The real issue is expectations on both host and guest.
If either party doesn't clearly state their expectations for this extended stay then accusations of abuse will arise. Don't presume..it makes life easier.

We all differ in what we can tolerate and in our hygiene level. Saying ppl should treat other peoples homes as your own...hmmm. Some ppl in their own homes dont clean up after themselves, drop dishes unwashed in the sink. It maybe that the way they grew up its the younger one that cleans up after the older regardless of who is the host.

Being good friends or part of the same family doesn't mean you can live together comfortably for extended periods. The way each person lives differs. Some are messy and have no issues with it others are neat freaks and cant concentrate till the house is clean.
Exactly. On point. Expectations and different people. Neat freaks, messy people. Some can have 20 strangers, some like me struggle with just one. know ur host and guest. Wish I just knew how to highlight. Lol

Hi Everyone.
I'm an ardent reader Nairaland though yet to sign up. (Using my friend's platform right now)
Wanted to share my story and encourage someone who might have read several stories here and is afraid to take the leap and apply.
My husband lives in Canada and a permanent resident too. He applied to sponsor me for a permanent residence in January and we're yet to hear from them. We decided to try the TRV to see if I could visit him while waiting for the PR. I read several comments on different chat rooms that were so discouraging on how people were refused cos they already applied, how I 'll likely be refused cos it's a new passport (that is never travelled). Infact, when I got the mail that my passport had been couriered, most people thought it was a NO. Cos from what I read, I should have been asked for medicals first.
But I encouraged myself with the fact that I had done medicals with the previous test.

Yesterday, I got my passport back. I was granted multiple entries for 5years.
I didn't use any agent. Just went to the office submitted the documents. No huge bank statements. Just letter from my workplace and pay slips. I thank God.
Be encouraged!
Miracles still happen!!!

@ ajujuju2 amen, thanks a bunch. It was even because of the ivf I took flight ooooo. I don't believe those children might make it at 32 at the hospital back home. I didn't want to hear stories that touches the heart. As in I was just too scared. I would pay my Dr fee but I know we would be able to work something out with the hospital on the nicu,no money fit buy pikin. Have done 2 ivf,I had to just give myself brain. My prayers are that they don't stay more than 3-4 weeks maximum, they are doing good anyway. No complications&I believe there would be no complications, just one is on oxygen and they wod soon take it off. Believing God for the best for them,I just didn't trust my Nigeria hospital&u know general hospital can't be trusted with ivf even though they are sometimes good.
God that has started his work would complete it
Had mine @ 33 weeks and got discharged after 10days. Was initially on oxygen and phototherapy. I just thank God for your miracle twon babies. #hugs#

[quote author=blaize777 post=45601421]Hello house .thank God my princess arrived yesterday tru a C-SECTION sadly she is not too strong weight 2kg,e/quote]

Congratulations, love.
1st thing, RELAX!! It was one of the hardest advice I had to take but that's really what u need to do.
Baby was in d NICU for about 9 days. Total bill which included NICU, neonatologists, constant labs, my extra stay(had complications, hence c/s by 34weeks), Dr, was all about 17k. WHMC. 2013. Will find d receipts later and post d breakdown.
Most of what I did most mornings, was make calls asking for self pay discounts when I got any new bill, some I got up to 70% discounts and some less.
Just Thank God baby is fine. Mine is now a big, cute madam, it's hard to imagine she was 1.9kg then..
She can be discharged before she's 2.5kg, it just depends on how She is responding, how active and how she feeds.

@abekeofin Congratulations on the birth of your twin girls. They are blessed in Jesus name.
A twin mama after saying congratulations said the vigilante is real grin ha so true my darling cheesy
Now you also need to take care of yourself abeg.take your medications as prescribed unfailingly because at the hospital the nurses will be giving you like clock work while at home you tend to focus more on babies and forget about you smiley don't o because the midnight shakes nearly landed me in ER o.
Kisses and hugs to you and princesses cheesy
Hmmm. A singleton mom but d midnight shakes were real. Kai. Alone in d US. Still remember it and I shiver.

Please check with Delta. They didn't allow a lady on my flight back to Naija, they said she needed to get a returnbticket for her son since he's American, hmmm we all had to contribute our remaining change for her cos she was really short of cash...please confirm withbthem no harm doing so...lol dear!
I used Delta. It was a one way ticket with Naija Visa. Funny thing is, I called them like 3 times and the different agents said I needed to get a return ticket for baby since it's Naija Visa on an American passport. I boned and got to the counter and finally paid for a one way ticket at IAH, I guess it depends on the agent.

Lemme vouch for her a little! When I got Preggy I was torn btw OKC, Dallas and MD UNTILL I came here to discover about cheaper packages in Houston n after reading people stories with their host I made up my mind to stay solo... so that could be her case n just maybe she is confused!! Even as I've concluded arrangement n daycare service in Houston if I see a cheap package in my initial place I planned I will port and rent an apartment! So let's give her d benefit of doubt.. Meanwhile my scan showed I have cyst in my left ovary n I'm having minor pains d doc is positive but am freaking out n dr Google isn't helping at all
.

Most times it disappears, without anything being done to it. You can take paracetamol if the pain is intense.
