ogboni76: @justwise...thanks for this flow of informations, I am at a confused state here bro and I need your professional advice, I have an EX in Dubai, we just started talking again few weeks ago and we are planning to get back together, she has lived and worked in dubai for more than 3yrs now,, the issue now is that sje said something yesterday about me coming to dubai to live and work, she said something about the fiancee visa and we will be living together as couples, even asked me to send the info page of my International passport and a passport picture(sent) now she said I should raise 300k in a week that the visa and processing costs more than 600k but she will support.. Am kinda confused here, I don't know how true her claims are, pls bro ..how true is the fiance visa thing and how easy is it to get, secondly is it as expensive as she claims? I am available on whatsapp..let me know if u need my contacts Lol. There is nothing I won't see in this nairaland There is nothing like Fiancee visa. Some hotels don't even allow unmarried couples stay together in the same room. Because Dubai allows so many things happen and the officials turn a blind eye to many things (because they want more white foreigners), many people tend to forget that the U.A.E is still an Islamic state. Seems like your babe is in need of money badly . Ask her to send you an official government link for more information. |

jollyrogers: I got it tru an agent, and not the employer, actually was referred by my brother who goes for biz in Dubai, said he knows him very well moreover he is d one paying so I believe its genuine Just be careful. People have been scammed by their own blood relatives not to talk of a friend. What assurance do you have that the salary will be that range? what if you come and its 800$ and not 1,500$ are you willing to accept that? 800$ is less than 3000 Dirhams! are you willing to work for that kind of salary? Don't get carried away by the idea of free accommodation and transportation because many times the accommodation is terrible. |

do u have anyone that does enjas for 3k or less per page? Be very wary when allowing people stamp your original certificates. Its the only one you have and many countries will reject it. They reject laminated certificates not to now talk about stamping things on them. Saudi Arabia is not worth it. |

Gooci: Hello house.... Pls I need a urgent response. Av been asking for how to go about dubai taxi for som times now. I had to option to choose either driving or security job. Like I said on this thread before, a friend of mine is already there since december, undergoing the driving school, he's about to do parking test and final road test. So far, he has spent up to 200k on feeding, accommodation nd driving skool etc There would be a huge pressure on me to pass this training skool from home, cuz I will still be dependent on them @ home for money. I am thinking of switching to security so that I can start work immediately wen I get to dubai.. Mayb later wen m settled nd used to the system, I can now do d training skool on my own with less of pressure on me.
Or wot do you guys think @justie4jesu @monchouchou @everyone
Or I should jst head for d driving str8 away... Hmn Gooci, sorry but none of us can make that decision for you. The thing is this, taxi drivers earn more than security guards as the average take home pay for most drivers is about 5k while most security guards earn at most about 2k. But then again, accommodation and feeding is usually provided for security guards while I believe taxi drivers have to fend for themselves. As I am sure you have discovered on this thread, accommodation is usually a big headache in Dubai so thats a big advantage for security guards (regardless of how bad their accommodation usually is) Then again, as far as I am concerned, 200k is very small when it comes to getting a driving license. DrDre1 wasn't exaggerating when he said you will likely spend more than that….. Just take your time and make sure you are fully prepared before making a decision. Dubai is not a place you want to run out of cash in. I wish you the best |

@monchou, how easy was your 3parking test For every test you fail you have to take additional classes (which you pay for) and then retake the test which you also pay for. That's why people feel some schools deliberately fail their students to milk more money from them. My parking test was a breeze. My examiner was in a hurry so she practically did it for me sef (that's God at work my dear) |

Is the Dubai shopping festival on already and what's the effect on prices?. Well the festival started on the 2nd and will end on the 2nd of February. Many stores are having nice sales so shopping in the malls is a good idea as you get good quality products for great prices. You can also shop in deira and around Karama but you have to be careful so you get good quality products |

I mean any trusted site you know or a reliable agent please...
Thanks. Start by reading this thread from beginning or atleast from the middle. I don't know any reliable agent. Most are fraudulent. Go online and contact a reliable tour agency in dubai to assist u in getting a visit visa and come down and search for a job yourself. For job sites u can use bayt.com monstergulf.com and dubbizle.com but be careful with dubbizle as there are a lot of fraudulent people there as well. Good luck |

abuyuunus: Is it also true that there are job consultants in dubai that help people look for job.
That the more money i pay to the consultant the higher the salary one would be collecting.
I also need clarifications on this. Lol, nawa o. They have really prepared a nice format to use in scamming you. There are job consultants everywhere in the world but paying for a job is illegal. They will only take your money and enrich themselves or at most get you a job as a cleaner or security guard. Don't waste your money. Please read this thread from beginning or from the middle. All these questions have been answered repeatedly. We have advised against paying ANYONE or any job site or any company for a job as it never ends well. |

abuyuunus: Thank you for the answers provided.
He said the reason he prefer Ajman to dubai is that some bad people usually steal other people's passport in dubai.
That once i load my bus card or something that i can go anywhere.
Do you think it is advisable to stay in the said Ajman? Funny but I feel Ajman is a hub for scammers partly because the police and immigration authorities focus so much on dubai and hardly raid those sides. You passport can get stolen even if you stay on the moon unless you are very careful. It's not by staying in one place or another. Ajman is about 1 hr away from Dubai. Also, as a job seeker you need to network. Even though many of our fellow Nigerians are fraudulent and looking for how to scam you, you will still meet some good people who can help you |

justwise: Was just wondering why people don't travel through student visa like other EU or Western countries, too expensive to study in Dubai or Qatar? Or may be student visa holders are restricted from doing certain things. Schooling in the middle east is very expensive. Why spend all that money here for a degree when they even prefer employing people with British or American degrees? Also, students are not allowed to work freely. |

abuyuunus: Thanks Justi and monchouchou.
Please forgive me for asking too much questions:
What are the variety of foods that one can carry along while travelling for those intending to cook themselves when they get to uae so as to save money before getting a job?
Is it advisable for someone searching for job to stay in ajman instead of dubai?
I hope to hear from you.
Thanks Red oil is strictly not allowed. I think every other food stuff is allowed but you just have to package it well and be ready to pay those customs people so they don't waste your time. When I say package I mean, for E. G smoked fish dry and pour coffee into it to reduce the smell. Now for the red oil issue if u freeze it well in a flask u might be able to sneak it past them. If you are going to search for a job in Dubai please make sure u reside in dubai. You will save yourself alot of money in terms of transportation and also time commuting from one emirate to the other. |

abuyuunus: Pls if one is called for interview, what is the most recommended type of dress to wear.?
Is it to dress in suit
or
normal trousers plus long sleeve?
Pls share your advice on interview dress code in Dubai.
Thanks First don't forget you are in an islamic country so make sure you dress decently no matter what you wear. While short skirt suits might look good in USA, it will not fly here. Secondly, you can never go wrong with a well tailored suit (a lesson I learned the hard way). Its better to be over dressed than under dressed. Wearing just a trouser and sleeves might make you look shabby next to your fellow job seekers. Just imagine walking in for an interview and you see all the others waiting in smart suits and you are wearing just a trouser and shirt…… worse still is if your interviewer now happens to be wearing a suit! |
