Family / What You Need To Know About IVF (in Vitro Fertilization) by mohemos: 10:07pm On Dec 06, 2018 |
In Vitro Fertilization is an assisted reproductive technology (ART) commonly referred to as IVF. IVF is the process of fertilization by extracting eggs, retrieving a sperm sample, and then manually combining an egg and sperm in a laboratory dish. The embryo(s) is then transferred to the uterus. Other forms of ART include gamete intrafallopian transfer (GIFT) and zygote intrafallopian transfer (ZIFT). Why is IVF used? IVF can be used to treat infertility in the following patients: >>Blocked or damaged fallopian tubes >>Male factor infertility including decreased sperm count or sperm motility >>Women with ovulation disorders, premature ovarian failure, uterine fibroids >>Women who have had their fallopian tubes removed >>Individuals with a genetic disorder >>Unexplained infertility What is involved with in vitro fertilization? There are five basic steps in the IVF and embryo transfer process: Step 1: Fertility medications are prescribed to stimulate egg production. Multiple eggs are desired because some eggs will not develop or fertilize after retrieval. A transvaginal ultrasound is used to examine the ovaries, and blood test samples are taken to check hormone levels. Step 2: Eggs are retrieved through a minor surgical procedure that uses ultrasound imaging to guide a hollow needle through the pelvic cavity to remove the eggs. Medication is provided to reduce and remove potential discomfort. Step 3: The male is asked to produce a sample of sperm, which is prepared for combining with the eggs. Step 4: In a process called insemination, the sperm and eggs are mixed together and stored in a laboratory dish to encourage fertilization. In some cases where there is a lower probability of fertilization, intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) may be used. Through this procedure, a single sperm is injected directly into the egg in an attempt to achieve fertilization. The eggs are monitored to confirm that fertilization and cell division are taking place. Once this occurs, the fertilized eggs are considered embryos. Step 5: The embryos are usually transferred into the woman’s uterus three to five days following egg retrieval and fertilization. A catheter or small tube is inserted into the uterus to transfer the embryos. This procedure is painless for most women, although some may experience mild cramping. If the procedure is successful, implantation typically occurs around six to ten days following egg retrieval. Programming / Re: Please how Do I Learn Programming Without Feeling Sleepy Or Tired? by mohemos: 1:12am On Sep 16, 2018 |
I can relate perfectly, and your problem is not because you're lazy or tired, your problem is because you're not seeing results as expected thereby it becomes boring and sleep starts creeping in.... Now the question is, why aren't you getting expected results? The answer is because you're not learning things at your level.... In a nutshell, the drug to your problem is........ Start programming by learning things that are very simple then upgrade gradually.... DO NOT RUSH IT ELSE PROGRAMMING WOULD BECOME YOUR SLEEPING PILL.... 14 Likes 1 Share |

Health / Re: "We Are Both AS Genotype And We Don't Consider Break-Up As An Option" by mohemos: 7:09pm On Jul 15, 2018 |
Many are chanting leave him, breakup, leave him as if they've done it before. As the saying goes, "It's easier said than done". However, the financial, emotional and physical requirements of parenting an SS is far more than you can imagine, that aside, just imagine the feeling of seeing your child going through severe pain and you can do absolutely nothing about it. Lastly, pain is known to destroy even the so called strongest love, when the time comes and everything turns upsidedown, either you or your husband would have to sacrifice your career or job to stay with the baby... The regrets, guilt, pains... could lead to either of you to even file a divorce. The truth is, I'll never allow my child to marry a carrier if he/she is a carrier. Sorry to say this, I think if you love him so much, and really don't want to see him going through the hardest of time, you should let him go. I know it's not easy, but I sincerely wish we have another fair option. I pray you find another that loves you and you also love even more. Good luck dear. 3 Likes |

Programming / Re: Which Is Better For Web Applications? PHP Or Asp.net by mohemos: 6:09pm On Jun 12, 2018 |
gimakon: I would have forgiven you if you didn't imply to be a programmer, however I won't punish you *Just kidding* It's a big misconception that PHP is not secure and I know exactly where it all started.... Allow me to give you an example; You remember in those days when we browse with cheat, which network has the highest number of cheat flying around ? Yes! you're correct, MTN has 2x other networks cheat, why ? Was it because other networks were more secure ? NO! It was simply because MTN had many internet users than other networks thereby attracted more hacker... Now to the subject matter, PHP is serving more than half of websites running on internet, where do you think the hackers would go ? Another problem with PHP is the baby Programmers, PHP is a goto language for newbies because of it simplicity and ease of deployment on the web unlike other languages. Newbies don't care so much about security they just want to see their program running (that's typical me when I started), would you fault PHP because it was used wrongly ? There's no programming language app that cannot be hacked, that's why most companies love their developers to use frameworks written by professional and ASP.NET is an example of such a framework, so the arguement should not be PHP vs ASP.NET but Laravel, Yii, Codeigniter, cakePHP.... vs ASP.NET because ASP.net is not a programming language but a framework. A nice comparison would be C# or VB.net vs PHP..... You think you've built a nice secured app using ASP.net because the developer of ASP.net had done the job for you same is applicable to Laravel, Django, ruby on rails, GWT..... programmers. A sweet example is bootstrap, someone that used bootstrap would say I've built a responsive website and in reality he didn't write a single line of CSS code.... Who made the website responsive ? Twitter bootstrap did and not you *smiles* Now let me ask asp.net users, what did you do to make your website more secure than PHP programmers ? 4 Likes |
Programming / Re: Which Is Better For Web Applications? PHP Or Asp.net by mohemos: 10:48am On Jun 11, 2018 |
Cooldude68: From your comment, it's obvious you're a programming language lover boy and you've restricted yourself to some particular type of projects which in my opinion is bad for the fast growing programming world. I started with c++, then switched to Java, then used VB.net for some school projects before I switched back to java until I realised PHP was doing better on web than java applet then I switched to php...... There was a time I used prolog for a project since it was the requirement.... sincerely I can't remember the number of programming languages I've used; When I worked on a sample token on ethereum, I used solidarity which I've never known to be a programming language until I had to work on the token. My dear, in the programming world there's nothing like best programming language, Programmers are super dynamic in selecting programming languages because of the nature of their job. I switched to python last year December because I had to work on a Machine learning project, few months back I was working on node.js but am currently working on an ancient PHP templating engine (Smarty) because that's what my current project requires..... The bottom line is that, even though I switch 101 programming languages, my programming techniques is still the same.... I remember in those days when I was working heavily on c++ and java, I'll copy a Java control structure and past it in c++ and vice versa... I currently learn a new programming language within a week, because the difference between programming languages are mostly their syntax... An object oriented programming language is similar to other object oriented languages, A procedural language is procedural. You made mention of variable scope, citing java and vb; My dear variable scope is not a weighty matter when comparing programming languages... and you also mentioned banks rejecting a php based project; seriouly this does not make any sense to me, Your Facebook, Wikipedia, yahoo, wordpress, Flickr, Tumblr.... are currently running on PHP and I don't think you'll tell me these Apps are not secure. I just came back to PHP some few months back, I even forgot that "i" is for minutes and not "m" in PHP date() function, check my recent questions on Stackoverflow and you'll see how I've quickly forgotten PHP syntax... A good programmer is good because of his techniques or sense of algorithm not because of a programming language. As spanner, pliers, saw, screwdriver... are tools to a mechanic so are programming languages to a programmer. 2 Likes |
Programming / Re: The Best Programming Language Is... by mohemos: 1:26am On Jun 11, 2018 |
There's absolutely nothing like best programming language as Programming languages are just tools used for accomplishing a given task... Sincerely I'll need to think deeply to fetch all the programming languages I've learnt in the course of getting a project delivered. I started with c++ and before you know it, I switched to Java then c++ again, then I started web with Java applet then switched to PHP, JavaScript, C#........ there was even a time I learnt Prolog for a crazy project then, I started python December last year because of a ML project and I love python, however am currently working with one ancient PHP templating engineering (smarty) as that's my current project requirement. When I wanted to dive into blockchain, I was required to learn GO, however I used solidity to build my sample token on ethereum. In my view, I think there's nothing like best programming language; It's just like saying what's the best tool used by Mechanic or carpenter. All programming languages have there strength and weaknesses based on the project you're working on, although on web, PHP7+JAVASCRIPT+MYSQL combo currently has a special place in my heart. |
Programming / Re: Which Is Better For Web Applications? PHP Or Asp.net by mohemos: 12:56am On Jun 11, 2018 |
Cooldude68: Your statement is misleading, I don't know how long I'll continue saying this, "No programming language is more secure or less secure", For God sake, programming language is just a tool, and security is a feature that depends strictly on the artisan's logic. How can you say ASP.NET is far better ? ASP is more suited for large scale? Where's your statistics ? You might give us some examples, the last time I checked, PHP is still the leading programming language powering most websites and applications running on the web. Python is currently doing a great job and is attracting more Programmer because of its simplicity and consistency, Machine language friendliness..... A good programmer can never be bad because he switched to another programming language neither can a bad programmer be good by changing a programming language. Programming languages are like spanner, screwdriver, pliers..... End products depend on the skill of the user. 5 Likes |
Religion / Re: Why Do Atheists Desist From Answering This Question ? by mohemos: 1:32pm On Feb 23, 2018 |
hopefulLandlord: Take a look at this germane question: Where did males and females actually come from? What is the evolutionary origin of sex? How could nature evolve a female member of a species that produces eggs and is internally equipped to nourish a growing embryo, while at the same time evolving a male member that produces motile sperm cells? And, further, how is it that these gametes (eggs and sperm) conveniently “evolved” so that they each contain half the normal chromosome number of somatic (body) cells? Modified: I just realised you're not learned in evolution theory, so the question is not for you. Am sorry for bothering you. 2 Likes |
Religion / Why Do Atheists Desist From Answering This Question ? by mohemos: 1:01pm On Feb 23, 2018 |
If, as evolutionists have argued, there is a materialistic answer for everything, then these questions should be answered: How exactly did we arrive at two separate genders, each with its own physiology? Why sex? Is sex the product of a historical accident or the product of an intelligent Creator? Modified: How could nature evolve a female member of a species that produces eggs and is internally equipped to nourish a growing embryo, while at the same time evolving a male member that produces motile sperm cells? And, further, how is it that these gametes (eggs and sperm) conveniently “evolved” so that they each contain half the normal chromosome number of somatic (body) cells? 5 Likes |
