Ok! Ok! Don't eat me. I get your point. I'm a bit skeptic about the 3-hour runtime myself, but I trust Snyder's pacing.
Sorry if I sounded off, I'm really not anti BvS, hope it does well. Snyder mentioned that they'd managed to cut down the running time to 2 hours 20 mins, so there's that

I don't know. You just seem hostile towards the movie
That's unfair. It hasn't done anything to deserve my hostility yet. There's a big difference between outright hostility and healthy skepticism. If a concern about the R rating qualifies as hostility then it's really sad

When all you hear about a movie fills you with dread, when it leaves a bad taste in your mouth, that's hostility. The only cbm that has managed to elicit that reaction from me has been F4. Gambit is the heading in that direction too.

The only thing more stupid than bashing a movie before it's been released is defending a movie from imaginary haters. Totally pointless

I think deadpool is the test drive for R-rated superheroes movies from Fox. Since its success, there are talks of making the next wolverine and x-force movies R-rated.
So true, now everyone wants to do R rated movies. Even BvS will have an R-rated release. These companies just look at what's selling and use it as a future model. I hope they aren't being shortsighted cos some properties are suited for an R rating, like Suicide Squad, Deadpool, Watchmen and Blade, but some won't just work. There's no way you can convince me that BvS deserves an R rating, a few beheading scenes and blood splash does not make an R movie. It's all about the tone and adult content, if that's not part of the source material then there's no need.

Once again Hollywood will attempt to copy the success of an original movie. Some of those attempts will succeed but most will fail

Deadpool was worth it, we'll worth it. Haven't enjoyed a movie like that in a long time. Everything was spot on, they nailed it. Can't wait to watch part 2 with ***** in it. If there is any justice in the world, more cbms will be like this, pure fan service. Nobody wants to watch a 3 hour doom and gloom superhero movie, if they wanted education and realism then they'd watch a documentary instead. Entertainment, that's why we go to the cinemas, we just want to have fun. The makers of Deadpool understand this and may God bless their big hearts. I would pay more for a full movie of Deadpool doing just silly stuff.

The best part of this is it shows the studios can learn. After they botched up Wade Wilson in Wolverine Origins, and the fans expressed their displeasure we gave up all hope. This time around they listened to Wade when he said "just do right by me". Deadpool is the most comic book accurate character ever presented on screen. Everything was on point, Colossus is actually Russian for once, the yellow X-men suit from the comics - perfection. I think it's only X-men First class that came the closest to representing the costumes before this. I could go on and on.

Summary, I love it. Hope Fox is paying attention, if you won't give the rights back to Marvel then at least be faithful to the characters. Hire actors that are passionate about the characters, don't change what doesn't need to be changed... Ryan Reynolds obviously loves Deadpool and it shows. This year is already better than last, and we still have 5 cbms to go!

We have our Iron Fist folks! You may know him as the pretty boy from Game of Thrones. So now the gang is complete..... Matt, Jessica, Luke, and Danny! Is it too early to have a Defenders discussion? Cos I'm looking forward to it more than any MCU movie next year

Who would be a good strong villain for the Defenders? Kingpin and The Hand? Taskmaster?

heard it wasn't very good still have to decide for myself sometime soon
any other major book coming out this year ? i can only think of the fourth book in the gentlemen bastard series
don't be to eager to see it on screen they will water down so many epic moments to reach a broader audience.especially if its lionsgate just forget am.
I'm looking forward to Fall of Light (Kharkanas Trilogy - Steven Erikson), The Last Mortal Bond (final book of Unhewn throne) and Blood Mirror (Lightbringer series).
Yea Hollywood is a bit hit and miss with adaptations but they're looking serious about Red Rising. I think they see the potential. It's Universal so that's good I guess

I think he had too ,sometimes sweet talking and reaping just don't work, sacrifices must be made.
The power struggle between sevro and darrow in the earlier chapter was brilliant, also he lost his skill with the blade.
The only character I really hated was Antonia no redeeming quality whatsoever Roque,Cassius and thistle had some.
You know the Golds will never agree to be ruled by Darrow. Mustang as the leader was always the end game.
I could go on and on about this book
I don't think I have ever been more satisfied by a trilogy.

Have you read butcher's aeronaut windlass ?
You know this! The trilogy was excellent, I still can't decide which was my favorite book in the series. I hear the film rights have already been sold! Can't wait to see it in cinemas

Haven't read it yet, it's on my to read list

spoilers for morningstar below

yeah Mustang reasoning was flawed Darrow's mother reason for keeping Pax a secret made more sense.
my favourite part about the whole book was how "peace didn't ultimately reign immediately" we still have hold out all over the galaxy and Darrow giving up those son of Ares to Romulus and the blowing up of his dockyard with colours still present made it more realistic.
if I had any complain at all it will be about the jackal wish we knew more about him aside from being a smart, psycho "that want to be loved motivation" doesn't do it for me.

concerning unresolved thread do you mean the ashlord,Romulus and the gold war lords ?
All of the above. I'd love to see how that turned out.

That part you mentioned was my least favourite, did he have to give them up? I still hate Cassius, inspire of his redemption, and I dislike Mustang. Trust an Augustus to end up in power when all is said and done, the snakes! Just like the Lannisters, you can never trust em

@Moneyallowed what did you think about morningstar ?
hit all the sweet spot for me. we may still get more books in the future.
Morningstar was a great! Especially loved how Darrow's character arc came full circle, cold and calculating meets impulsive and unpredictable. I think he's more Gold than Red now, at least in the way he thinks.

What I didn't like about it was the unresolved threads, trust you know the ones I mean. Feels like it needs another spinoff to round things up. Oh and I also hated Mustang for the whole "judging him worthy" thing, didn't make sense especially when Darrow did that thing he did to Romulus, and she didn't find out. How on earth didn't she find out??

Also, Sevro!!! My new favourite fictional character! I wish NL had the option of changing one's moniker. I would drop moneyallowed and adopt Sevro, or Howler 1

GoTG Vol 2 has begun filming and James Gunn has spoken : no Thanos, no Collector, Mantis is joining the team, Kurt Russell is innit plus a bunch of guys I've never heard of.
That's all unimportant imo, all I really care about is the pic of Baby Groot holding onto Drax's ear. Cute

Lol nice try. Sometimes I wish we could merge both the DC and Marvel pages into one big giant thread! The flame wars would be glorious and endless

I hope BvS does well, Deadpool has led us to a good start. The best case scenario for me is that all the comic book movies this year make over a billion bucks with critical acclaim. Hopefully by the end of this year we won't be able to decide which movie was the best cos they were all so good

In other news, Deadpool currently has a 100% rating on rotten tomatoes. The reviews have been great so far which is reassuring, Fantastic Four anyone? Really glad for Ryan Reynolds and the crew. Hope it smashes the box office and makes a little money. Definitely going to see it next weekend. Where is Cao? She owes us a review

You remember the part in Winter Soldier where Cap goes to the Smithsonian and he sees an interview from the past where Peggy talks about him? Well that's the full interview in the link up there, about 3 minutes long, was part of the dvd release. The point where Peggy just breaks down is wonderful, worth a watch

Miller and other marvel cronies won't say anything that might alienate anybody, saying they won't stick to the source might vex some people and the people without previous knowledge of the source material won't care.
George Lucas gave a useless PR answer concerning star war and only said what he feltaafter Disney don make bank.
Don't mind Lucas, running his mouth everywhere now but he didn't say anything before the movie came out. In the case of Civil War I hope this is just that, heaven knows we don't need some of the unnecessary arcs from the comics. You know which ones I'm referring to
TV/MoviesRe: Marvel Cinematic Universe by moneyallowed(m): 7:47pm On Jan 26, 2016
I was recently arguing with a friend about Civil War. I was like there is no way the movie will be like the comic book bla bla, then he goes and shows me a quote from the person who wrote the comic, Mark Miller himself. Turns out Miller has seen the movie, they showed the film to their inside guys and all, Stan Lee, James Gunn etc yeah, lucky bastards. Anyway there is this quote in particular when he's talking about the film.

“It’s much the same,” Millar told Cineworld. “They've added characters they have the rights to as some of their characters are scattered around different studios, but the main players and their chief lieutenants in this thing are all the same.”

To tell you the truth I don't know what to think. The same?? Added characters? Are there characters appearing they haven't told us about? Will people die just like in the comics? Wow well now I've just scraped everything I think I know about Civil War. Expect a few surprises folks.

Leaked Civil War comic con footage. Redwing looks great, though I can't really see all that well, but the crowd's reaction is priceless. They all sound like 5 year olds opening their Christmas presents. Reminds me of the reaction when Marvel unveiled Phase 3 and announced Civil War

http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/live-feed/jessica-jones-renewed-second-season-856423

I can't complain really... If there's any show that deserved a renewal, it's JJ. My only issue now is what happens to the Defenders? I mean if DD gets a season 2,and JJ too, then LC gets one, then IF, then The Punisher......when are are we ever going to see the heroes unite to fight a common threat? The great thing about Phase one was that it was clear they were balding towards The Avengers from Iron Man when Nick Fury showed up at the end.

Who is gonna be the Nick Fury of the Defenders,? Is there von a need to get them all together? I'm beginning to think maybe they should scrap The Defenders show and leave the heroes to do their own individual thing. Thoughts?

Netflix wan beat this MCU stuff to death sha, I never even watch DD finish and couldn't get pass the fourth episode of JJ.
You are not alone in that, I know someone else who couldn't finish JJ either, but it gets better

I actually wish there was more of Netflix mcu. Their stories are adult oriented and more mature so I don't mind. I just wish we would see new heroes like Moon Knight introduced instead. Punisher has had 3 movies all to himself, and they all sucked. I get he has a lot of fans and this is the first time Marvel will handle the character themselves, I really get but..reminds me of Spider-Man. Some characters are so popular that they shove others into the background.Blade or Cloak and Dagger shows have so much potential but they keep returning to the same. Anyway we'll still get Luke Cage and Iron Fist so can't complain too much.

The Punisher series....hmm. If they already moving forward with this then his performance in DD has to be something else. I'll reserve judgement till I watch season 2.
Anyone know what a potential series would revolve around? Cos I'm scratching my head but can't think of any specific Punisher villains, apart from the Mafia
