I think we can all agree that there is no one single approach to passing IELTS writing.
Follow what makes sense to you and try to ensure you have an understanding of the marking scheme is what I will recommend.

God's best to all those awaiting their results and to those about to write or waiting on their EORs.

Shalom.

No, it isn't provided. Just for your own practice.

zannie:
Are the transcripts of the audio file provided during the exam too? Thanks.

Listening tips.

Form the habit of listening attentively.
The 1st Audio is usually easy and the answers are usually straight forward but from the 2nd audio sometimes they might talk about something else before they talk about the real answer so you have to be attentive to ensure you don't miss out on the real answer.

For those answers that usually require option A to F l, instead of looking for the answers while listening just write what they said about it down at that moment. After you are done in the real exam you have 10 minutes to copy down your answers and you can use this to select your answers.

Another tip is to look at the transcripts of the audio file so you can see exactly what parts the answers are from and in subsequent tests improve on it.

You can email me and we can speak on the phone for further help if you need it.

All the best.

Please go for a re-mark.
I wrote on 27/10 with similar results
LWRS: 9, 6.5, 8.5, 7.5
I applied last Monday and I am hopeful for an upgrade.
I am also passively preparing to retake the exam should the re-mark not pan out.

Wishing you all the best.

Speaking of which please can anyone help with the paid Liz videos?

meelola007:
Silent observer here. I have been so sad about my first IELTS but this thread has been encouraging.

LWRS - 9, 6.5, 8.5, 8
Hubby, ,7.5, 6.5, 8, 7

Our score is currently 436.
We were both advised to acquire a masters degree but that will take a long time.
Is there any other way we can increase our scores.

P.S I am scheduled to re-writes ielts in Dec.

Thanks.

Please has anyone applied for re-mark with British Council recently?
How long did it take?
Thanks
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/Federal Skilled Workers Program- Connect Here Part 5 by mojohnny(m): 11:26am On Nov 12, 2018
Thank you
I am going to wait for it to return.
DrMrsCK:
But note that for plab, they require your latest IELTS results. So if you apply for a remark and book for another, if the remark comes out better than the latest attempt, you wont be able to use the remark. So think about it well. Either you wait for the remark and write another or write another and forget about the remark

Guys I must say I love the positivity, support and energy on this thread.
I am not looking into Canadian PR but I stumbled on this thread while searching Nairaland for opinions on remarking my IELTS.
I took the IELTS for the first time at British Council on 27/10/18 with Results LRWS - 9,8.5,6.5, 7.5 and I need at least a 7 in writing for PLAB.

I am going to request for a re-mark tomorrow though as I believe in the amount of preparation I put into the writing tasks and also because the exam went pretty well IMO.
I know it's very risky as a lot of people have advised against it and told me just to go and re-write.
Also I am considering re-marking my Speaking as well to increase my chances of getting a refund should incase the writing not pull through..
What do you guys think?
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 13 by mojohnny(m): 7:08am On Aug 09, 2017
I will investigate more on the availability for international students.
And yes, I have 2 undergraduate degrees in line with the course.

Thanks to everyone that helped.
My sister got her F1 8:30am appointment this morning.
It was her first try.

From the info she gave me she was asked why her school, they asked about her siblings and asked why she wanted to do an MBA when her B.Sc was in the sciences and also they asked about who was sponsoring her.
And voila.
White Paper .

I pray you all get your miracles soon.

She got into Texas A and M University.
She applied there because the requirements aren't exactly hard to meet I.e. They didn't require Toefl or GRE.
Fenix:
Hi!

I think your sister should be ABSOLUTELY clear on why she only applied to one school. Perhaps she could state that she considered other schools but felt that this was the only one that met her requirements. She should be clear on what her requirements were.

Are you comfortable saying what school she got into or the ranking of the school? The reason I ask is my friend was also in the same situation but she got her visa approved last month. She only applied to Harvard and she got in. She said she wasn't even asked why Harvard. Apparently it is self-evident. If your sister got into a top school like that, it could also influence the VO.

All the best to her and God bless!

Just got back 2 9ja 2day.
Kenya Airways is very Okay.
Flew them to and fro.
You will enjoy your experience that I can assure you.
Nairobi airport is okay as well. Much better than MMIA.
Just ensure that the stopover in Nairobi isn't too long as the wait can get quite frustrating if it's long.

hello house uh has gone to sa via kenyan airways as that seem to be the cheapest for now. need to know if the experience was aite

If you are in Joburg I would recommend you visit Gold reef city(it's an amusement park and they have amazing rides of you are a thrill seeker). I was there last Saturday and it was fun. Just ensure that the day you go isn't a public holiday cos last Saturday was heritage day and the place was full to the brim and the queues for the rides were really long!!!!

For those waiting on their Visas I have come to realise that there seems to be varying processing times even for the same kind of Visa. I and 6 of my friends applied for a Visitors visa and I noticed that some got theirs in 8 working days, Mine and 2 others took 9 working days, another took 15 working days and the last persons own took 20+ working days but we all got our Visas.
We were all going for the same program and we submitted the same documents (except bank statements).
So my advise for those waiting is that they should keep waiting.
And for those intending to apply please do so well in advance of your intended travel date so as not to be disappointed. Cheers

Hi, a friend applied in Lagos on the 30th of August and she is still waiting on her visa. I don't know why the whole process seems to be taking longer than the 2 weeks mine took.
You can try calling the embassy to ask why.

iambiola:
