

Chia I pity the hypocrisy of these Jonathan's sycophants. Even Abati did not state the how many aids the first lady eventually went with and more importantly you inserted ynaija.com as a link for your Reuben Abati's rejoined.
This is what Abati said
There is only one Nigerian Delegation to this summit not two as your report suggests.
Get it?
Are you saying you blog (ynaija.com)  is an authoritative source than Sahara reporters?
Don't be a tard, my link is to the rejoinder and had nothing to do with authenticating what shakara reporters wrote.

Bros I like your effort to drive traffic to your site but for goodness sake, stop confusing Nigerians - just swallow your portion of the loot.
So anybody with an objective evaluation of events in Nigeria is on the president's payroll. Does it surprise you that GEJ conducted the freest election in Africa and won.  Is it not apparent he has his supporters just as thieving Tinubu has? You're a bigger dolt than you think.

@naijaking1
Sometimes some of these false and sensational stories somehow find their way to the front page, even without verification.
The above is what will kill Nairaland. As soon as most people realise Tinubu decides what goes in the frontpage nairaland is as good as dead.

“Dear Omoyele Sowore,
RE: Sahara Reporters on “Culture of Waste and Insensitivity” and the 18th AU Summit
I observe that you have made no effort, following my earlier explanations, to amend your story titled “Culture of Waste And Insensitivity Continues As Mrs. Jonathan Arrives Addis Ababa With 32 Aides” (Sahara Reporters), and have allowed your readers to rely on deliberate misinformation. The story in question does not reflect the true state of affairs with regard to the President’s delegation to the 18th annual African Union (AU) Summit in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. I therefore want to set the records straight by making the following observations:
1. There is only one Nigerian Delegation to this summit not two as your report suggests. Specifically, the First Lady, Dame Patience Jonathan, has no delegation, official or unofficial, to this summit, and she did not arrive in Addis Ababa with “32 aides.”
2. You correctly reported that Mr. President travelled with a “25-person delegation to Addis Ababa for the 18th African Union Summit” but after salting your story with a dash of hype and peppering it with innuendo you have managed to cook up the impression that there are 57 Nigerian delegates in Addis Ababa. This is not fair.
3. The Nigerian Entourage list contains 35 names in total, however three of those whose names are listed did not join the delegation and the total number of delegates in Addis Ababa is not more than 32. This includes two Senators (the Chair of the Senate committee on NEPAD and another member), a member of the House of Representatives (NEPAD House of Reps), essential aides of the First couple, and Foreign Ministry Officials. Mr. President meant every word of it when he said that only persons who have work to do will be allowed to travel, officially.
4. As you well know, Nigeria is a free country; President Jonathan cannot prevent Nigerians from travelling to Ethiopia or anywhere else without good reason, legal sanction or authority. If there are other Nigerians in Addis Ababa, they are certainly not official delegates, and they have nothing to do with the First Lady.
5. It has become Sahara Reporters’ favourite sport to taint and bait President Jonathan with hooks and details that are inconvenient with the truth. You do your readers and Nigeria no favours by this shrill and deliberate misrepresentation of information.
6. President Jonathan remains committed to the Constitution he swore to protect and defend. You have a responsibility to report the truth.

Politics › The Culture Of Lies And Misinformation On Nairaland by Mogidi(op): 1:18am On Jan 30, 2012
It is impossible to get an objective evaluation of GEJ's presidency on Nairaland. The heteromorphic hatred of GEJ on Nairaland is in the main inspired by tribalism and nothing else. There are so many examples but am picking one of the newest. There's a thread here that implied Dame Patience travelled to AU meeting with 24 aides.

Thread starter referenced Shakara Reporters as the source. Without checking other online newspapers (not that it mattered) the goons went to work.
Reuben  just posted (Abati's rejoinder) to Shakara reporters detailing only 32 aides went with (wait for it) GEJ. Dame Patience never took any aide to the AU meeting, an obvious fact from the onset.

Why are the goons not in that thread apologising for getting it so wrong. Come to  think of it they may be there (with egg on their faces) spinning their lies uncontrollably.

Why has truth become a foible affecting the majority on nairaland? Yes I've got the answer> "Tribalism". Posting an out and out lie to discredit Dame Patience shows their arguements carry no weight, value or intelligence, hence the resort to banalities.

These muppets are bereft of decent human ethos.
Do I think they will change in future?
Ans= Of course not. But guess what, you can't do anything to GEJ until 2019.

GEJ carry go!!!

Kobojunkie:
This has absolutely nothing to do with Greece or Europe. The economies there do not directly affect growth in Nigeria, This is evident from the fact that Nigeria has been recording record growth in the last 2 or so years, while during the same period, much of Europe has been experiencing really hard times. So please let us focus a bit more(turning off anime).
Maybe you should read a bit about global economic melt down and recession. What affects Europe and the rest of the world also affects Nigeria (you seem oblivious to this).  How can the melt down in the EU and America not affect our economy? Maybe you didn't know the impact on the Nigerian economy by the global downturn.
1. The demand for oil is only just picking up.2. Our capital inflows reduced 3. Pressure on exchange rate4.Diverstment by foreign investors etc.
For the uptenth time can I remind you no economy is insulated against global downturn.

I don't think your comparision there is academic as you claim considering
a. Both men you compare the sitting presidents to have never helpd the office in question
b. And even as leaders, they continue to have better records than those you elected (well, in the case of Obama, if we are to go with what a lot of the critics say).
How can they have better records when they're not doing the same jobs. How can you compare the ideas of an opposition to that of a president?

Please focus! Jonathan, knowing fully well, the state of the economy(He did not come in BLIND . . . he was at the top when the global economic problems became obvious), came out and declared himself the best candidate for the economic climate as it was. Why do you keep ignoring this?
How do I explain to you that no matter what GEJ does, the Nigerian economy is influenced by external factors. We only have one commondity to sell.

And honestly, we are not here to debate America and what your personal opinion is on the country. This thread on something entirely different . . . I am trying to understand how you even came up with the post I initially responded to cause that is what I consider OUT OF THIS WORLD . . . OUT OF WHACK!!
Gibberish!!!
Again, Jonathan has been in high office -- leadership for 12 straight years. No achievement.
What do you mean leadership for 12yrs?
One of the qualities of a good leader is that he/she does not wait until he is declared NUMBER ONE before he moves to change lead.
In Nigeria he'd be charged with fraud or worse still treason (ask Atiku)

Serious leaders don't wait till they are made CEOS before they start to lead right where they are. This man has been in high position for 12 years . . . and still no single achievement to his name. Why do you still suggest he is doing an outstanding job when even when interviewed back on December 23rd, he openly admitted he still had none.
It showed how humble he really is.

Kobojunkie:
HUH??
Both are doing a brilliant job compared to what people who NEVER GOT THE JOB would have done? Are you for real?
To say if those two had got the job they would have done better is purely academic. GEJ did not create the dismal economic climate we're in. Greece lost their govt so did Italy, the European union is about to implode. What magic wand were you expecting GEJ to wave?

Just so you know . . .  the complaint in America is largely that much of what Obama is doing is what McCain promised to do on the most part. From his handling of Iraq, and Afghanistan, to the Bail out . . .  All compare to what McCain promised during his campaign. Just saying . . .
The bolded above is childish and I wish you can re-read your post. How can the complaint about Obama be because he's doing what McCain would have done. I thought the complaint in America was to do with foreclosures and high unemployment?

Now back to Nigeria, again, Jonathan KNOWING FULLY WELL the state of the economy and that of the world, took the job. So what does it matter what the state of the economy is when he told us he was the right person in this economy for the job?
You must be leaving in a different planet if you don't know that the world economic recession is the worst since world war2. Even if GEJ and Obama were to incorporate the best economic policy, a lot still depend on other countries because every country is inter dependent on another.

And he has been in Government office for 12 the last 12 years  . . . the first 6 were when the world economy was mostly sound and yet he accomplished nothing even then. So, again, when is this good time you speak of?
He was part of govt but even you will aknowledge that he hasn't been ruling for 12yrs.

To me both are doing a brilliant job compared to what would have happened if Mc Cain and Buhari got in.

Worse, the last 12 years has not been right time for Jonathan Goodluck? Then when would have been a good time? When there was no problem of any kind to deal with . . . i,e when other, more proficient and capable leaders had solved all the problems?
Please tell me when in the past 50yrs world economy has been this bad?
