Are u trying to be funny??

How can you activate a phone that isnt factory unlocked with an unsupported carrier??

Unless your phone is factory unlocked, there is no way you can activate using your MTN sim.

Now that you know whats up, slap yourself three times for being dumb!!!! sad sad sad

MRbrownJAY: @Initiator
i have been writing my "autobiography" for the past 2+ yrs but it is still and always will be a "work in progress", lol! i only do it because of family and friends so that they will have an idea (or a bigger picture) of what i have been going through all these yrs....and also to not forget the marvelous and crazy things that happened to me along the way. sadly, it is also a Xrated version, where i leave very little to the imagination. my kids will have to be 25yrs old before they can read it (and my mother will never read it, and will keep on viewing me as her "baby", lol )

so where were we? yes Japan......

so, here are some few other things that amazed me over there:
- when i first arrived over there, i put all my garbage in one plastic bag and placed it near the garbage place downstairs, and one of my neighbor brought it back to my door. i had no idea that garbage needed to be separate, in a military fashion! lol
- you could loose/forget your wallet, bag, valuables etc in the subway, and find it back INTACT the next day. a person would find it and bring it back to the lost and found dept of that station, 99% of the time. your good luck would run out if a FOREIGNER finds your stuff.
- their love for Karaoke although most cannot sing.
- their cyber cafes where you can spend hours comfortably. if you missed your last train, thats the best place to spend the night. many of the cyber cafes in Japan offer sofas for 2, TV, Playstation3 + games, free soft drinks, and very cheap meals and snacks. yes, i can also confirm that you can even make sweet love to your woman there too since they are in private booths, lol!
- SUSHI SUSHI SUSHI!!!
- Akihabara aka electronic town (in Tokyo), is just an amazing place to go shopping. you have to spend the whole day there as it is HUGE! sadly for all visitors, although most products are very cheap, they are mostly for the Japanese market.
- take a trip on the Shinkansen (bullet train) to kyoto, and enjoy the scenery of that country.

sadly as great as japan is, there are a lots of things that would have you scratch you head in wonders:
- grown a.ss men reading mangas, like their lives depended on it.
- people sleeping in their seats in the subway, and waking up like an alarm clock at their stop.
- young girls selling their soiled panties to specific stores to make extra cash. the panties has to be worn for a specific amount of days, then the gal takes it off and it is placed in a sealed plastic bag to keep its "freshness", the name and sometimes photo of the gal is added to the package and then sold to Japanese men for se.xual kink.
- having vending machine in specific areas of the city selling these soiled underwear, and men standing in front of these machine checking which one to buy WITHOUT A CARE IN THE WORLD.
- the insane practice of having to go to the karaoke with your colleague, as part of team building etc.
- hostess bars....where Japanese men PAY to sit and talk with women.
- grown a.ss men crying on public TV after making a mistake.
- subways and trains having female only compartment (during rush hours) because of the constant groping by Japanese men. since it is not in their culture to express themselves, most women are silent when it happens to them, thus making it a vicious trend.
- capsule hotel (although visiting one of them is recommended to understand these places). this is a cheap and great place for drunks who stayed too long in the city and missed their last train
- Japanese women never shaving down below simply because Japanese men love hairy women.
- the lack of green spaces like parks etc in Tokyo

as for those who doubted that Japanese have all the fun, then see the pic below for one of their craziest invention to date (that we men would certainly love, lol):
Confirmed Talk!!!!
PhonesRe: Tethering. by moonraker(m): 4:37am On Mar 14, 2012
Depending on the country you live in, Tethering might be supported and unsupported.

it also depends on the kind of phone or smartphone you are using. In the case that

your carrier supports tethering and that you have the hardware to do tethering and that

you as a subscriber has entered a contract with your carrier, then of course, your

carrier will charge you according to your plan.

If you Tether without signing a contract and your carrier discovers it, then you will

be fined heavily.

Plus there is the issue of people using too much data. example, i knew someone who used

his iphone data plan to download a movie. True Story!!!!

sun_temi: Moonraker, You are advising him to upgrade when Apple Has Stopped Signing iOS 5.0.1? How will he be able to stay on 5.0.1?

yahyus, I will advice you download a software called iFaith, Use it to dump your 4.3 shsh blog which you' currently on before thinking of upgrading or not if you don't do that and you upgrade there will be no chance of falling back to 4.3 if need be. Also since you don't even know if your iPhone is factory unlocked or not, I think finding out should be the second step after dumping your 4.3 shsh blog. I'm saying all these just because you asked about jailbreak.
that was a mistake bro. i forgot that apple stop signing that firmware... my mistake

You guys psychologically compelled me to make u turn from android to join the iclique. I now got iPhone 4 32 GB. But being a new convert I have some questions to ask;
-how should I copy my mp3 folders?
-the phone's software is iOs 4.3, should I update it to the current iOs 5 or not? If yes should I update using my system or using the phone?
-how should I copy my contacts to the phone?
-what about the jailbreak? Should I jailbreak or not? If yes, how should I do it? If it's jailbroken, can I use app store and Cydia simultaneously? Can I use the both app store apps and. Cydia apps simultaneously?

Thank you.
1. you need to download a software called ITunes to sync your mp3 files and not folders to your iphone 4.

2. If your phone is factory unlocked, i would suggest that you upgrade ASAP using ITunes on your computer. if isnt then it is still possible to update. only

that you would need to update your using another method not ITunes.

3. This is a tricky one. To the best of my knowledge, i dont think there is a straight forward way of doing it.

you would either have to input them manually or copy your contacts to Microsoft Outlook and then sync your contacts via Itunes to yur phone.

4. To be honest, jailbreaking can be messy but you can customize yur phone to yur liking by doing this. The rest assured though that

you can jailbreak successfully on software 5.0.1. anything higher than that would be messy...

apple won't rest on their laurels!
they would bring up something next season.
Alrighty!!!!

By then, The Android OEMS and Windows OEMs would have taken center stage, leaving apple behind.

Mr Coogar, like i said earlier, i love apple and its products but erm the business route that these guys

are taking is a risky one. The only reason why apple has been able to get away with producing products

that are specs wise nothing to write home about and pricing them high is becos of Steve Jobs. Steve

was more than an innovator to apple. He knew what to say and how to convince people to buy a product.

He isnt there anymore, Just wait until the Steve Jobs momentum finally dies down.

texazz:
Man, this statement is really dissapointing coming from you, cos I know you usually know your onions.

The older iPads have a 1024 x 600 screen resolution. Pixel density of around 160 dpi.
The new iPad has the highest resolution of any mobile device out there, pixel density of > 250 dpi.

The difference in screen quality is the most obvious change in the new iPad, the very FIRST thing you notice. What tech blogs have you been reading? Everyone has been blown away by the screen quality.
You know what?

you may be right. And No, i havent been reading any blogs.

I am opportunied to be in this industry where stuff like these

are created, made and discussed about.

I still maintain that there is only so much that the eye can see when it comes

to pixels.

Ofcourse when 1080p content and gaming comes to the ITunes store, then one

will begin to see the benefits of the screen. The only thing that actually catches my

fancy is the now 4G capability and the A5X Processor.

when did they just release iPad 2? you really think it's so easy to revolutionize every 8 months?
of course not. . . . .however, it's still the most powerful tablet out there.

you made me laugh that the eyes wouldn't see the difference between a-5 chip and a-5x chip?
really? it's 4 times faster in processing. the eyes and other sensory organs would see the difference.

Congrats, you have just proven to us that you are the most intelligent person on NL. of cos, its safe to say that the

Disappoints?! Are you folks on crack? This is the most powerful tablet in the world right now, more powerful than even anything announced at CES/MWC that has not even been released.

Na wa for you fandroids sha.
mr tex, you need to calm down. It is like this: you would think that a company like apple

who specializes in some worth setting the pace in the mobile pc industry would at least

put out something worth buying the Ipad HD for. Screen size?? oh yeah like the human

eye can detect that. A5X processor? uhmmm kk, try explaining that to a noob 4G?? Most OEMS

have been there and done that.

Even Apple has indirectly say it, this ipad isnt revolutionary which is the word they use when they

bring out spectacular, its resolutionary oh dear God, see format, Do you get the picture now??

In the end, apple will still sell so erm well , no arguements

We  Nigerians and our one way thinking. Yes there are jobs in UK for international students we just dont see them or rather our one way thinking dont make it possible. I only share this with my family members before but I am so annoyed I will share it with you. If you are coming here please learn a trade in Naija before coming-capentary,tailoring,barbing,plumbing,roadside mechanics -These things will make you rich even as a student in UK . A mechanic will earn at least £200 a day, plumbers sometimes £70 an hour , who do you think cuts the black people's hair in UK? but the problem is that people come with the mindset that they want to get job in Tesco alongside their studies. no come with these skills and you will be very ok or otherwise pass your driving test and become a courier or sell things in the market. just think damn out of the box . I self sponsored for 4 years in UK and im now a British citizen since long ago .
If you are ready to pay consultancy to me mehhn your landing will be smooth. Self ive divulged too much, lol, that's a joke but i like to help. UK is still dripping with money just change your mindset and learn the street a bit. selah

The aforementioned jobs are not even being monitored by the government so technically you can do 100 hours a week if you like and nobody can prove it . A friend's wife sells Marykay self and makes big bucks. stop your working in Tesco mentality and UK will be nice for you. peace
Think about this-my mechanic in Hackney told  one day  bros I bought two houses cash . Noone bothers with him because the government cannot monitor them and things are done under the table. Im a software engineer but studying in UK is far better than studying in America and Canada and you are likely to get your kpali if you know how to play  the system without anything fraudulent self. All the people shouting UK no get job should wake up if they want to come and learn from my advice. Now where is my consultancy fee NAIRALANDERS?
I cant shout!!!! Life is only difficult once you think it is,

UPDATE

Alrighty, as you all may have heard or seen, a new build of Windows 8 was

introduced on march 1st 2012 after the presentation in Barcelona, Spain on Feb 29th.

This build *8250* is available for download on the Microsoft technet site. A simple google search

will also bring up other sites hosting this particular iso.

Remember that this is software is for testing purposes only so use at your own risk.

My thoughts

I have had this version for 2weeks now on my netbook which is equipped with the ffg specs

Processor: Atom 1.67ghz

Ram: 2gb

Hard disk : Intel solid state drive 320gb.

Video card: Intel graphics

This computer is dual booted with Windows 7 pro 32bits

I must admit that windows 8 seems faster than windows 7 without any tweaks and memory management

has improved too. however, i discovered that apps on the metro UI area could not launch for the sole reason that

the resolution of my computer was too low. *mine stops at 1024x600* while the minimum requirement is 1024x768.

This is however a hack to enable such a resolution on my netbook but that just made everything looked stretched.

Secondly, while i am a fan of the metro UI, i am also a scholar of the fact that if you dont have the power to fully run

something, then there isnt any need for it. this is my problem with metro UI. clearly i do not have the technology to

run the touchscreen thingy, so i feel that i should have the power to disable. Again, there is a hack for it but that

brings up another issue. WTF is Windows 8 without Metro UI??

Screenies to follow shortly

PhonesRe: Iphone4 User Agent Needed by moonraker(m): 4:20am On Feb 27, 2012
User Agent for the iphone 4 will depend on what

application you want to use.

For example

a once renowned MMS application called SwrilyMMS i think

had a user agent in the form of Iphone 3.0. Most apps that

require a user agent to function properly or even carriers

use this user agent. this is becos 3.0 was when the iphone 3G

became relevant.

the most recent user agent i have seen (using a tethering app) is smt

like this Safari IOS 4.3.3.

In a nutshell, the use for a user agent will depend on the app,
