As a proud owner of the samsung galaxy note and the iphone 4 and S

this is my opinion about the iOS and android platform war.


What apple has going for them is design and software (with a coma).

there is no other OS out there that is as fluid as ios. The apps are to

die for and well you have got Siri which is gradually improving on a daily bases

with ios 6 on the horizon and ofcourse cydia courtesy of Assistant extensions.

another thing that makes apple unique is the updates and the product life span.

the Iphone 3G went through 3 generations of updates. version 2,3 and 4. this is

incredible for a smartphone. Maybe the reason why apple is able to achieve all these

is becos it maintains a closed system??

Now lets talk Android!!!

The unique about this platform and any supporter of this platform is that the

specs are always mouth watering. unlike the iphone. The software isnt too bad. As

a matter of fact, the updates are consistent on paper but the Achilles hill of android

is the fragmentation of devices thereby making it difficult to update those devices.

lets take a look at the ICS and Jelly bean.

Most devices as we speak are still running gingerbread by default eg Galaxy note.

Unless ofcourse you decide to go rouge by installing custom roms from XDA dev, you will

not be able to have a feel of the ICS goodness. As we speak, only two devices on the planet

run Jellybean Nexus S and Galaxy S 3. This is shame. Something like that would never happen

under the apple eco system.

Imagine if apple software was on the galaxy note?? imagine the possibilities....

to upgrade every device
