I've encounter this error many times, no need to do anything on your system because nothing is wrong with it, the problem is your internet device (Modem), since is a Wi-Fi, try connect another device like phone or another system to it and see if it will work.

My former phone was HTC ONE M7, I loved the phone so much, in fact it gave me all I needed on a smartphone and more.

Until I started noticing some purple colour on photos I snapped in dark environment.

Chai! the thing pain me so tail, I no fit cry but I continued using the phone (since am not a camera fan) until a friend of mine ( An iPhone fan) opted for it ( The guy is still using the phone till date).

I sold it and went for HTC ONE M8 which am still using till date.

Am still using HTC ONE M8 because I don't have any reason to change it, the phone no wan gree spoil and any software way I try put dey enter.
I've already ported HTC 10 Rom on my M8 ( Android 6.0.1, Sense 8, HTC 10 camera etc ).

The software on my M8 is the same as the one on HTC latest flagship (HTC 10).

Considering performance and ruggedity:
1. HTC (HTC ONE M8 is still strong and running latest Android OS, )

2. iPHONE ( Strong Hardware and great software performance algorithm )

3. LG & SONY

4. SAMSUNG ( Great hardware but mostly in theory, most of their phones are built to last for 2 years, that's why 60% of S5 screens are cracked)

5. MOTOROLA

6. CHINA PHONES (tecno, infinix, itel etc)

I've read this on cnet, is true and precautions must be taken to avoid fatal damage not only to the phone but to the user as well.

The first time I betrayed HTC and opted for a Samsung (Galaxy Note 1) I was taught a lesson I'll never forget in my life.
Am still rocking my HTC One M8 with HTC 10 ported Rom (Android 6.0.1 and Sense .

HTC is really "Quietly brilliant", the strongest and update friendly phone of all time!

I bought a N500 airtime at the middle of the night to make an important call two days ago, I mistakenly scratch off some pins and I called the customer care to help me load the airtime on my phone.
The first guy that picked my call, after plenty questions and answers he asked for the serial number and I dictated it to him, after some seconds he said the application to load the airtime was not available that I should call back in 10 minutes.
*Chai!!! I wan cry, after the plenty talk!!!

I called again after 10 minutes since I couldn't sleep, the lady that picked asked the same old questions and later said the same thing.
I waited for like 20 minutes and called again, a guy picked and asked the same questions and later told me the same thing but promised to load the airtime after 10 minutes. 10 mins, 20 mins, 30mins nothing happened.

With seriously annoyance I slept of, I woke up in the morning and entered the same loop of calling them and answering the same old questions.
To my greatest surprise, my line was blocked from calling the customer care, whenever I call, they will tell me they are busy and start playing advert music.
To confirm that my instinct was correct, I used my sister's phone to call and they picked immediately, *Chai, I wan mad!!!!!
The guy that picked started with the same trend, I waited for him to finish them spoke sense into his head because he also told me to call back in ten minutes.

Fast-forward to today, a guy picked and promised to load the credit but after listening carefully to me, he conceded that the application was not working but promised to open a ticket for me and a special unit would take care of it.
After about 5 minutes I received an SMS stating that my problem will be resolved by 2nd of this month.

I almost forgot to talk about one guy that asked me to leave Badagry to Km33 Badagry express way or go to their Alaba outlet for them solve the problem because they've sold their Badagry branch to a microfinance bank.

From the pictures, I don't think the desktop is needed because is doing nothing. Is neither regulating nor boosting the voltage or current.
Direct connection I believe would still work.

although am not a loyalist or fan boy to any product but currently I will be the last person to switch from Android to iOS because I love tweaking things. am still using my old HTC One M8 but with the latest OS (Android 6.0.1) and latest HTC Sense (Sense 8 ). I've changed my phone's OS more than 10 times this year, not just my OS but some other things not allowed on HTC am smoothly using them on my HTC.
These things iOS will not allow you do even if you jailbreak your phone.
A jail-broken iPhone = normal Android phone and nothing more than that, but a rooted and unlocked bootloader Android device is something out of mobile world.

Let me answer you with your response, C is a procedural language, according to you some extensions were added to it to make it Objective C thereby OOP, Good!

Am sure you know C++ and you're aware that is an OOP and c++ is parented by C. But you should also know that c++ has the primitive data types like int,float,double etc. same applicable to vb.net, c#, PHP etc. and all these languages are object oriented.
The yardstick for any language to be considered as OOP are :
1.polymorphism
2.Inheritance
3. Data encapsulation.

all these paradigms has Java, therefore Java is an object oriented programming Language.

Concerning Android using more memories than iOS, I think the main problem is the robustness of Android to run on different devices without any standard also, the people in charge of the software are not the same in charge of the hardware and Android gives free room for developers to do clean and dirty job unlike iOS with their plenty restrictions.
