So many knee-jerk reactions flying around, I think we need some perspective. I think BvS is a victim of hype and comparison. It's been almost 3 years since the movie was announced, non stop marketing and expectations get unrealistic after so long. There are also so many cbms around that the movie was going to be compared to others. That's why it seems like the critics are comparing it to marvel movies, they don't see any distinction, to them they're all superheroes

Anyway I don't want want you guys to be discouraged by the reviews, go out, see the movie and make up your own minds. Not every film has to be an Oscar winner and even the worst reviews all agree that BvS is entertaining. As a certain wise man once said, "better to fail aiming high than succeed aiming low". It's obvious the bar was very high so it bodes well for the movies coming up, especially Suicide Squad. That movie will be the bomb, Mark my words

Looking forward now I wish you would all stop blaming Snyder. He is a good director. There's an attempt to make him the scapegoat which is just sad. If there should be any blame cast, it should fall on the producer instead, David Goyer. Sorry to use the MCU as an analogy here but Kevin Feige is the producer behind all the marvel movies and he tells all the directors what he wants, gives them a common vision. There is always a plan to follow and it makes the directors work easy. It's the producers decision how many characters to include and he vets the final script . DC should hire a strong long term producer that can oversee the DCEU from infancy to the end, cos it's the end not the beginning that matters. Most people hated the Incredible Hulk, but no one remembers it now cos the movies that came after were good

In summary, ignore the trolls and go out to support BvS this weekend.

Season 2 of Daredevil lost quite a bit of form, and really sucked IMHO. I couldn't help but wonder at times if I was watching a PG-13 Arrow rather than the critically acclaimed Netflix [MA] Daredevil. But I can see why adrenaline junkies rated it higher than the first season. It's simple - It's got more action, yup. The fight scenes were all well choreographed if a bit rehashed, and the visuals were pretty slick. But that's it. All action and no substance.


I look for certain things in a show, namely:
- Language (Daredevil season 2 featured censured dialogue without one notable catch phrase and quotables. You'd be forgiven to think you're watching a terrestrial network show rather than a Netflix show)
- Authenticity (Nobu sudden reappearance in the 2nd season perfectly well and ass-kicking healthy pissed me off something fierce, as he was obviously burnt to death by Matt in one of the highlights of the first season. When he bested Matt in their first tossle in episode 9, Matt quipped "You're Dead." to which Nobu responded "There is no such thing." What kind of sh*t was that?? Seriously??
- Character development: (A lot of discrepancies here, from Frank to Electra to Karen to Foggy to Matt himself. The whole thing felt rushed. Was it any surprise that credible character development suffers the consequence?)
- Romance: (Daredevil season 2 is as unromantic as a show can get, let's just leave it at that).
- Comic Relief (Daredevil season 2 is as unfunny as it's unsexy. Season 1 had one in the mould of Fisk himself. His tempestuous temper always crack me up.)
- Macabre: (I have always been a fan of complicated deaths, which is why I loved Jessica Jones so much - It's got it in droves. Daredevils season 2 in contrast doesn't have one. All deaths were pretty straightforward and nasty. Did I mention boring?

That said, even on it's worst day, the 2nd season of Daredevil is hundred times better than Quantico, Flash, & Arrow any day, any time.

@Kingsilly, even if I did watch all of Daredevil on my S6 - which I didn't btw - the outcome would have been the same. And come to think of it, my S6 got better resolution than my Dell Inspiron X.

Ok at first I thought you were just joking but seems you're serious. I'll stick to the points you mentioned

-Language : it's funny cos this was one of the areas of vast improvement. Season 1 had lots of corny dialogue, every review you'll read mentioned this. The conversations didn't feel natural and you're using that as a point? Besides Fisk's good Samaritan monologue, there wasn't anything memorable.The writing in this season was way better, so many quotes I could mention but the philosophical discussion on the morality of vigilante justice, hell even Punisher' graveyard monologue was one of the best pieces of TV I've seen in ages

-Authenticity - Nobu was a huge letdown for me too but when it comes to authenticity you couldn't be more wrong. It fit perfectly with the narrative: Stick already explained there's this group of immortal ninjas chilling and you're still amazed Nobu came back? C'mon

-Character development :haha I could spend all day on this. This is literally the worst point you could have given. Even the supporting characters got full satisfying arcs: Punisher, Elektra, Foggy, Karen.... Exposition, conflict, resolution. Fully realized fleshed out characters. Even Fisk managed to look more menacing in a few episodes than in the entire season 1. In season 1, most of the supporting characters had their arcs prematurely cut in an attempt to produce an impact on viewers : Ulrich, Wesley, Owsley......their deaths felt unearned. It's a symptom of poor writing, trying to use shock deaths to substitute for good storytelling. I don't know what show you were watching honestly, I mean I have gripes with the series myself but anyone that watched it will be able to pick the issues. Instead you're highlighting all the ways season 2 is better than 1

Romance: Seriously The sexual chemistry between Elektra and Matt? The tension he had with Karen? What romance was in season 1? Vanessa's relationship was the only reasonable one and even that strained credulity at times

Comic relief : this is getting ridiculous. I'll just stop and say if you're expecting comedy from a daredevil show then you don't really understand the character. I'll skip the macabre thingy cos I don't get it either. The folks I watched it with were complaining that the gore was too much and here you are saying the opposite. Once again I don't understand you

size does matter and he knows how to use that weight well and the cushion helps with taking punishment.

Nah... All of the supposed villains didn't really match up to him, even the so called black sky was a little disappointing probably because she is a woman or because she already said that Daredevil was the best fighter she had ever fought with.
.... You need to see what Fisk did to him in season one compared to the villains in this season. Fisk was and still is a beast. Do you see how he tamed Frank in prison and how he nearly broke Murdock in two when he came visiting, that for me is the sort of villian I was expecting.

Spoilers man, was trying not to mention that cos of people that haven't seen it yet. I hated the whole Black Sky stuff, very disappointing, however guess we'll see it in season 3 since they got her in the end

Fisk is the final boss, when the Kingpin goes away the rats will try to take his place but they'll all fail, that's what the season was just trying to show. He'll be back and better in season 3, honestly can't wait for next season when the real Kingpin and the real Black Sky return

I disagree about the writing, it's way better than season 1. He wasn't being selfish just realistic, they apparently had very different ideas about justice. Rather thank God he didn't go Frank's way, that would have been disastrous. Even Karen that was forming Punisher champion eventually realised what kind of person he was.
I don't think it lacked for villains; The Hand, and Punisher kept him busy, even ****, I don't know where they would have found space to add another villain. In season 1 Fisk didn't appear till like episode 4,in this one right from episode 1 you had people trying to take over. It made mad sense

The fight scenes tho! My favourites were the stairwell fight, the Daredevil/Elektra fights and Punisher rampage

I agree with you about the ending, the whole thing was so confusing at a point and it was so obvious who was going to die. They will definitely renew it for season 3, it's Netflix and they already have a deal in place with Marvel, though we might have to wait a bit till after the Defenders

There was a Luke Cage teaser attached at the end of the last episode of DD season 2. Really short but Nas was playing so I still watched it anyway

So I finally finished DD season 2. What I can say is its definitely better than season 1. More character development, more action, tighter story, less backstory. Foggy and Karen are much better here than in season 1 too which helped

Standout performances for me, The Punisher, Elektra, Stick and Karen. Best episode for me was episode 9,best fight scenes were in episode 3 and the Punisher had the best lines

My major disappointment was the season finale. It was easily the weakest episode. It's something I've noticed about the Marvel Netflix series, they all have weak endings. The same thing happened in DD season 1 and Jessica Jones too, I hope they fix this.

Overall though, excellent series. Everything is perfectly setup for season 3 and from the villains they setup it will be so much better than this. The only thing that's holding them back now is The Defenders. The way it's looking now the schedule is

September 2016 - Luke Cage

Early 2017 - Iron Fist

Late 2017 - The Defenders

No one knows when they'll have time to make Jessica Jones season 2 or Daredevil season 3 or even The Punisher series.

Last word, DD is the best superhero series currently on air, hands down better than Agents of shield, better than Agent Carter, better than Arrow better than Flash, better than Supergirl, better than Legends of tomorrow, better Jessica Jones....... It's the best period. That's why we need a third season. The Defenders can wait imo

Jon Bernthal deserves an Emmy for his performance as Punisher, he was that good. He aced it, he is to The Punisher what Heath Ledger is to The Joker. I'm sure he'll get a nomination for Best supporting actor at least, remains to be seen if he'll win but he deserves it. There was this graveyard scene that gave me the chills, just showed how broken he is inside. I was blown away man

Now all I want is a Punisher series, all the rumours make sense now

Popularity is not synonymous with quality, I get that, valid point. A bit harsh on Super Story though cos it used to be quite good, at least better than it is now. Now it's just shit

The thing about Breaking Bad though is it wasn't just popular, it was also critically acclaimed. Very few shows manage to be both. Usually when a series, or movie, or album for that matter, when it's praised by the critics usually the public doesn't agree, cos they care about plot and structure , while we just care about action and entertainment. When a show(insert movie or album) manages to satisfy both sides then it's special.

I don't really care about that to be honest, the critics can go to hell and the public too. I like what I like, end of, and I LOVE Breaking Bad. The fact that many people agree with me is just a point I'm using in this argument. If everyone else hated it I would still love it.

So in the end we can all reduce this thing to "in my opinion", but what I won't take is the word overrated. Overrated series are popular but lack substance. One example I can give is Empire. I think Empire is overrated (crucify me if you want) cos I feel it's merely popular but it lacks substance. BB is the most non overrated show I can think of.

I put them into two categories ; the wannabe hipsters, the guys that want to hate on anything popular because it's cool at the moment and they wanna be different. If everyone else likes it, they hate it, automatically. Guy have you seen this dope video by Falz? Meh, it's just there jare, overrated. Like that, regardless of quality it's always overrated to them because people like it too much and people aren't allowed to like quality

The second category belongs to the people who actually took the time to watch it, wasted time in their opinion cos in the end they didn't just get it. I mean they tried, they really tried cos since everyone else loved it then there must be something about this but no, they couldn't find anything special. So now they're angry cos they feel deceived. Now the mere mention of BB makes the bile rise in their throat.

I have respect for the second category of people, I have no time for the former. You shouldn't have to like something because most people do. In this day and age social media has such an effect that at times we adopt the views of others without thinking for ourselves There is no such thing as universal acclaim cos we are individuals and individuals will have different opinions. It's allowed

Technically whatever Cap's shield can absorb, BP's suit can too, though it should be superior. I mean Cap's shield is an alloy, and BP has the herb factor and training as well. So I'm imagining a blast from Thor/Mjolnir making BP stronger. Dope af

Also I'm just in love with the spidey suit and those mechanical eyes. They brought back the classic design. Also I trust James Gunn and he says Tom Holland kills the role of Peter Parker.
