Gooci: mehn, i saw some videos on youtube yesterday about taking decisions on U-turns, round-about, headcheck, road signal, street marks. I jst tried the RTA stuff on my fone now, i failed the first one, though i had 25 out of 35. the nxt 2 ones that i did, i passed them o. are the RTA practice questions the likely questions to expect?? i jst de feel masef Yes. Like I said, about 80% of the questions were repeated and the rest were simple and involved normal common sense. The written test is not usually a problem. Its the final road test that gives people headaches because the examiner can fail indiscriminately and there is nothing you can do about it. But don't worry, you will be fine |

M also downloading some videos on youtube, i willl apply those rules when nxt i pick my mumsi's car, i jst hope all ds naija drivers no crash me o.
nd pls how did the practical training go with you? was it very simple
my prayer is to get there nd pass at once oooo, make money no enter bush It went well. The only issue in the beginning was communication as my instructor was Indian so it was a little difficult to understand his words at times |

worry359: Anyone contemplating driving in Dubai, UAE an other arab countries should keep one rule in their mind at ALL times. Rule one Whatever happens, you are in the wrong and any Arab / local is right! Anything will be your fault, police will support locals over a foreigner every time. (and as a lack African everyone will pick on you!) You must respect their laws in their country. Mr. worry359, you really really are very negative when it comes to anything concerning Dubai... Anyway, I don't subscribe to the "victim" mentality. People address you the way you put yourself and I have noticed that the Arabs will only give you sh*t if you allow them to (by the way you present yourself). That is not saying that discrimination is not real, because it is, but when you start feeling like a second class citizen/resident/human they will treat you like one. Most of the arabs are not even locals so they are foreigners just like you. The average Emirati man is very nice, gracious, accommodating and knows the value of foreigners to his economy. Please don't mind my epistle but try and reduce your negativity a little bit, biko, ejor, abeg |

Gooci: @justie, monchou nd evry1 in d house, pls wat can yu tell me about final road test in dubai nd how easy is it to understand dubai street rules, traffic rules nd road signs.. Nd pls is there any site that can get me familiar with them??
Am currently working a visa with dubai taxi against March this year nd I want to get masef familiar with there rules, signs before I eventually start training in UAE... I av no knowledge of road rules in naija, many of us jst drive.. As in, ya kno wah am saying..... I can only tell you what I know from my experience and since I used Emirates Driving Institute (Please Justwise I'm not advertising them ) it might be a bit different from what you are likely to face (as RTA apparently directs their drivers to Al Ahli). First download the RTA app. It was very useful as they repeated 80% of the practice test questions You will also learn a lot about the safety regulations and road networks. Its up to date and has information about the tram and metro system (which are things we are not used to in Nigeria). Infact everyone thinking of relocating to Dubai should download the app Also, try and get close to your instructor. Now I DONT mean you should offer a bribe o because that is illegal. What I mean is that I was always gisting with my instructor and he gave me some excellent "expo" on how to pass the parking, institute and final road tests in the first attempt All in all be prayerful. God is the beginning and the end. Some people attempt the final tests 3 to 4 (and even more) times before finally passing. |

You've been a great help Thank you Justin and monchou...and frosty, i'll just scan and send down to a friend in Abuja, I just pray that they will collect the scanned and attested copy. Thanks so much guys!! If they refuse to attest the copy without "sighting" the original, just DHL the original down to abuja (but make sure its a person you trust o!). Good luck! |

ikereku: Hello house, pls I need some information. I just gave birth to my baby daughter at the American Hospital in Dubai, but when my husband went to process the birth certificate to allow us collect a Travelling certificate for me to bring her back to Nig,the said we have to attest the wedding certificate, my husband has to go back to Nigeria on Friday, and I too have to leave by 29th Jan. I've called the embassy in Abu Dhabi with the number on their site, for about 6hrs now, they are not picking. Pls doss anyone here know the process of attestation of marriage certificate in the Abu Dhabi embassy. Do they even do it? Or do I have to send d certificate to Nig, given d short time, this could be very difficult o,my husband is already pissed off. First of all, congratulations on your bundle of joy Secondly, the person that advised you to come to Dubai to give birth didn't do a very good job as that is one of the first things you should have been told. Dubai is an islamic country that jails and deports unwed mothers. What makes you think they will accept to issue the birth certificate without irrefutable proof that you are actually married? If you have any friend in Abuja I suggest you send it down via courier so they have it stamped at Min of Foreign Affairs and UAE consulate in Abuja. I don't think our embassy in Abu Dhabi will be of much help because they usually insist on seeing the MOFA seal as well. |

justi4jesu: Every certificate in Dubai must be attested if you want it to be recognized. For you to get the attested birth certificate they need to see your attested marriage certificate to be very sure that you both are married.
Sorry as for that Nigerian Embassy number in Abu dhabi, you will call until Jesus come s, no one will pick, they are annoying as hell believe me. The girl just sits at the reception without picking the calls and when you approach her, she acts like they forced her to work at the Embassy. Our things are always different no matter where they are located.
Anyway let me call someone that works at the Embassy to confirm if they actually attest it in Abu dhabi.
Will get back to you. |

Carboom: Good evening house. Pls can someone give me information on the jobs available for doctors In Dubai and what the pay is like. I'm talking about a job for a medical officer, not a consultant. Information on residency programs will also be appreciated. Also what exams will I have to take and what documents will I need to secure a job. Pls forgive my naivety I'm new to this section. And if this information is on another thread pls direct me there. Thanks so much! @justwise, just4jesu, monchouchou etc pls I'm waiting for u guys' response... Thx again Try and go back a few pages. This issue was recently death with. The exam you have to take used to depend on where exactly you want to practice but this has changed now due to the recent unification program. That means even if you are licensed by Dubai Health Authority, you can still practice in the other emirates. The pay varies but is relatively good. I think the lowest pay I have heard of for a GP is about 10,000 AED. As for the exams and co., google.com will be your best friend here as I cannot start going over it again. Do your research first and if you have any specific question come back here and ask it. |

So I just need advice so that I'll not be stranded when I get there. Pls what to you think? You are not bothering me. Try and take some time to read through the thread and you will get a lot of valuable information that will save you both time and money. Driving jobs are not that easy to come by primarily because it costs a lot to get the driving license and its all time consuming. Now you are coming over with a visit visa, you will not be able to get the U.A.E driving license with a visit visa visa and who will be willing to employ a foreigner (who has no knowledge of the road networks) when he doesn't even have a license? Unless its RTA or other companies, such jobs are hard to come by (this is me being brutally honest). So, try not to put all your eggs in one basket and be open to other kinds of jobs. Good luck. |

Olayinkaoj: @Monchouchou @justi4jesu Please, a lady friend overstayed in the United kingdom, adjusted her arrival date on a visit to Nigeria but when she wanted to go back her 5 years UK visa cancelled at the airport. She tried US embassy but denied. I then gave her the option of Dubai to work. Please my questions are as follows: 1. Can you help in getting her a job in Dubai? She can do any legitimate job. Please I need your help for her. 2. Like how much money at least must she come with to survive till she gets a job? 3. What is the common range of pay? thanks 1. No I cannot help her to get a job. She has to start this thread from the beginning to learn the ins and outs of job search in Dubai, come with a visit visa and search for jobs by herself. Yes some people (agents) assist others in getting jobs but we really advise against such to avoid all the sob stories flooding the internet of how they were deceived. 2. She should come with as much money as possible. Dubai is very expensive and you cannot predict what she will meet when she arrives. She might get a job immediately or it might take some time or she might not even get any at all. Its better she comes fully prepared to avoid getting stranded. 3. There is no "common range of pay". Many factors determine ones pay such as qualification, job sector, the job itself and also the owners of the company. |

Gooci: thanks for the response... my plan is before the 3yrs, mayb i wuld av moved to another country by then Ok. So why are you bothering yourself about spousal sponsorship in the uae now? Truth is that it might be easier for your wife to get a job herself in Dubai and be sponsored by the company. Not saying you will not be able to sponsor her in 3 years time, but no one can really predict or speculate about the future in this part of the world. Just the other day I heard one country is about to begin mass deportation of a lot of lawful residents because they are just too many and they exceed the locals in numbers (is it Oman? Will search for it) |

Unless it's not in dubai or is in a very bad neighbourhood. I don't think you can get a good room for 2500. The accomodation should not even be the main issue. You need a job that pays very very well before you can think about sponsoring your spouse. If you are so interested in being with your wife then I suggest you start thinking of another country with more relaxed rules |

Many of them are currently having a lot of sales so you get good quality designer wears for a fraction of the price. Miracle Garden is currently open now so you can visit and enjoy the beautiful atmosphere with your family. A Safari is almost a must do for all tourists and also try to get a boat cruise at Dubai Marina. Abu dhabi is only 1 hour away so take a trip to Ferrari world and tour the city as well. **will add more when I remember them** |

My sister I don research and Google tire for saudi/qatar/dubai links, not got any concrete stuff. I am just knowing for the first time that SAUDI links vist naija and it's free and that they do visit twice a year. How and when I can contact "these people"? I have no idea oo but will keep googling. I have also asked @iiiyyyk for info's on dubai, please how did u help him? Will need same help, forever grateful, thanks I didn't provide any special help to iiiyyyk apart from whats posted here. He also did his research and decided to find a sponsor first but, as you are undoubtedly finding out, its very very hard to get a hospital/clinic to sponsor you when there are many people who already have their eligibility letters on ground, unless you have a speciality they are looking for. |

esosa4real: @justi4jesu good work on this forum, been following you and others here 4 a while.
Am a doctor working in Nigeria, with 3years post job experience, am planning the middle east for a Job as a doc. However because of my scare for fraudulent agents, I tried getting it done of DIY basis. Honestly it's difficult but at least after lots of research I have infos.
1. For Dubai wch pays well, I understand I need to write the DHA license exam and will need to be there n prepare for 3months, abeg how do I get such 3months visa and accommodation 4 such? 2. Does anyone have reputable job recruitment agencies in Naija that can help out with getting a job in Saudi Arabia as SAUDI doesn't really need an exam, jux 2yrs post experience. So I hear you could be recruited straight from Naija and they pay for all expenses. Please I need infos and advice. The bolded is not true. You do not need to be in the UAE for anything during the initial stages. You will only be required to come to the UAE if you want to search for jobs personally after passing the exam and getting your Eligibility letter. For the Saudi job search, I know they come around Nigeria once or twice a year to conduct interviews and recruitments and it is all free although they get a percentage of your first set of wages (something like that). Use google and you will find out more. |

No it is not. We keep repeating it on this thread that the U.A.E is not like Nigeria where anything goes, at all at all na him bad pass, we must to make am, etc. Unless you have a secure backing from the Lord, it is very difficult to live well in the U.A.E without a good job, especially in Dubai because the standard of living is high. Not like I'm trying to discourage him, but I just want him to be fully prepared and come with the mindset that he is ready to accept anything he sees be it insults from Indians and Pakis, physical maltreatment, etc. cus thats what such workers face a lot of the time. |
