Early reviews/reactions for civil war: http://www.comicbookmovie.com/captain_america/captain_america_civil_war/the-first-reactions-to-captain-america-a137275
I usually don't trust early reactions cos of bad experiences with Fantastic Four but these are critics not fans and they seem to be balanced. So that's a good sign

The review embargo lifts on Wednesday, very early another good sign that Marvel are confident the film is very good so they know the critics will like it. So from Wednesday those of you that are interested in RT scores can check reviews

Well well. People have been praying for this, I'm not one of them though cos I know next to nothing about these guys. All I know is they're like the dynamic duo of marvel, he's - Tyrone - Cloak and she - Tandy - is Dagger, duh.
He can you know, do cloaky things, like use the darkforce to "Cloak" himself, haha, swallow people and other weird stuff like that. Oh and he can teleport too, a useful skill when he's not eating people. So he's the bad cop of this duo.

She can do very daggery things as you may have guessed like stab people with light daggers, but don't ask me how, I don't know. She's also the good cop, cos she's light you see while he's dark, and they need each other and so on

So I'm not really looking forward to this but who knows? it might be nice in the end

http://mcuexchange.com/one-shot-looking-at-who-could-be-the-main-villain-of-doctor-strange/

This article addressed something that has been bothering me for a long time - we still don't know which villain "Hannibal" is playing. If you don't understand how unusual this is, remember every MCU movie so far, we've been able to know in advance who the villain will probably be; Loki, Red Skull, Ronan, Ultron....... So they're hiding something

What villain do you think is most likely. I personally think it'll be Dormammu. Also I wouldn't discount Mordo or Nicodemus West either, they may "hiding in plain sight"

I basically see Dr strange same way I see the ankh dude from DC.
would a movie about Namor not make better sense? I could think of a few characters that I would like to see adapted and yeah, I know he ties into in the general plot.
I'll need a trailer to whet my appetite.

doctor strange Is one of your favorite?
I don't see the appeal
this may just be Sherlock and Watson with Magic.
Lol @Sherlock and Watson. Like Cao said it's probably cos you've watched the series but after seeing the movie you'll see Strange instead.

He's amazing. The thing with superheroes is the more powerful ones aren't that deep: Superman, Hulk, Sentry...I mean these guys aren't shallow but Strange is on a totally different level. His sacrifices something everytime he uses his power, it's not free and that makes him very wise. When Silver Surfer came to earth to warn the Avengers about Thanos he had to find the one guy that would understand immediately and know what to do, he went straight to Stephen Strange. Some heroes give their lives to save people, yeah yeah, but none of them has sold his soul to save another, none. Strange has done this multiple times. He also has the coolest origin story of any of the marvel heroes, his villains are sick and op af, and one of the best comic costumes. And that's not even mentioning his powers

I don't know how they'll translate him in the MCU cos they have a way of nerfing their characters but in the comics Strange is the most overpowered guy. His magic isn't the silly Harry Potter thing they were doing in high school, the guy is the baddest muthafvcka alive and he doesn't play around. The only guy to ever fight someone with the Infinity Gauntlet and actually make him suffer. Time control, telekinesis, invulnerability, flight, mind control, mind reading, matter manipulation......he can multiply himself, can heal other people instantly, that's just the ones I can remember cos his feats are legendary. Asin the guy battles cosmic entities as a day job. The only limit to his power is his own conscience and the spiritual cost he's willing to make. If they make him even half as powerful as the comic book version, he'll make dem Vision and Scarlet Witch look like children
So what's not to love?

Personally I take the critic reviews and sites seriously anymore still the time of Deadpool(honestly the way they hyped the movie, one would think it was the next best thing). Mind you, Deadpool is actually good, not just up to the hype it was given.

In all honesty, I think the main problem people will have with BvS will be the story which most people who don't know Batman indepth would find hard to get. If the story and the timeline was understood better, then people will have few qualms with the portrayal of Lex among other things.

Last of all, I feel the addition of flash and Aquaman in cameos were unnecessary. Simply fanboyism there.

I agree with you for the most part. Deadpool was fun, most people didn't expect it to be any good and it surprised them. Think that's what caused the hype, which I think also think is deserved

You're right about the story. If they had spent more time on Lex and cut out the unnecessary stuff it would have been much better

Funny, I agree with almost everything you typed, except the batman part. I think he was to clouded by his own rage and fear, he didn't realise he was being played by lex. Supes could have explained that to him in less than 5 mins, but of course he wouldn't have listened considering their previous encounter.
For the post credit scene, I think they didn't want to go that route coz it's more of marvel's signature. The flash appearance would be confusing to non-comic book fans, plus it didn't add anything to the plot.
For everything else, I mostly agree with you. I think they put so much of their world building into this one movie because justice league is close and they'll need to explain a whole lot.
Well that makes sense, Alfred warned him but he didn't listen either. Maybe what he was feeling at the graveside was guilt because he knew it was partly his fault superman died.
Hopefully now that they've done most of their world building Justice League will be a far better movie

Do you think Superman will join them at the beginning of that film or at the end? From Snyder's comments I fear he may not even be in the movie at all, maybe in part 2. He mentioned how powerful superman is and the JL member s having to make do without him

Well, let's compare
- Wolverine's got a metal skeleton, has sharp metal claws that come out of his knuckles and has self healing powers. All of which makes him a nearly indestructible mutant.

- Deadpool can regenerate and self heal all at once. He's very adept at hand-to-hand as well as weapon combat. He's also indestructible.

Hmmm... I think a fight between the 2 would ultimately end in stalemate - with the Wolverine scoring less points. He's the slower of the 2 and thus, would invariably be more on the receiving end of any asskicking involve.
Wolverine may be slower than Deadpool but he has more experience. Think it'll be a stalemate too tho

am hearing that there was some clues to darkseid appearance in later movie present in BvS
SPOILERS!!!! SPOILERS!!!!! SPOILERS!!!!

Things I loved

-Ben Affleck killed it. Admit it, we were all wrong. The chemistry he had with Alfred was on point. Wish Alfred got more scenes. Also wth happened to Lucius Fox? He just disappeared from the planet, they didn't even mention him in the movie. Weird. Morgan Freeman must be pissed. This ninja Punisher style Batman has the best action scenes hands down of any onscreen bat, Bale included. The best was the Martha Kent rescue. My favourite scene in the entire movie was the final fight with Doomsday when Superman & Wonder Woman are giving it to the ugly mofo then Batman looks at the level of these guys and decides they're out of his league. My guy just shifted back and tried not to die. Then when it was looking like Supes/WW were wondering where is this useless Batman sef?, he tosses a grenade and gives them that look like, omo I try abi? Hilarious

-Wonder Woman. She should have gotten more screen time. Everyone is raving about her performance but she was barely there. The little we got was cool tho. I love her accent.

-Batman v Superman fight: I don't like it took so long or that it was so short but boy was this awesome. This is what I paid money for

What I Hated

-What does Lex really want? They never explained his reasoning. The characterisation made him look like a madman, but he's not like Joker/madman, he's Lex, with a plan. Seriously disappointed. At times it felt like I was watching a poor imitation of a hybrid Riddler/Joker. I don't understand how Lex got this alien ship technology info on meta humans and suddenly has the landline of Darkseid. His plan makes no sense because we don't understand his motivations - blow up the Senate building and kill his assistant? Why? Kill superman? Why? Why did he even use his DNA when it could be tracked back to him. Also how on earth will the Capitol of all places get blown up and the only consequence is "Superman is sad"? This is something that should have more impact than 9/11

-So Superman had to die, because of course it's Doomsday and he always kills Superman, so he can rise like Jesus Christ. Did you notice how the movie was just forcing the whole Jesus thingy? The statues, the blood, the worship, the followers, the betrayal....... It's not by force Hollywood, it's not by force

-The Spear, the bloody Spear. How did Lois know the importance of the Spear? It was so funny, she needs it, then she doesn't need it again and throws it away, then she needs it again? And Supes and Batman just left it lying around conveniently? Hmm
Also why didn't Superman give Wonder Woman the Spear to kill Doomsday with when she had showed she was as strong as him and could do the job, when he knew it would kill him, abi he just wanted to die by force?

-Batman kills without mercy, Punisher style, he even wanted to kill Superman , nawa oo. What's the purpose of the branding of criminals, don't understand it. Then Bats changes his entire mind cos he finds out Supes has a mother and his own mother was killed in slow motion when he was little so he knows what it feels like to lose your mother and the mother's name is even Martha sef wow his own mother's name was Martha too wow this must be a sign from God they're meant to be best friendshuh Argggh. His graveside sadness was just fake as well, I mean you wanted to kill this guy 30 minutes ago
The way Batman was brutal they'd better show he's killed all his villains including Joker, that's why he has no one left to fight except Supes or else...

-The dream. That came out of nowhere, and went nowhere. It served no function. Did I miss the part where Flash has a new superpower. So speed force can let you enter people's dreams now. I think I was the only one in my theatre that knew it was Flash, everyone else was like who is that, where did he go?

-Justice League was founded by email while Bats and WW were suited up waiting to bring down Doomsday. Ok . There was no need for that, they should have put it as a post credits scene

Lol I'm just estimating. Usually movies open in US and most European countries first before opening in China and India, cos a week or two after opening in these countries, pirated HD copies magically appear on the net. These two countries are a pirates dream. Using Deadpool as an example, only the CAMrip was available on the Internet till like a week and half ago, because, you guessed it, China.

BvS opened worldwide in all countries simultaneously, China and India included, it's a big risk but they need people to go out and see before bad reviews/press kill the hype. So I'm guessing 2 weeks at most we'll have a reasonably clear copy online, it definitely won't take 1-2 months

Picture this, Daredevil and Deadpool locked in an Hexagon, each fully equipped, whom would you pick to win? My money's on Deadpool. Reasons:

- Immortality: his self-healing ability is awesome and better than that of Logan's.
- Ninjatsu: his mastery of the samurai form of martial art will dazzle and usurp Daredevil's Jijitsu & Aikido even in the later's best day.
- Ruthlessness: He doesn't squirm from killing like you know who.
- Personality: He's got more confidence in himself and abilities than any Marvel comic character I know, barring Thor of course.
Deadpool. He once killed the entire Marvel universe single-handedly, he doesn't fight fair, has got no morals and like you mentioned he's indestructible. It's not even a contest.

A fairer contest would be Wolverine vs Deadpool

but tell me, 29%? Thats harsh cos if any m0vie below BvS' quality c0mes out and gets a higher rating, am going to start a blog and tear it down. Seriously.
It's harsh no doubt, but that's the danger with taking risks. Thor 2 & Amazing Spiderman 2 were stupid but they played it safe, they were silly but fun, popcorn stuff. So at least even if the reviewers didn't like the movie at least they felt their money wasn't totally wasted, so they gave it an average score

BvS on the other hand tried to be deep, serious, philosophical and epic all at once and failed. It's harder to give a movie a move a positive score if you didn't enjoy yourself. Any comic book fan would have appreciated it but most of these critics hate comics, they're even getting tired of comic book movies and claiming superhero fatigue. Then a film like BvS comes along and they're like Aha! Told you

Remember RT doesn't work by percentages, the 29% doesn't mean BvS is 29/100. It simply means 29% of the critics gave it a positive score. After all the grammar they write, RT forces critics to rate a movie positive or negative, that is fresh or rotten. So if 10 reviewers all rated BvS 2.5/5, 8 might give it rotten cos they didn't enjoy it, making it look like it's a very bad film. If you want a more accurate score always look at the critics aggregate score. BvS is currently on 5.3 over 10. That's more objective. That's about the same rating as Thor 2 and Iron man 2.The RT % is just to give an idea to anyone who hasn't seen the movie the probability that they might enjoy it

All these BvS trashing gets me frustrated on being a DC fan. Now am forced to go download the CAMRip versi0n seeing as there are no cinemas here, just to have my opinion. God, am tired of being in the dark. If this film fails in my eye, am d0ne with c0mic book films or better still i'll stick with the x men films except dpool and leave this mcu dcu shit.
Bro wait for the Hdrip at least, it'll be out in 2 weeks at most. You won't enjoy the CAMrip, remember it's all about the experience and I can assure you the best experience you will get is on the highest quality. The glory of the visuals and cgi will be lost on CAM so just wait. Forget all these people, there's no way the film will fail in your eye, just lower expectations and you'll enjoy it

If this film was released 10 years ago, we'd all be praising it. The simple fact is expectations have increased, we expect more now. That's why it seems we're being harsh. I think it's a good thing. If we are satisfied with this then we'll get more of the same, they will only keep filling cbms with action and explosions. At least now they know some people aren't happy and the Justice League movie will be better for it. When AoU was released and it got criticized for going down the path of Transformers, they had to listen. I hope they learn the same lessons from BvS.

Bashing the movie because it doesn't follow Marvel's standard of kiddy action and baseless comedy? Most Marvel comics are dark and involve a lot of blood and gore especially Hulk who has killed all the avengers in cold blood multiple times, but in the movies, Hulk smiles...like WTF grin

The Movie is true to the comics, so much more than Marvel movies. This isn't a fanboy rant, i enjoy all Marvel movies as well but i think Batman v Superman distinguishing itself is really cool. The plot in this movie was amazing and they certainly didn't give away much in the trailers at all, i means there are so much new stuffs in the movie (You can check this with any1 else that has seen it).

I gave BvS an 8/10. Cinematography, CGI and art were all brilliant. Lex Luthor's lines (if you actually listened to them were badass) and if you even follow the comics one bit you'd know that lex luthor is one really annoying shoemaker lol.

Without spoiling anything, my only problems with BvS was the lack of post credit scene, it's slow start and the transition between scenes. Even with these its an 8/10 because once the movie started going, i could even take my eyes off the screen to check the time. Ben Affleck is the

best Batman Hands down, Gal Gadot is an awesome wonder woman and i never had any problems with Henry Cavill as Superman even in Man of Steel.

Conclusion: Go and Watch Batman v Superman cool
Funny BvS had all the things you describe

Kiddy action - check
Baseless comedy - check
Weak villain - check

Seems like DC copied the marvel formula if we follow your reasoning. The plot is rubbish. For spoilers sake I won't mention all the plotholes but I'll just say this Lois Lane, Lex, Doomsday. That is all

I repeat the trailers spoiled the movie, it's the worst case I can remember in recent times. Apart from the final scene, which you'll still predict, they showed everything. Doomsday was terrible cgi, he looked like a character from a low budget movie
DC doesn't do post credit scenes, MoS didn't have one. Though they should have put that JL setup as post credits, it was lame the way they crammed it right before you know what. And don't get me started on that dream sequence

See ehn, I believe I was very fair in my review but the more I think about it maybe I was being too kind.

I'm trying to avoid spoilers so I'll summarise. Batman was great, the fights were predictable but cool, Lex is so annoying, the movie was too long. BvS deserves a part 1 and 2, they should have split it up.Oh and whoever wrote the script didn't try for Superman. Also the script my God, this film has the best examples of movie logic I've seen in a long time. So many things didn't make sense. You remember all the criticisms people had about Marvel movies, well they just crammed all of them into one film. I don't think any fanboy can argue after this. My biggest issue: the trailers. I wish I didn't watch any of the trailers, I would have enjoyed this so much more. There was only one "surprise" in the entire movie and even that I saw coming a mile off.
Thinking about it I can understand why some people will have different opinions about BvS. There are things to love and things to hate in it. In some ways it was an improvement on MoS but in others ways..... I've had time to reflect and I'll give BvS a 6/10. I would have given it a 5 but the acting is so good all round that it doesn't deserve it. Then I wanted to give it a 7 but that would mean it's really very good and it's not. It was disappointing but not as bad as people are saying. It could have been really great and I wonder if the directors show these movies to people that can give them honest criticism, cos there are simple things anyone could have pointed out to them, simple things that would have made this the best cbm ever

talking about critics and integrity, ever seen the m0vie Birdman? It portrays critic bias in hollywood. In a scene, it showed a critic already writing her review before even seeing the previous batman actor's character in the film performing on broadway. I d0n't think its the script, we've heard Jesse Eisenberg prays it time without number for its philosophic approach. I think they're tearing it down because the film portrayed a bad image of U. S <what snyder films always do a la watchmen and m0st films that tend to do, olympus has fallen, l0nd0n has fallen> or they were paid to tear it down. I remember menti0ning that here b4 the m0vie was released. To me, i would like every0ne to go read, Jesse Eisenberg's m0ck review of a n0n existent m0vie aiming to m0ck critics. That write up totally explains whats happening n0w with BvS. Well i'll like every0ne to go see the m0vie and make his own opinion.
Bingo, nail on the head! There is critic bias in the movie industry but if you read what I wrote I said they can't afford to be seen as biased. In the case of Birdman, a movie that fully deserved it's Oscar btw, that critic was so well respected that she could tear down or resurrect his career with a word. She was like a god. In the real world that's why you have things like metacritic and rotten tomatoes, to aggregate the scores of several critics, so no single critic can have the final say on a movie. The big studios try to influence critics and swing them to their side cos they know bad reviews can sink a film

The essence of a review really is to give a general idea of a film and if it's worth your time to watch, cos life is too short to waste on bad movies. The purpose is not to serve as the final word on the movie, your opinion should be the final word. If you're really concerned about reviews then have one or two reviewers you trust and follow them. I usually listen to Struckmann and Roger ebert's site, these I can relate to
That's the thing though, when a movie we love gets good reviews then critics matter all of a sudden and we use the RT score as proof that the movie is awesome, but if the movie is bashed then the critics were biased or have an agenda.

Gods of Egypt director recently had a lot of things to say about critics, after his movie was bashed. The funny thing though is while he was right about the undue influence critics have on our opinions, he was wrong in the end cos Gods of Egypt was a very bad film. Now he's claiming the critics are being too soft with BvS cos of bias, that the RT score should be lower and RT is owned by Warner Bros so he may have a point. In fact they are claiming fake accounts and audience reviews are keeping the audience score unreasonably high

Anyway I'll watch BvS this weekemd and let you know what I think

You obviously do not get the all issue here. The bone of contention here is that 'thr was too much destruction' in MOS, superman dint kill pple, pple died as a result of his fight with Zod, and wat do u expect wen two titans fight? pple died in Avengers: AOU too doesnt means Avengers killed em. There will be collateral damage, it was just too much in MOS and understandably so since Zod was bent on destroying earth and superman had to defend and these are two kryptonians going headtohead here, it wouldnt have been fought in a small space. And i biliv this is reason for Batman's feud with Superman, he brought his Zod battle to Gotham and caused destruction.
And if u watched Civil War trailer, Avengers were under scrutiny cos of the trail of destruction that followed thr battles. So going by wat u wrote, Avengers killed these pple??
smh
I get the collateral damage issue, really. My problem is that using Star wars as an excuse is pretty dumb. If he had mentioned Avengers that would have even made more sense. The difference also between Avenger and MoS was they were seen trying to get people to safety and avoid casualties. In MoS there was none of that, Supes even used a building full of people as weapon against Zod

That's other guys problem not mine, mine is the kill policy. Some heroes have a moral code and some don't. Let me watch the movie first before I conclude

That was a very dumb statement, I refuse to believe Snyder actually said that. If he did, then I change my mind, DC should sack him

In Star Wars Star-killer base killed billions and destroyed planets. In Man of Steel, Superman killed a lot of people. There is a difference between the evil bad guy of a movie killing civilians and the superhero of the movie killing civilians. The fact that he's defending heroes killing people does that mean they kill more people in BvS? If I watch BvS and any of the heroes kill people then I'm done defending this fool of a director

yea, quite agree with the visuals. Reports coming in say the visuals and score are the movie highlights; it's captivating. They say the man in charge have got to win the oscar for picture.
Oscar for Best Picture? Lol that's the kind of hype that kills movies. I'll lower my expectations and go and watch BvS with an open mind.
These critics are professionals and get paid for this, it's their source of livelihood and they can't afford to be seen as biased. These are the same critics that gave The Dark Knight trilogy wonderful reviews. So there's obviously something wrong with the film, maybe it's not as bad as they're saying but I blame that on the hype, we were promised something spectacular and they probably didn't deliver
