Good day everyone,
I submitted Dr. Walter's insurance, but the embassy did not accept it. I am instructed to get incoming insurance, and the insurance I submitted is a travel insurance. Please what insurance can I get to submit either from Nigeria or Germany? Latest today. Thanks in advance |

UPDATE: A new appointment was issued by the embassy He re-booked an appointment by applying on the portal and then sent an email together with the new reference number and the old reference number. In the email, he explained the situation, and attached the block amount confirmation. Two days later, He was issued a new appointment date with the new reference he had booked. NEVER go to the embassy with an incomplete document. MolecularSponge: My friend went for her interview in January, her block account was not confirm at that time. So he went with the payslip of the transaction. He showed Mr. Paulinus and he was cleared. However, the visa officer, refuse to interview him, because the block account was not ready. He pleaded that he will send it as soon as it is confirmed but didn’t work. The following day he got the block account confirmation and he send it to them. Now, they´re asking him to re-apply. Is he going to wait for two years again? |

1. All affidavit is obtained from court, so you must go to court to get it 2. This is normally obtained from court 3. Yes, the lawyer will interpret the question to them and expect them to respond, while he write there response on the letter 4. She can do affidavit any where in Nigeria Aminattah: Hello Fam. Please I need help here. Thank you. 1. "Affidavit of consent of the parents for the child". Is this supposed to be a written consent letter by the child's parents or the parents go to court to swear/declare it? 2. "Illiterate jurat". Is this gotten from the court? 3. If ILLITERATE JURAT is declared, does that mean the lawyer will not ask my mum to fill the verification form? Or should I put my cousin on standby to help her fill the form? 4. My mum lives in kogi state but will be coming to Abuja for checkups. Can she do the court affidavits in Abuja or she MUST do it in kogi state? |

It is not too a big deal. If your mum could only write the name of your spouse and your name, it should be fine. To be on the save side, discuss with the lawyer and ask if everyhing is fine...Best of luck and dont worry much, just discuss with the lawyer EngrOsax: Hello fam, my lawyer came for verification today but my mum couldn't fill her form and I wasn't allowed to fill for her because according to the lawyer we were supposed to do illetrate jurat for her in the process of the affidavit since she's the deponent or she has to fill for herself which she couldn't coz she can't read and write. Pls do anybody know what would be the report from the embassy? |

I went to my city office to enquire about this when I wanted to register my marriage, I realize that it will just change my status from single to married and wont give my wife visa. Firstly, I was asked to submit original marriage certificate, and it will be with them for atleast 6 months The fee vary between city, in my city it is 1300 euro I will suggest you wait for German embassy. For more enquiry you can message me Aminattah: Hello. My hubby is trying to register our marriage in his city in Germany. The city registry told him to submit some documents e.g our wedding certificate, passport data page etc and to fill the verification forms (same type of form that lagos embassy issues for reunion verification). He was also told that he will pay verification fee and they will contact lagos embassy to send a lawyer for the verification here in Nigeria. I understand this is the same verification process I would undergo after my visa interview later in the year. Someone once posted here that registering his marriage in his German city made the visa process faster for his wife and kids in Nigeria, that's why we want to try it. My question is; 1. Will I be made to pay N150k for another verification or I can simply present the evidence/certificate of verification from my husband's city (it should be ready before our visa appointment date)? 2. Does anyone have an idea of how much it will cost him (the city office has not told him the fee yet. His appointment is next month)? We need to be financially ready. 3. Has anyone done this? Care to share? Thank you. |

When presenting something like this endeavour to tell us the ko kko. This is why information on Nairaland is not applicable because people only present surface story Ganesass: Why do you feel you're entitled to that piece of information? |

Your story is very inspiring but I think there is something else you are not telling us. You got your citizenship in like 3 years. This amazing. Is your spouse a German or an EU citizen? If your spouse is a German citizen of course it will be easier Keinbock: Step by Step on how I obtained my family reunion visa.
1. Got married in the church 07.10.2017 ( so my church marriage certificate was what i used to process my visa) 2. November 2017, I enrolled in german language school in lagos . 3. December 2017 ( I took the A1 exams in Goethe institute Lagos).
4. After the result came out, I started looking for appointment. I noticed that they are ususally no available appointments during the day. So i tried at midnight and i got one for 3.01.2018 Before going for your appointment, make sure you have all the required documents and 2 to 3 photocopies of each document. Appear at least 30-40 minutes before your appointment.
The visa officer might ask some questions in German. In my own case, I was asked my name,my address and the name of my husband. Don't freak out, they are jsut basic questions.
5. A week after my appointment, my lawyer contacted me and started the investigation. He went to my family house, he visited the place i was staying in Lagos, my primary school, secondary school, university, the church where i wedded and the hospital where i was born.
6. Feb. 2018. I got an email, that I should submit my passport to the embassy, but the passport should bear the last name of my husband. 7. This process took about 3 weeks. 8. 03.03.2018, I left Nigeria for Germany.
LIFE IN GERMANY. 1. After I moved to Germany, I added myself on a waiting list for a language course. 2. June 2018 I started my german course and by dec.2018, I wrote the B1 exams. (by oct 2018, I got a 450 euro job which lasted 3 months) 3. Jan.2019 I started my B2 and by sept. 2019, I wrote C1 exams and passed it. 4. With my C1 result and the my translated university certificate, I got a job in jan. 2020 in the finance sector.
5. March 2021, I applied for German citizenship and by July 2021, I got my german citizenship. Three years after i migrated to germany.
My story might be uncommon, but here is how i achieved it. I researched extensively , as i didnt have any guide. I put the horse before the cart. Learn German as much as possible. The possibility of getting a good job is higher, when you have the german C1 certificate, you can get high paying jobs and your chances of getting german citizenship will higher.
Feel free to ask me any question |

Thanks for the clearification, I think there is level to this things... My friend has a permanent residence permit with a work salary of 45K per annum. They are still on the queue waiting for appintment since December 2020. In my opinion, dont ask for the refund of verification fee, normally it was supposed to given to the law firm that will visit you to verified your marriage and document. Since they didnt come to verified your marriage probably because it existed before your husband traveled, they might independently be verifying your documents. Beside, it is there duty to refund you if it is not required. Biggybee: Thank you... But No sir/ma. My husband is NOT a DAAD scholar.
The only thing we did was we used the DAAD method. A spouse of a DAAD scholar here was gracious enough to tell me what the content of the letter they take to the embassy was. (SHOUT OUT TO YOU MA.. THANKS!!!)
My spouse then approached the HR at his office to give us a letter to the embassy.
They wrote a letter stating his name, his work capacity, how much he earns and that he is able to put me under his insurance , sustain me and put me in a language school over there. They also added that they would want me to join him by January 2022.
All of this was typed on a letter in deutsch with their own letterhead which we mailed the embassy with (this got us a date for interview). I also took a hard copy of same letter to the embassy for my interview, even though it wasn't requested(the interviewer was quite rude), i made sure i dropped it off.
I don't know how helpful this is but please if your SPOUSE ain't a scholar but works. PLEASE LET YOUR SPOUSE TRY AND APPROACH THE HR AT HIS WORKPLACE FOR A LETTER.
I don't think the marriage date affected verification though... Afterall, going through the thread has shown that marriage prior travel didn't stop people from the long wait or verification. I think since the letter from my spouse's workplace already called me his wife, they just agreed that it was.
Thanks again sir/ma.
Sidenote: Now that you bring up the aspect of no verification, can i ask for a refund? Cos i paid the 150k for verification o. Money scarce |
