I think there is a reason why you can pray and work hard for something and never get it.

Perhaps, you could cause a lot of damage if you are allowed to have what you have been praying and working hard for.

Just imagine how Nigeria would have been today if in 2015 Goodluck Jonathan had won the presidential election or canceled the election due to irregularities.

There would have been riots or even targeted killings in a few places just like in 2011 presidential election but the economy would have been better today, more jobs would have been created not lost, some of the companies that closed shops could have been operating and even expanding, boko haram and the bandits wahala would have been dealt with, we wouldn't have been this divided as a people.

Perhaps, God allowed President Buhari to win the presidential election in 2015 just because of the South East that had the worst federal roads in Nigeria that President Buhari's government has been working on and of course the 2nd Niger Bridge plus the closure and rehabilitation of the Enugu International Airport that have been given favorable attention even though the region is anti APC. As they say, God works in mysterious ways.

So, when next you pray and work hard for something and it appears you won't ever get it just relax because God may have seen the pain and damage your mistakes, blunders and/or deliberate actions would have caused if you were allowed to get that which you desperately seek, want and desire.

Imagine for a minute that you are a trained soldier.

In fact, a Lieutenant.

You have a wife and two kids.

Now, imagine that during the quarterly rotation, you were sent to Bornu to fight insurgence (Boko Haram)

On this fateful day, as you were moving with your platoon.

There was an ambush.

Gun fire ensured.

You shot with all you’ve got.
You know that you have a slim chance of surviving the attack.

As you were running out of ammo, you called john, your buddy, for fresh supply.

No response.

You glanced and saw John’s head split into two halves.
By your left is Barry, his torso turn and one of his arm lying 10 ft away.

With nothing to fight with, you made a run for it and took a deep dive into the abondoned crater while bullets were getting fired at you.

You passed out

When you woke, you saw yourself in the hospital.

The doctor came in.

“Officer, you are awake, we did an emergency surgery. We had to amputate you”

We are sorry.

You then asked.

‘What of my team mates ?”

“Well, you lost 18 men and 2 survivors”, the doctor replied. “You and Barry.

Barry is still in intensive care.”

Now, 3 months later, at the defence headquarters.

Your commanding officer, General Gida told you. “You are back, lieutenant ”

“Good news!

We rounded up all the terrorist that attacked your platoon after in another battle confrontation.”

They are now in rehabilitation center.

“Can I see them?” you asked

‘Sure!’

You got wheeled to the center.

They opened the door.

And yes.

‘There they are!’

Across the hall, Young men in white flowing gowns were eating fried and Jellof rice with multiple chicken parts.
Some were drinking wine.

Laughter filled the air.
Having a ball.

You were told they will soon be taken abroad on scholarship.

Government sponsored.

As you were getting back to the generals office.

Just outisde the defence headquarters gate, you saw the wives of your team, now widowed, as they agitate with high voices and placards.

“We have been abandoned!”
“Pay us our husbands benefits!”
“We are hungry”

Just imagine all that.

Very foolish statement declaring yourself president-elect. You want to use sympathy to make yourself president knowing this will evoke unrest in your country? Instead of you to go back to the books and fight for 2025 like George Weah of Liberia did, you want power now now. Because majority of the youth and your music fans support you doesn't mean you will depose a seasoned politician with all the government/armed forces support in just one contest. Now, you just made things worse for yourself, by declaring yourself president-elect. Something Atiku could not even do when he contested against Buhari. Social media is really deceiving alot of people that they can become powerful because of support and followership. Just like some group of Nigerians believe Aisha Yeshufu or Falz will become president in 2023.
